Yep, so baffling that a team would leave him out of the Tour when he'd have to be expected to win a stage or 2 - and considering he is poised to break the record if he wins a stage that can only be good coverage for sponsors etc. Weird.
@@JimChap mainly the record breaking part, quickstep does have a good sprinter with Jakobsen as well but yeah.. even being Dutch and supporting Jakobsen, Cav deserved his shot
@@andrewcorkin6502 yep, they also stole something from us fans too, those Cav sprint finishes are intriguing as they jockey for position....It sounds like he's in the best form of his life - going by his numbers in training I mean.
It's a Netflix mic for the teams that will be on the new show for 2023 (F1 spin-off). I believe it was 8 teams that have them, if you look back you can see that on some of the podium guys ( Magnus Cort, Wout ext)
Mark Cavendish.....yea man! Looking forward to him being on a different team, in the TDF, becoming the Stage GOAT in 2023. Can you imagine the YEARS of positive press for the team sponsors? For Cav's bike sponsor/provider? For YEARS AND YEARS.....when Cav wins and sets a new TDF stage winner record? EPIC!
This was awesome to hear Cav talk in a more relaxed atmosphere and also to see the old Highroad teammate love! I'm hopeful he does the Tour next year and we get to see him break some records, he's always a thrill to watch!
Was looking fwd to a great episode with Cavendish and after watching, it lived up to all expectations. Mark's reply to question how confident are you that you'll break record on most TdF stages wins... "There's no doubt about it" was classic!!!
I love Cav and I cried maybe more than he did when he won his first stage in last years tdf. But he is also forgetting how much he suffered last year. How he was paced through, and how he told his team on a stage last year that he couldn’t win the stage but Mørkøv wouldn’t except it and pressured him. Granted he stepped up and won that stage unlike the sprinters to day. Fabio looks like he is absolutely suffering and that he is taking by surprise of how hard the tour is. And I don’t think he can win without Mørkøv in Paris.
So why did they take him last year? I doesn't make sense. They just assumed Jakobsen was the better sprinter (which is probably true at this point), so a logic choice from the team. Results from the past don't matter.
@@apolicum lol. Why did they take him last year? Seriously? Because they got a ton of press from it. “Chasing Merckx” was the headline the whole time. Especially once Primoz crashed out.
That is complete and total BS! You think Patrick Lefevre would not jump at the chance for one of his riders to break the record, so he can prove, once agaun, how good he is a manager? Patrick does not care what anyone thinks and is very ambitious. He would have put pressure on the belgian sponsers if he thought for 1 minute they hold cavendish back and he does thinks cav could win, Patrick likes to win too much to allow it.
I've been watching every stage in Le Tour for only 4 years, but I do think this year's has been balls out great! I come home and watch three UA-cam videos: the NBC coverage, then The Move, followed by Lantern Rouge. Each provides a different perspective, but The Move is definitely the best and has the GOAT of a theme/intro tune. Thanks to all three of you for great coverage, camaraderie, and competitiveness amongst each other. I'm glad to be able to tune in.
Best Tour ever and best The Move ever!!! Thank you guys for such a great show, laugh’s, tears from laughing 😂, and having Cav on was just the icing on the cake. Always look forward to all you guys do👊👊
Thank you for a great podcast with Mark, my all time fav cyclist. He is funny, common sense, and in spite of the hurt of not selected for 2022 TdF, he takes it in stride. It was a bone headed decision by Lefevere and Karma Patrick. Hoping a good team signs him for 2023 and provides the support system he needs to complete his goal.
AMAZING SHOW TODAY MARK CAVENDISH ROCKS and he should ve been in the tour this year !! Can you imagine how much media attention he ll get next year when he wins another stage in the TDF and becoming the new record holder for most stages won ??!! PS I LOVE THIS " THAT S YOUR FKN JOB ISNT IT ?" BEST CAV QUOTE
Love listening to you giys. Great interview with Cav, refreshing point of view from a legend. Geraint Thomas had Wont van Aert on his podcast early this spring and he asked him about being a GC rider, he said he would need to lose alot of weight and make it a priority, good interview.
I think this was your best show yet. Obviously Laporte's long range sprint was and is legendary 👌 but Cav's participation today was epic. I found myself smiling and laughing throughout. Totally entertaining 👏 👏👏👍🤙✌🐺
Cavendish just tells it like it is he should’ve been in this tour I don’t give a shit what anybody says there’s people that step up to the plate with the shits on the line and he’s proved it over and over I can’t believe this team to take him screw quickstep good show boys
Love, love, love this interview. The adverts, meh, can live without. But I'll sit through them for Cav. He shoulda been there -- I'm still bitter about that. Still not over it.
Broken back in 2 places, dislocated shoulder. Sticks around long enough to bait Pogi into burning all his matches on stage 11. = Champion heart. On some earlier show you guys were trashing on Roglic maybe you guy should give the guy a break when you don't know how bad he could be hurt.
Totally agree. It really made me mad when they were painting Roglic as quitting on his team when they really had no idea what or who was behind the decision for him to go home. And this was after George had said he had a seperated shoulder once and wouldn't have even considered getting back on his bike with it.
Love George Hancapie. Watched him win the 1993 Pan Am Road race at Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio. Enjoyed following his career. One of the all time greats.
It's time to apologize for Roglic slander after his DNS. He has several fractures in vertebrae 1 & 2. EDIT: Didn't realize they've already apologized. Skipped some episodes.
@@mgoo1713 they actually said it after that stage. Team director & other cyclists, namely Wout and Jonas. Some (including this podcast) decided to ignore that and made up stories.
Lance just got showed his Richard Simmons poster and it went without notice but he goes Richard Simmons is still plugging away and I think he caught himself I didn’t wanna say anything that’s hilarious
Sry o burst the bubble, but what Vingegaard is wearing on the back of his cab is not something excited new machine tech, it’s a wireless loft microphone transmitter pack. 😆👍 love The show👍

Absolutely the best Cavendish interview in years!
Thanks for the quote JB!
Cav is one of my bike heroes. Love hearing you guys mixing it up.
Cav seemed genuinely excited to be on the show, don’t normally see him so high energy
I haven't seen it yet but can't imagine a low-energy Cav
WOW!!!!!!! Thank you gentleman. Having Cav on the show was excellent! Ride to the level of your smile.
Never really knew what to think about Mark Cavendish, but that segment made me a fan! Well done, boys!
Same. He seems like a good dude.

Cavendish and Michael Mørkøv together on any Team, and the win’s will come 🔥💯
Put any mid level sprinter behind Michael Mørkøv, and that's 10 wins a season, ask Viviani, Bennett, Cav, Fabio Jacobsen or anybody...

Love Cav. Thanks for having him on the show.
When I heard that Cav wasn't picked by Quickstep for the TDF, my first thought was, his team doesn't want him to break Eddie's record.
