I thought that was the case but wasn’t sure if I just kept remembering incorrect.. but once he starts naming Pokémon is when I realize that gullible is written on the ceiling 😭
Great vid as usual Scott. One of the main issues in this test, is that the Lego's looked to be in equally spaced stacks, as opposed to being layered in opposite directions. I don't think that giant brick had anywhere near the structural integrity it could have had.
Fun fact: lego is produced with amazingly accuracy, its the idea substance to use to make quick, repeatable and accurate jigs for woodworking or metalworking. The technics blocks with a hole right through them make great pilot hole guides for your drill.
If I remember right, a bit 12 hats long (so 3x a normal rectangular 8 hat bit, with 2 rows of 4 on it) is pretty damm close to 4" or 100mm. I watched a video of a guy making a full size MFT tabletop for his workshop using a jig made out of some
10:56 I noticed you had flat pieces throughout the one you thought would expand like the Deathstar. I think those flat panels reduced the energy transfer, because of how it give the Lego structure a more dense like rigidity. Or that's just one spicy meatball.
Exactly! If Scott (or whoever built it) would have just used tiny Lego pieces and no baseplates, the explosion would've been a lot better/cooler. The use of multiple baseplates throughout the big cube of Legos made it way too strong to blow up spectacularly like he wanted.
I'm guessing the off-brand flats that don't interlock had a lot to do with it here. If they lock together they basically become a solid block of plastic. As it is there is a thin sheet of plastic separated by air between each layer.
I really doubt that would make any difference. I'm betting you could melt them into a solid block and the elephant gun would still blow thru it like a hot knife thru butter!
Great video, as always, Scott. I did notice that practically all of the projectiles that you sent through the Lego stacks were designed to penetrate deeply and not expand, ie: solid copper. No wonder they zipped straight through. Gotta say, tho, my favorite part was when you were standing in front of the table after you shot the slime the first time. LOVE how you don’t take yourself too seriously! Keep up the great work! Always bringing a smile and/or a smirk to my face.
Scott, actually you should do an experiment to find out what kind of everyday stuff around the house needs the least thickness to stop a Brass Solid 416 Rigby. I think every time we saw this round in action it went through everything. I have to say it seems to have better penetration abilities than a 50 BMG which is an absurd assumption. But at least we have already seen a 50 BMG getting stopped.
Actually you're correct, the brass solid flat-nosed bullets of the elephant calibers do penetrate softer targets such as flesh, bone, water, wood, ballistic gel,far better than a 50bmg especially if the 50bmg is a regular FMJ,and the 375 H&H Magnum will out penetrate the 416 Rigby due to its smaller diameter and higher sectional density. The Spitzer design bullet concentrates all of its energy on the tip of the bullet and the bullet starts to spin sideways when it enters the target and thus fail to penetrate in a straight line and usually veer-off of the target. That is why the elephant calibers have a flat or round nose bullet so it keeps on drilling in a straight line. That said the elephant calibers don't even come close to the 50BMG when it comes to penetrating hard armor such as steel and ceramics.

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but if he's using actual baseplates, they're not meant to 'lock' together. There's no studs or holes at the bottom that would accept a peg from another lego.. They're meant to be superflat but wide bases to build houses and other structures on.
Hilti 500 epoxy in the size of one cubic foot in full cure configuration would be either awesome in slow motion or just might have it to slow the 700N down Alot
Idea: get different sheet metals, put them in order of weakest to strongest, shoot the week side first. It’s damage to the metal and how much energy it loses with each layer it goes through would be interesting

The solid lego sheets are what caused the legos not to explode with the 700 Nitro. It would take a bit longer but if you made that same square tower without the lego sheets you might have better results.
you should of built the 3000 piece lego block around a solid cube core that way the planet sized bullet your firing at it can actually dump some energy on impact with the core and maybe achieving the explosion you were hoping for rather than passing through it like butter. ive no idea if you would read this but oh well. nice guns though i love them and only wish to have them

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but if he's using actual baseplates, they're not meant to 'lock' together. There's no studs or holes at the bottom that would accept a peg from another lego.. They're meant to be superflat but wide bases to build houses and other structures on.
Lego. There is no s on the end of it, even in plural form.
Would love to see the 700 compete to something more solid, like taking down a tree or something.
You can chop down tree branches remarkably easy with a .50BMG
Hilti 500 epoxy in the size of one cubic foot in full cure configuration would be either awesome in slow motion or just might have it to slow the 700N down Alot
The Red White and Blue was prevalent at 9:28 and the slow motion of 11:09!
Good video, Scott!!
I'd like to see how far these rounds would go through a giant see-through container of oobleck.
That would be so awesome to see 😮
Scott: uses non-expanding ammo. Also Scott: surprised when the bullet smokes through everything.
I never thought I would see Legos turn into glitter. 10 years later you'll still be picking up those blocks.
These crossovers are the best thing ever.
Judging by the amount of Legos here, this was likely the most expensive video on this channel to date
This needs to be pinned! 🤣
no the most expensive is the Minigun one. Thousand of dollars VAPORIZED in seconds :)
No way. Blowing up the 50 had to be
@@Saanonymous80 the 20 millions views might have been enough for both the gun and hospital fees.
@@alexdarcydestsimon3767 they probably demonetized that video cuz it showed gun violence.
I have always wondered how strong they were against bullets never had the balls to shoot my own thought 😂
Idea: get different sheet metals, put them in order of weakest to strongest, shoot the week side first. It’s damage to the metal and how much energy it loses with each layer it goes through would be interesting
Man ! Your photography is light years ahead of everyone
That CZ 550 (416 Rigby) always appears to have a perfect combination of bullet velocity and energy dissipation to provide wonderfully awesome slow-mo footage. It was great to see it absolutely explode a bowling ball a while ago, and bolt actions always look sexy
The pen power of the 416 is scary
Request #2 - Scott, Matt, and Brandon test how "bulletproof" foldable tables and metal chairs are while they're stacked 🤔
Amazing video as allways Scott! The eggplants and watermelons had a break this time 🤣 Also that engraved gun is soooo beautiful 🤤 Because we can't have guns in Hungary your and Matt's videos are the closest things we can experience, so thank you very much!!
Check out Brandon Herera and GarandThumb….also really great channels
I love the 416 Rigby. That things flying. A nasty spicy rocket of a round.
"What do you want me to shoot next?"
An elephant... MADE ENTIRELY OF EGGPLANT
I think we also need to see live footage of Scott's accountant crying bitterly every time he shoots a big game round.
Better watch your feet 💀💀💀
Yeah.. that range's gonna be mined for the next couple of years
Dude! You make me happy.
You could try Government red tape for a backstop that stops everything.
WHAT IF, you had a vertical frame and used that to launch a table into the air? I'm just saying. Like a table catapult but with 4X4
Hey Scott, our family is a big fan of yours from MN. Have you tested shooting a engine block? Always heard that a 357 could crack an engine. Thanks for the entertainment.
Scott is a badass tbh...
Those guns would knock me down!
The solid lego sheets are what caused the legos not to explode with the 700 Nitro. It would take a bit longer but if you made that same square tower without the lego sheets you might have better results.
Shoutout to whoever cleans up after the videos are shot
some trix with bulletflight of 700 in slomo?
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
We need a demo ranch vs Kentucky ballistics intro war
I think table manufacturers must love Scott.
Still one of my favorite intros
Kentucky Buttlipsticks😂😂and Matt's just randomly rolling around on the floor🤣🤣
I love the lego stuck in the bumper from 11:19
My son loves legos, I could'nt get him to watch the real legos, but I loved it. Thank you.
you should of built the 3000 piece lego block around a solid cube core that way the planet sized bullet your firing at it can actually dump some energy on impact with the core and maybe achieving the explosion you were hoping for rather than passing through it like butter. ive no idea if you would read this but oh well. nice guns though i love them and only wish to have them
The Man, The Guns, The Legend.
I dont think ive ever seen ANYTHING stop the .416 Rigby...It just cant be stopped....
Kentucky buttlipstics cought me off guard😂💀
