That descent from Pidcock was out of this world. Man that guy has steering skills! Bloody hell. It s good to see the cyclo cross kings doing well in road racing. Wout van aert, mathieu vanderpoel and pidcock are considered gods in cyclocross crazy belgium
You don't steer in mountain biking. You corner on the edges of your tires. Pidcock is obviously more stable and confident on the descents bc he is a strong mountain biker, not so much cyclocross.
Indeed, he provides a nice counterpoint to the general funny shenanigans of the other three :D The group of 4 is the power quartet many have associated with The Move podcast. I hope he makes more appearances before the Tour is done.
this show is SO better with all 4 of them. The move without Johann lacks the tactical depth, and JBs without Lance and Gorge is a kind of monologue. More of Johann pleaseee 🤗
I think Froome will regard Alpe d'Huez as a good barometer of progress. I agree with Johan, he likely knows he's not stronger than Pidcock at this point. Glad to see Kuss getting some attention; seemed like it might not be his year but he had a great day.
Froome hasn’t shown good form all year. To ride that well on a mountain stage when he came into this tour just looking for something, that ride was a big boost of confidence.
Great team turns to amazing when JB joins! This episode was so much fun :) As a Tadej fan I'm starting to lose faith he can bridge this huge gap, Vingegaard looks great atm. But on the other hand so did Tadej till yesterday and look how things suddenly changed.
It is wonderful to watch the Chris Froome video released today. Such a different perspective than what Lance suggest. Showing a person that is overcoming adversity in a healthy way.
I really wish JB could come back as a director. He is far more insightful and strategic than many other cycling directors. Love listening to him. Very insightful.
Well said man. Imo JB is the greatest director in cycling to this day, there was never anyone more competent and with a better undersanding of tactics and the race. He is like Emanuel Steward in Boxing was, not one trainer formed more World Champoins as him, Thomas Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Wladimir Klitschko and others. Johan won the Tour with Lance 7 times and with Contador 2 times, and his riders won Classics and other great races like the Vuelta. But as long hypocritical people like David Walsh, Floyd Landis, Tyler Hamilton etc. getting so much lobby, a guy like Johan wont get a chance to come back. Yes we all know what was going on back in the day, but even Richard Virenque stated in the Being Jan Ullrich doc anyone knew it, including the UCI bosses and organisators of the races. The riders did it yes, but they didnt invent it. Even former UCI boss Hein Verbruggen told NADA chief Dick Pound the spectators want to see those speeds, so he gives them what they want, and its fine do dope. The own Pro Cycling boss wanted the riders to do it, so the riders and directors are not the guilty party.
Chapeau to Pidcock for winning on the iconic Alpe d'Huez in his first TdF, though to be fair the breakaway was given a pretty long rope by the JV-led peloton. Tremendous respect for Chris Froome too, not just for finishing third, but also for being able to keep up in the downhill drag race with Pidcock, after overcoming all the physical and mental barriers that he must have faced following his crash. I am sure that he is realistic enough to realise that he is not the CF of old in terms of GC contention but still has the courage, fighting spirit and tenacity of that great champion. It was also good to see Pogacar back to his old self, though as he himself admitted today was more a day to reassess himself after his implosion on Stage 11 than try and get back all the time he had lost. Look forward to the battles in the days to come. Surprised to see Roglic falling away so quickly on the last two days, though. I would have expected him to be with the leaders till at least a couple of km from the finish. Is it because of the same injury that he is carrying or do JV want him fresh for the Pyrenean stages?
The photo at start is probably in the salt flats out west of Salt Lake. That's where they set the land speed records with cars. There is also an ultra marathon out there that is supposed to be really alien - just running on flat, salty, strange landscape, with rocky mountains here and there.
Good news today, the TDF will not be over until the end! What a performance of Pidcock today, he is a super talent, he will be on the podium in Paris. Pog, Jonas and Pidcock are the three musketeers of the future bike racing! Pogačar was perfect today, now he knows that it's nothing serious with his condition, even though it could be, because they messed something up badly. The UAE sports director left the race due to Covid today, I won't be surprised if we don't see him in this position again. It is impossible that Pogačar ran out because of some mistakes he made on the way, something was wrong with "power supply" and it was not Pogačar fault. Pog raised his confidence with short attacks today and wisely stopped attacking when he saw that Jonas was following without any problem :), even the finish sprint was a test of Jonas, so good job Pog! The Pog tactic is clear now, he has to continue testing Jonas exactly the way he did it today, if Jonas will follow without a problem, then he should stand behind his bike, when he notices that Jonas can't do it, he has to go all out! It should be noted that Jumbo is at the end with powers! Roglič is at the end, WvAit can drag across the plane and downhill, Kuss doesn't have enough a strong engine, Kruijswijk is in good condition but he also runs out on the slope quickly, the road to Paris is still long and steep, being in yellow is not good for health. At the same time, he must plan another victory, at least two, and gain seconds with the final sprints, but he must not take yellow to quickly, so the final TT will be a treat for the gods and for us mortals alike.
Lance and the gang,Stoked you guys are back!! I never cared about the noise.. you guys were always the best!! I spent many Julys watching at the edge of my chair.. saying man I wish I could do that!!!:)) I’m been a rider ever since.. man so cool to see y’all.. what a stage today!!!I felt like I was in the saddle.. it’s hard to keep up with this one.. thanks, keep it up, confidence is gaining as the days go on:))
Well done guys! Hey Lance i just finished the Being Jan Ullrich doc in German. Very good and emotional doc and great seeing you in it too! BTW about Mike Baldingers buddy Dirk Baldinger. Dirk crashed in the Pyrenees almost the same moment when you friend and teammate Fabio Casartelli crashed and died in 1995. That was such a sad moment :(. Dirk suffered a Pelvic fracture in that crash, but Fabio lost his life.
Disagree, Froome is the best tour rider of his generation. People have short memories and bitter tastes. The things Froome did on a bike are nothing short of legendary.
I do believe that JB is correct...key-totes, in the socks. You guys are the best conversation to hear in pro cycling, much less the Tour de France. Period. And you’re just getting started. Phil, Bobke, Christian, Chris and Robbie are the incredible, absolutely. But, to have the conversation that y’all are having, is awesome. I didn’t think that I would have as much fun with the Tour again. I mean, the athletes are incredible...super human. Team NBC is the ‘Peloton’ and you guys are...well... you’re the move. So grateful to have such great seats for history. Maintain composure and reserve, ya?!!
Great that JB is back! But why should Froome, a prime Fromme, should not beat this generation? There are plenty of guys in the peleton that can still ride with this guys and they had no chance against Froome. Froome was even able to ride multiple Grand Tours in one year an win them all. Even he was on the podium in 2018 on the Tour after winning a very hard Giro just a few weeks prior to that.
I was wondering when Johan was going to make an appearance. I figured it was just cuz he was busy with the other podcasts so @ 5:20 he laid it out. That was so funny.Johan your the man!!!
Is peak froome as good as this Geraint Thomas? If so, peak Froome does almost live with Pog and Vingegaard. I think Lance needs to give Froome more credit. He nearly died!
I enjoy the show. That said, it's orders of magnitude better with Johan. Really wish he was on regularly again, it was and is so MUCH better with his insights.
I’m watching today’s race and I I noticed the polkadot jersey so far behind, shouldn’t the guy that wears that jersey be in the front of all these mountain stages or at least close why even have it?
If pidcock can ride like he today yesterday at 22 in his first tour and already to be sitting high in the GC it will be interesting to watching which races he targets
Ice ice baby brilliant to see lance taking the piss out of himself. I wonder is the added pressure on teams to keep sponsors responsible for riders riding on feel instead of riding to power?
Vingegaard beat guys like Küng and Bissegger last year on the stage 20, a 30 k flat TT.! If Pogman is a better TT'er(i think he is) it's really not by a lot!
Hi guys long time watcher and I was watching today’s show and you guys had Johan on it . Would be nice if you guys could put his face in behind you guys on the screen. ???
Pogacar sprinted at the line to make a statement. Vingegaard looked to be spent much more than Tadej at the line, even though he coasted in his team's slip for most of the race.
These guys the other day trying to pronounce "Vingegaard! LA - "Vingeguard" George - "Vingego" Them hearing a dane say it - "VINGEGAARD". LA "OK george, you where closest, it's Vingego" hahaha Today Johan kicks in the door and pronounces Vingegaard almost perfect. Of course who else than Johan... Vinge is like, well the V is simple everybody get's that right, but the "inge" is like the inge in s'inge'r. Most english speakers say's the G a little too hard so it almost sounds like a K, like "Vinkego" Gaard is the danish word for farm and the D is silent, so basicly forget it's there. The double a's is one of 3 letters only in the danish alphabet and it looks like this Å! The closest sound or word in the english vocabulary i can think of is the starting sound of "aw"esome, so V'inge'g'aw'r". Or else, ask Johan:)
I prefer them trying to say it the natural Enlgish tbh. Vinge-guard might not be correct in Danish but no American will ever be able to pronounce it perfectly and so to me at least it sounds better if they don't bother and just go with the English version.
Maybe Pogačar is doing all these questionable sprints on purpose to wear the competition out in the long run. Assuming Pogačar really has a much better recovery potential/ index than the rest of the GC riders. It could pay of for him later during TT… Just fruit for thoughts Wedu team 😜Keep up your great work 🤙🏼👏🏼
If Pogacar loses by less than 40 seconds, the difference will be the 40 seconds he lost in the last 2 kilometers of stage 5 to Vingegaard being pulled by Van Aert after Pogacar cracked, and only gained 13 seconds after having over 90 seconds advantage
Nah it would be because he put on his left sock on first on stage 11. This is exactly why he needs more team support in the neutral zone and take more care of his hair's nutrition. Glorified rouleur at best.
as a comment to the tactical plays johan analyzes in the beginning i'd like to state the importance of van aerts actions not only on the 11th stage but also in the first week which i tend to think led to the impression on this particular stage that teams thought "ye wout goes again, oh wow van der poel as well... nice, dream breakaway... but jumbo actually held wout as an ace for anything that comes like bring back not only roglic but i think 2 more riders of their team and it was roglic again who forced pogacar to defend... i hope this somehow makes sense haha
Great episode! Quick question after listening: should we as viewers be concerned that Lance was seemingly driving his car without corrective vision? It sounds like he took out his readers to check his phone, obsessing over his competition with George, and dropped them under the car seat while in his 4th of July bender.
Johann takes this show to the next level, good he’s back 👌
Don't forget he took doping to a different level also. There is a reason why he is an outcast in the cycling world. Outside some podcasts.
Is Toon Aerts nothing to you? Does Taco VdH mean nothing to you?
Finally, JB is back to save the day!
Indeed, he provides a nice counterpoint to the general funny shenanigans of the other three :D The group of 4 is the power quartet many have associated with The Move podcast. I hope he makes more appearances before the Tour is done.
If three riders from the same team are attacking, should yellow be on the wheel of the second? Not following every stupid attack on such a long hill?
this show is SO better with all 4 of them. The move without Johann lacks the tactical depth, and JBs without Lance and Gorge is a kind of monologue. More of Johann pleaseee 🤗
We asked and we shall receive 😆
Great to have Johan back, he is great and the reason why I am interested in this podcast. Thanks
I agree with George that seeing Froome in the mix at the front was great to see. Tragic that his wreck destroyed his chances to get number five.
I think Froome will regard Alpe d'Huez as a good barometer of progress. I agree with Johan, he likely knows he's not stronger than Pidcock at this point. Glad to see Kuss getting some attention; seemed like it might not be his year but he had a great day.
It was a massive boost of confidence for Froome who has struggled to show good form this year. LA has been dragging Froome this entire time.
Froome will be remembered, third place on Alpe d'huez, fantastic, what he went through, unbelievable.
Jungles, Jacobsen, Froome - the race within the race for greatest miracle comeback prize
Froome hasn’t shown good form all year. To ride that well on a mountain stage when he came into this tour just looking for something, that ride was a big boost of confidence.
Love Lance, Johan and George’s radical candour!🤣 You guys crack me up!
Progress over perfection... Love ya George!!! Boys are the best!!!
You guys just keep getting better. After a long day of work, I tune in and laugh all the way through. Lance and George are so funny!! Keep it going…
Great team turns to amazing when JB joins! This episode was so much fun :) As a Tadej fan I'm starting to lose faith he can bridge this huge gap, Vingegaard looks great atm. But on the other hand so did Tadej till yesterday and look how things suddenly changed.
Hey guys, hardly any mention of Louis Meintjies who finished second today. Well done to Louis.
This is gold. Great raw humor. Obrigado!
It is wonderful to watch the Chris Froome video released today. Such a different perspective than what Lance suggest. Showing a person that is overcoming adversity in a healthy way.
With Nibali getting to the end of his career, maybe today we saw who will take his crown as the demon descender within the peloton… bravo Tom
@Gone Awry 😂😂that was too wild that video.
Alaphilippe
Johan is probably the wisest seigneur in the world. Chapeau!
You guys are getting more comfortable as a team and the show is getting better. Keep up the good work. Great job!
Johann, you're the best! With these guys, you will have to invite yourself. LOL. Glad you did!!
I really wish JB could come back as a director. He is far more insightful and strategic than many other cycling directors. Love listening to him. Very insightful.

Johan is so awesome! Best mind in cycling
Love Johan. He always has the best comments, such a depth of experience. and charismatic delivery.
Its f*** amazing seeing those guys having same fun after years
Great show guys. Absolutely made up for Pidcock, and Froomy no doubt silenced some critics with that performance 👏🏼
Very funny episode but couldn't stop laughing when George tells Johan "you didn't see the show, we pronounce names the way we want" 🤣🤣
The photo at start is probably in the salt flats out west of Salt Lake. That's where they set the land speed records with cars.
There is also an ultra marathon out there that is supposed to be really alien - just running on flat, salty, strange landscape, with rocky mountains here and there.
honestly, it could just be dried up lake bed. dwindling water in the great salt lake these days.

Slight shame Pidcock is just a bit too far back to make battle for the WHITE JERSEY into the hottest race in this year's TdF!
Yeah froomey, give him his props lance 👊
Lance and the gang,Stoked you guys are back!! I never cared about the noise.. you guys were always the best!! Geat podcast guys..and what a race Congrats to Pidcock.
I love the show but with Johan, it is so obvious how he takes it to another level.
Great podcast today thanks guys,,,thus 2 alps stage is always mad ,when Tom pidcock went through Dutch corner ,,amazing scenes
I was on the side of the road at the summit of Col du Seleur, when you went by in the break in ‘10. Epic!!!!!
Just found your podcast and immediately subscribed.. stay up Lance..🔥🔥🔥
It's hard to find useable information between all those commercials.
the best show in TDF commentary.....proper

19:43 “Even if Froome were to get back to his top level, that level is not close to being on the podium at the TDF.”
Is this Geraint Thomas better than peak Chris Froome?
@@Toke3004 Good question
Disagree, Froome is the best tour rider of his generation. People have short memories and bitter tastes. The things Froome did on a bike are nothing short of legendary.
Lets not forget how good Team Sky was. Froome rode for Wiggo.
2013 Froome would challenge for the win not just podium
5:00 thank me later
Not all heroes wear capes 👍
u the man
No thanks.
Since there is a lot of voting this year, can we vote to bring Johan back on every video.
I do believe that JB is correct...key-totes, in the socks.

Para ganar una grande se necesita equipo y Jumbo tiene de sobra! 🔥
Y también 💉💉💉
I was wondering when Johan was going to make an appearance. I figured it was just cuz he was busy with the other podcasts so @ 5:20 he laid it out. That was so funny.Johan your the man!!!
Great show guys
Lance hating on Froomey again. Don’t worry Lance, he’s not a threat to your 7 titles anymore.
I disagree with Lance, I don't think Jonas and pogacar are equal. I think pogacar is a better all around rider. It's basically jumbo vs pogacar.:)
You still think so? 😎
Is peak froome as good as this Geraint Thomas? If so, peak Froome does almost live with Pog and Vingegaard. I think Lance needs to give Froome more credit. He nearly died!
yeh, he forgets froomy was maaaangled up.
He nearly died on the stage today too.
Watching Lance rapping "Ice ice baby" made my day. Lol
I enjoy the show. That said, it's orders of magnitude better with Johan. Really wish he was on regularly again, it was and is so MUCH better with his insights.
Ha great show guys, especially enjoyed Johan
According to strava kuss did the alp in 36.05
@Frankie Swimbladder1 yeah... kuss has the kom with 36.05 but pogacar is down as coming in at 46mins
Lance has fun on the show but you can still see he is a full blown hunter killer by nature.
Recovering HK admittedly so, I sense
"You heard it here from Dr. G " 🤣 and Lance doing Vanille Ice
The TDF is always a MUST SEE CYCLING RACE for me every year since 2000..and it never ever DISAPPOINTS🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
That JB intro was AWESOME! HAHAHA. The best!
Pogacar has the killer instinct necessary to win, but isn't (yet) in full control of it.
I’m watching today’s race and I I noticed the polkadot jersey so far behind, shouldn’t the guy that wears that jersey be in the front of all these mountain stages or at least close why even have it?

Vingegaard beat guys like Küng and Bissegger last year on the stage 20, a 30 k flat TT.!
If Pogman is a better TT'er(i think he is) it's really not by a lot!
2 years ago roglic was better tt than pogacar and what happens. For me 2 minutes is not enought, its a long tt
Regardless of what all those hypocrites say .. these guys were part of one of the greatest cycling teams...!
BTW guys, Pidcock is the current Cyclocross World Champion.
Yeah but without MVDP and WVA
Lance, love the water bottle....Mr Cranky! Did George give you this??😂
Hi guys long time watcher and I was watching today’s show and you guys had Johan on it . Would be nice if you guys could put his face in behind you guys on the screen. ???
It was extremely painful to watch The encore presentation of stage 12 TDF, on USA, a Ridiculous amount of commercials.
Yes, I’ve found using a VPN to access the French feed is well worth it.
Thank God Intelligence has returned.
Omg George owned LA!! “You didn’t come back from a huge injury. You came back from partying with Matthew McConaughey”. Dead lol
I love LA referring to PAU, my hometown ! I couldn't remember he went for a break away for his retirement 😂😂.
Johan welcome back!!!
Pogacar sprinted at the line to make a statement. Vingegaard looked to be spent much more than Tadej at the line, even though he coasted in his team's slip for most of the race.
Nice watch G.
why froom didnt have one bottle going up d huez? was there an issue in his team logistics?
Going to Break to acclimatize for a LEADBOAT. I will go see Eric and give him signed copies of my books.
Come on Lance... That was Queen
These guys the other day trying to pronounce "Vingegaard!
LA - "Vingeguard"
George - "Vingego"
Them hearing a dane say it - "VINGEGAARD".
LA "OK george, you where closest, it's Vingego" hahaha
Today Johan kicks in the door and pronounces Vingegaard almost perfect. Of course who else than Johan...
Vinge is like, well the V is simple everybody get's that right, but the "inge" is like the inge in s'inge'r. Most english speakers say's the G a little too hard so it almost sounds like a K, like "Vinkego"
Gaard is the danish word for farm and the D is silent, so basicly forget it's there. The double a's is one of 3 letters only in the danish alphabet and it looks like this Å! The closest sound or word in the english vocabulary i can think of is the starting sound of "aw"esome, so V'inge'g'aw'r". Or else, ask Johan:)
The last "d" is silent, and the two "aa" in gaard, sounds like "å" in danish, so you shall pronounce the name as: Vinnegår
I prefer them trying to say it the natural Enlgish tbh. Vinge-guard might not be correct in Danish but no American will ever be able to pronounce it perfectly and so to me at least it sounds better if they don't bother and just go with the English version.
Vingegaard. aa = å, Vingegård
ving'e'gore... will make an American pronounce it ok
Guys can you explain watt’s related to recovery.. how do you when watts are extreme and what it does to the body?
Stage 18 up to hautcam I can't wait
Fun fact: In 2020 Tom Pidcock even was EMTB world champion.
I'm French and Romain Bardet is my favourite rider.
36:10 JV pulling to keep Pidcock gap? No pull... Pidcock gets below 5 minutes to Vingegaard and Ineos have more tactical options
LA partying with Matthew McConaughey in LA, it should have been something !
“When it doesn’t work out he cry’s a bit” Lost it!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Perfect.
Special guest star. :)
Maybe Pogačar is doing all these questionable sprints on purpose to wear the competition out in the long run. as a comment to the tactical plays johan analyzes in the beginning i'd like to state the importance of van aerts actions not only on the 11th stage but also in the first week which i tend to think led to the impression on this particular stage that teams thought "ye wout goes again, oh wow van der poel as well... nice, dream breakaway... but jumbo actually held wout as an ace for anything that comes like bring back not only roglic but i think 2 more riders of their team and it was roglic again who forced pogacar to defend... i hope this somehow makes sense haha
in essence my question is:" when did jumbo made that attack plan and is it possible they did set this up for some days?
George, I need to remember that phrase for my relationship with my wife. "It's 'PROGRESS' not perfection."
Great episode! Quick question after listening: should we as viewers be concerned that Lance was seemingly driving his car without corrective vision? It sounds like he took out his readers to check his phone, obsessing over his competition with George, and dropped them under the car seat while in his 4th of July bender.
lol, readers are for near-distance vision. He alright to drive around Aspen Hunter Thompson style sans readers.
anyone know what happened to MVDP?? why did he drop out yesterday? sick?
YEAH!!! JOHANN!!!!
Johann 😍😍😍
Chris Froome is coming back for redemption
Those guys started to race like Juniors- burn JB!
Pogi is like a young Luke Skywalker…he will be a very scary bearded Luke
George! It's Pannenkoek not pannenkoeken on your bottle 😇😉
A que horas montan la movida en español esperando
UAE need Johan in the car!
Love the Move
