Thank you for falling on your sword for us and watching this “series”. You’re absolutely right when you say that people like me, who grew up watching the original “Good Times”, would hate this show. They lost me at the drug-dealer baby (blatantly stolen from Dave Chapelle) and I couldn’t watch any more. I know it’s tough out there for actors, but they should all think about returning their salaries in protest.

Why did they slap the Good Times name on this if it’s nothing like the original? They should’ve just called it ‘The Cabrini Greens’ and sold it as an edgy black animated sitcom. It would’ve killed and probably got favorable comparison to The Cleveland Show, but oh well.

At least with Rick and Morty, no one specifically feels like they’re being attacked which is why I like the show. Thank you for watching all of the show to give a review. This was my first video of yours and I found it really entertaining while also being educational on the subject and I appreciate that. I also agree with your recommendation on South Side. South Side is hilarious and it's a shame not enough people know about it.
I think my biggest gripe with Good Times is that it could've benefited from being it's own thing and some tweaks in the writing. It doesn't have to be a Good Times cartoon, it could've been anything. I feel like it's connection to the series tarnishes Good Times as a whole. (I never fully watched Good Times, it's something my grandparents had on in the background so excuse me if that last part is unnecessary?) But I also feel this way about Mindy Kaling's Velma series. Both Velma and Good Times could've been their own standalone series and probably would've benefited from that.
Anyways, thanks for reading my ramble and thanks for the video

It's just baffling that none of the people involved saw the backlash coming. If they wanted to do stereotypical satire they could have used a show that wasn't one of the big iconic milestones for representation. Every minority group has some media that holds importance in this way, showcasing them beyond stereotypes at a time when they were not portrayed properly, so it just comes off extremely obviously offensive to take a show like that and try and turn it into the complete opposite. I just don't get what anyone involved could have been thinking with this.

In a Mechwarrior tabletop campaign, I was told directly by the Mercenary Review and Bonding Commission to stop using the television show Family Guy for the purpose of interrogating and torturing prisoners of war. So I'm quite sure that Seth McFarlane was the one that fucked this shit up.

Guests and the Main Characters, Should Be ASHAMED of themselves !
Talk about RACISM ! And I don’t know HOW IN THE WORLD ANYBODY looked at this and said,
“ I want to be a part of this.

There used to be an incredibly racist show on fox called Bordertown about a man who could possibly be the son of Archie Bunker, living in a town that borders Mexico. In a nutshell, it’s a show made for blue collar racist conservatives and how they see everyone who is not a white male. The show only ran for 1 season, 13 episodes.
Guess who was an executive producer? 😒😒😒

Thank you for your honest, objective & thorough input.
You took the time to sit & watch the ten episodes, before making documented comments.
I love how you go from the unhealthy plots to the bad animation (the frame rate count!).
This show is pure trash indeed.

It is what fills our head space and motivates or depresses us. LOL you said magical wizard movie b/c a magical wizard / mythical adventure for BIPOC is a project I am working on.

So many shows these days have what I call "XBox Kid Syndrome", where they're desperate to prove they're one of the 'big kids' so they say and do all this edgy crap that makes them look like a fool instead of just being themselves and seeing if it works.

I think the biggest loophole is two fold. As you stated, in the original series, they all managed to getnout the projects. However, this generation ended up in the exact same apt. How? Also they never mention Florida or which Evans child they are the offspring of. Are we to deduce that James stepped out on Florida? 🤔

Thank you for mentioning all the production/support staff who work behind the scenes. What passes as entertainment these days serves best as a spotlight on the dysfunctional leadership controlling production studios. Any group of reasonable people (outside the entertainment industry) could have advised better choices all during the "Good Times" production process. My all-time favorite black comedy, "Red Dwarf", BBC 1988. Anyone remember "Barefoot in the Park" from 1970: ua-cam.com/video/TGHfbX-glTc/v-deo.htmlsi=8D_WrpE0dqba6GGt
