ROUGH Takeoff~Dual Vacuum Pump Failure...Again

- We takeoff from Gaston's Arkansas on their bumpy grass runway and as soon as we got airborne it was just as rough with the turbulence on our way to Melbourne, Arkansas for a fuel stop. While enroute there I had a DUAL vacuum pump failure...again. This is the second time in a year this has happened to me. We thought it was fixed but obviously not. Luckily our new maintenance shop, TAS in Defiance, Ohio (the Twin Cessna experts), were able to find and correctly resolve the issues. The second half of the video is flying my sister back to Rome, Georgia to drop her off before we head back to the midwest to beat the storms that were on the way.

Hi from England, just subbed. I'm 75 yrs and I've never been on a plane. Yet I love them, especially the smaller private ones. I'm weak and feeble now, so I will have lived my life and never flown, sad really.
In all that turbulence, I happened to notice the Gatlinburg apparel, nice! I'm glad those vacuum pumps are not a serious problem, but safety first. Awesome video as usual! Thanks for sharing, Kevin.

Excellent job getting in and out of there in a 310! I was in there with an Ercoupe in August 2020. Leaving had to chase the geese of the runway, taxied back and took off toward the dam! Pure BLISS!

That sure was a rough takeoff but you handled it professionally as always, hard to believe both vacuum pumps failed once again! Good to see you got them fixed though, great video once again!
I just started my flight lessons and am sooo glad to see these issues like the vacuum pumps failing. Great learning experience so I don't freak out if/when that happens to me. :)

Love the tail cam shots! I learned on a grass strip. Put the flaps in and gain some speed before pulling up. Great way to learn. Vids are always great!

I believe that secures the stomach from leaving the aircraft.
Ha ha...she has some different methods of knees up, lean away from the turn and not breathing at times. :)

Had a bit of a pucker factor on the Gaston takeoff....very sporty indeed! Kristy is getting more and more relaxed...turbulence is just potholes in the air highway... thanks for the ride along and the debrief on that smokey sunny landing with a dogleg on final...yikes!
When I saw dual pump failure I thought it was gonna be a whole different type of video . Those "dual pumps " look fine to me and are the reason I sat here watching this video .

I took a pontoon style house boat on the Mississippi, North of Dubuque two different times for a week trip. Great fun! You will love it. Lots of choices to pilot the boat. Not all work for one person.

Good call on rolling out early. Low viz and gnarly winds would not have been a good combo for getting out of Gaston. And your sister would probably never fly again! Nice that you were able to get a little time together after the funeral. Again, sorry for your loss.

Another great video. I sure didn't notice those bumps at Gaston's on the landing but they were so obvious on the departure. Appeared as if the takeoff through the trees was even tighter than the landing. Great job as always. Will be interesting to hear what the "fix" was for the double vacuum failure. Take care.

The Jamie-Cam is the best feature of the video. But the Kevin-Cam is what real pilots are here for. The combination of the two are what makes this one of the best aviation channels around.
