I know it's not a big moment compared to the rest of the video, but Siobhan immediately seeing where Brennan was going and taking a knee for Ally was a great little detail.
Nah, a core trait of Brennan is that he never gives up. Instead we will keep seeing him increasingly unnerved that this Just Keeps Happening, even though it's a statistical improbability, and it's messing with his worldview.
The thumbnail promises a classic ally moment where a pop culture reference is made and the conversation is derailed, then, by rolling a nat 20, barely brings flavors of dnd back around, then makes a quip that steps on the idea that ally gives two flying fingers about dnd at all.

And that's the dm's prerogative. The beautiful thing about ttrpgs is that it's just an exercise in making a story amongst a group. The only person who anyone in the group has to answer to is the dm, and if they want to let something "game-breaking" slide, they can do that as little or as much as they're comfortable with. Rules are a framework designed with overall balance in mind. If the dm wants to throw that shit out the window for any reason then damn they can go right ahead!
Also, the only time a nat 20 is an auto success in the game normally is to hit with an attack in combat. per the rules, checks like this arent auto successes. but as above said, dm perogative and telling a fun story usually override that.
If it's game breaking for the type of game you want to run, then don't use it. I think it's neat flavour that there is a 5% chance something wild happens, but in Brennan's words, as a dm you gotta honor a nat20. Does not mean a player get to succeed at anything in any way they want, just that something good happens.
