Nice vid guys. I live 2 miles from the BOSS plow factory in Iron Mountain, Mi. I watched the company grow right from their beginnings. 1st class operation.
I love these snow videos showing the equipment off and the new stuff. A buddy of mini has the older snowrator. He says it's mint. He calls it his ATM. He can haul like 3 or 4 on his trailer and salt in the truck. He does 200 driveways with it. It's mint for it.
I love watching your videos ....when im out in the snow I wear weighters....no.snow in your boots, YOU DONT NEED dbl. SOCKS, OR TO KEEP switching out boots/shoes....always warm, never wet ....and you dont need really anything on under them....I've been doing that for.the last 5 yrs....they are still holding GREAT !!!
I'm picking mine up This Friday. I'm 69 and doing my best to keep up with the young guys. Eating right and Machines like this Helps alot. I got out of plowing I live 50 Mike's away from my accounts now I'm going back to Driveways more towards The Day. More driveways not parking lots. Small ones maybe. Maybe just go around and help someone . I turned down my Triumph Rocket 3 R for this Sr Mag Boss. It's as Cool ! The same price too. But the Mags safer and earns its keep. Thanks for Your video!!!!
Much improved over the original for sure! Glad to hear that they added some sort of heat for hands! However, that style of throttle is very prone to failure. My 2018 ditch witch sk1550 has a push button throttle and they are notorious, for getting stuck, wearing out. Buttons like that are not designed to be pushed hundreds of times in one night, plus since its electrical its prone to corrosion issues. Nice touch but they should have some sort of manual throttle as back up because that button is sure to leave you hanging at one point!
Look like great machines but there’s one major problem they all share as they talk about features in 8 below zero temperatures as they can hardly move - it is too cold to operate these machines in the Winter timeframe. We have and use on each Winter storm John Deere Multi-Terrain front end attachments and these are loaded with nice seats, heaters, air conditioning, radios, great lighting, have flashers on top, comfortable ergonomics, huge fuel storage, are super reliable, easy to use, have great trade in value and built extremely well. We can go all day and all night in our John Deere sidewalk machines (that’s what I call these handy tools) when using them because of operator comfort. We own Boss truck plows but we will not change over to these Boss sidewalk machines when we are extremely satisfied with what John Deere has brought to the table. One advantage of these is a smaller footprint and perhaps a couple more attachments but I am too old (my younger operators don’t want the cold either) to be outside in below zero windchills for any length of time for operation of machines like these. Sorry but no sale if relying on us Boss or any company not able to provide some degree of warmth (hand warmers doesn’t cut it) to the operator.
I also think the salt box on front is a big mistake. The salt dust will ruin all the wiring and moving joints. Thank for the videos I'm always looking for a better way. Your honesty in business is why I subscribed
Love the channel! Started watching a while back as I’m fascinated with the lengths y’all have to go to remove snow and the amount of money spent to do it. The cost of vehicles, gas, equipment, loaders, tractors etc. I’m so glad I don’t live in a freezing climate like that, don’t understand why anyone would want to. 8 degrees? Snow? We’d shut the whole state down, we are so unequipped to deal with any of that and yet y’all are “just another day at the office”. Hats off to you boys up there! I couldn’t do it.
Stan, I actually work at Toro, as a lowly drafter, but one of the project I've been helping on recently is this Snowrator Mag. It is so cool to see it in action and I always love watching you videos, especially ones featuring products by TTC.
Great video Stan. I’m currently looking into the multi force for some versatility for a municipal workforce, this is definitely worth a look also. I ended up purchasing a Bobcat L28 articulating loader based on information and ideas I got from your video’s, the options I purchased with that will be shared with the toolcat we have had for several years. Thanks again I wouldn’t have looked into some of these machines if it wasn’t for your videos. We cover over 1000 acres in parks and dozens of municipal building grounds along with other duties with 15 staff members and your advice and product testing is extremely helpful.
Multiforce surely has the versatility going being able to mow with it. Just don't bother with the snowblower and if it starts running rough in the cold/leaking moisture from pump...throw a towel over the top of the engine.
My biggest problem is the lack of bags you can properly place in the hoper. Only 3 if u are patient. Old ones have no empty inductor. I have to load up 6-8 extra bags to be fast on my sidewalks. All it needs is a shelf or a rear holder
They look a lot more like a Ventrac now. We have a last years version of a Snowrator, and I wasn’t impressed by it. Really slow IMO. Seems like this is much better. I’m just glad I run a loader and have heat and air ride seats.
What a couple of sidewalk snow- beasts !! Could easily imagine a minimally skilled operator could get those units into areas previously hand-shoveled or walk-behind blowers. Time savings on a site, seasonal- help retention alone , I would think, would pay for those units. Look well built, good shop maintenance programs easily last the unit’s financial life cycle. In my humble opinion. GREAT VIDEO, Thanks !
The salt spreader on the front in my opinion is a great way to accelerate rust issues. No way I would buy that attachment... Exact path over all your machine to speed up corrosion issues.
mounted on top of the battery and all the electrical connections too. Like spilled salt wouldn't work its way down through melting snow all over all those components.
Dang that small things got some power and can move some snow. Even though that V plow moved some snow but it didn’t have a pretty roll to it. The blower can chuck the snow out there. Great find Stan
Stan I saw the Volvo electric mini loader, you need to demo that, it would be fun to exercise it to the full extent, and I’m sure you know what I mean.
Stan it’s cool as I said before during blizzard conditions I want Inclosed cab like on my s70 bobcat like the little vplow . They should design a front shield to protect operator like on some walk behind snowblower would help a lot especially with the heat vents on machine 👍
It didn’t get any better than the Ventrac 3200 and 3400! Sidewalk work sitting down inside a heated cab listening to some music. O yea, and it’s a year around machine with all kinds of attachments. To bad they quit making the transmissions for them forcing Ventrac to discontinue them.
Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm hoping we're done with snow here in PA. I'm looking forward to sunny days and hot weather. It won't be long until folks are complaining about the heat. But I never hurt my back shoveling sunshine. :-)) Shalom/gw
Great product. Company been in business for years. They started with rototillers. I have an ARIENS GT 17 tractor with a 48 inch blower its a beast. I love it.built in the 1980's
Thanks stan. Because of your video I have pretty much convinced the boss to steer away from our ventrac and grab one of these new boss snowrators this coming plow season
I love the idea that I could pull up with a trailer with a unit like that with all of the different attachments to handle anything. Blow out with the blower and clean up with a blade or brush or any combination. That would be a dream come true. I see the possibilities for other attachments for summer use with that slick front attach and hydraulics 👍👍👍👍👍
These are amazing for condo association with lots of small driveways.. I've always used a skiddy or Kubota tractor to do the driveways. This would cut the time in half if not more. The manovrability is insane. But i can't justify the price tag.
So I know the guy said that you just tip the cowling up when the drop spreaders on to get to the battery what happens if the battery is dead and your drop spreader is Full of salt, it would seem that you would want a quick disconnect for that drop spreader to make it easier to access under the cowl if the spreaders full
These machines are obviously for people with big properties or for business owners that plow parking lots and such during the winter months. Those prices are pretty steep but for professional use I think they are needed.👍
As a plow and sweeper it's awesome. I assume the V Plow angles as well. I'd want a V Plow with power wings for side walks and hard composite cutting edges for damage free snow removal. Damage free snow removal is becoming a thing for sidewalks up here and composite cutting edges are going to be a part of it. Cheers 🇨🇦
When he turned on that broom I was thinking, He needs a cab on that. lol And that blower, she blows eh? That could be a real time saver where there are lots of sidewalks and cramped areas. Thanks Stanley. Hang in there, spring IS coming. :D:D:D
We don’t much snow in Arkansas, so I would never have a need for a machine like that. But holy cow Stan. That machine is sooo impressive. And a great combination of attachments. I was really impressed with how good of a job that broom did. And the blower really shot the snow a good distance. Keep up the great videos
I suggest demonstrating how well you can tilt the snowblower box to get the box's cutting edge to peel the snow off the pavement and not leave unpeeled "pack" behind.
This is an excellent redesign they only missed two things, as a sidewalk contractor you need an elf shoe on the front of that v-plow otherwise it's going to catch every single expansion crack in the sidewalk, the only other thing they missed was the right controls should be on a joystick, the old single lever won't cut it in 2022 if you fix these two things this thing will be a 10/10
That salt spreader on the rear should make it so it mounts in the middle and can be used as a seat as well at times when your legs get tired or whatever
@@Dirtmonkey lol I come up with a couple good ideas once in a while I have one for dump truck for pintle hitches I want to patent because every paving company would buy them instead of either having to take on and off there hitches or only having certain truck with hitches because hitches always hit the pavers lol
I kind of had the same idea last year, so I made a wooden plow that bolts onto my snow thrower. I can push the snow into piles and then take off the plow and blow it.
I’ve been asking for this demo for the past two winters now! We ran the original snow rators before Boss bought out the design and they ran a Honda engine. We loved these machines and they are 4x4 and have snow dedicated tires instead of the Toro’s 2wd system. You get so much traction that on dry pavement it actually caused the machine to bounce up and down and wheel skip off the ground kinda like a skid steer might, but on wet snowy ground you can do 360’s non stop it just slides but bites immediately when you continue going straight, made it so much fun to fly down a sidewalk spin around in 2 seconds flat while simultaneously turning the blade the opposite direction and make your next pass. We also used these machines in all our commercial lots instead of skid steers, you’re able to get right up against curbs and push it all out in like 3 passes and all around garage doors on complexes and push it out so trucks don’t have to go anywhere near those things and have like 6-10 feet of room between them and the curb or building! I was able to get within an inch of the side of a brick building without hitting it and it leaves accounts looking so crisp! Obviously I’d prefer being in a skid loader, but for what these are they get some fricken work done, and no need to mess around with a salt bag and scoop down sidewalks, just throw the spreader on and boom done. Machines like this remind me how much I love machines in general and how easy they can make our lives. Only time we had to grab a shovel was for apartment stairs. 😁
Wow, just wow. It seams like they put a lot of thought into the production of that. Its surprisingly less expensive then I thought. It takes money to make money and when time is money I want that. The heat is also a plus
In Massachusetts it’s very difficult to find people to work for you. Boss it helping with that issue buy making a machine that does the work of labor you can’t find. Looks like a great machine. 🥶
If I had one of those, I'd be doing every bit of Sidewalk on my block... both sides! My neighbors would leave presents at my door! Look how far it throws!!!
Looks awesome. I can’t justify it due to it only use is snow. There are other products that do multiple seasons which makes it a lot easier to purchase. We use Walker mowers, but the multi-force is another one. Just my $.02 love the videos!
I imagine that this toolset would be really good for Campus type environments with multiple pedestrian paths joining buildings. Those sorts of organisations typically want a groomed appearance as well so the combination of tools that the Snowrator offers the complete solution.
Nice! I love the exact drop method...really loath broadcast spreading, even weighting out the time savings on it. This applies to fert as well, just prefer drop over broadcast.
@@matthemberry they barely do but sure no more than what a broadcast pegs the rear with. Keeps it off turf areas in confined spaces like a sidewalk or small driveway
Looks like a cool piece. They could capitalize on the hydraulics for year round use in other applications. With constant flow hydraulics you could post hole dig. Make a little dump cart for landscaping. Maybe a trailer mover? Like you most people that do snow work have something they do the rest of the year. Somthimg they can use year round is more feasible of a purchase.

Pretty much 😁 Glad you enjoyed!
It’s so cool to see a company like boss that takes the feedback and uses it to better their products

Fun. It really took care of the snow. It shot it out really far. You have the most fun "toys." I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you. ☺🙏

I don't like the idea of the salt falling on the front of the machine. I see the salt working its way front to back though the entire machine
Agreed. I was hesitant about that and asked. They said the machine used a anti salt paint system.
@@Dirtmonkey until you chip it and the rust spreads underneath like a cancer. Look what happens to anything that's powder coated.

I didn't either but it would be traction compound for the machine.

A few other attachments would make this a year round unit.
@@Dirtmonkey that’s what I was thinking also. Heck even a set of forks. Small jobs in established yards.
I work at the Toro plant in Windom MN that makes these!!! Awesome unit!!!
Being from So Cal, this stuff is always interesting. Not sure how I'd feel if I had to be out in the cold doing it lol thanks for the video.
Wow, just wow. It seams like they put a lot of thought into the production of that. Its surprisingly less expensive then I thought. It takes money to make money and when time is money I want that. The heat is also a plus
It’s very well built In my opinion
In Massachusetts it’s very difficult to find people to work for you. Boss it helping with that issue buy making a machine that does the work of labor you can’t find. Looks like a great machine. 🥶
Didn’t think about it that way but I could totally see it 👍
Really nice machine love the broom
Same 😊
If I had one of those, I'd be doing every bit of Sidewalk on my block... both sides! My neighbors would leave presents at my door!
Look how far it throws!!!
Hahah right 😊
I like these tools. If I could afford one I would buy one. Very nice!
Looks awesome. I can’t justify it due to it only use is snow. There are other products that do multiple seasons which makes it a lot easier to purchase. We use Walker mowers, but the multi-force is another one. Just my $.02 love the videos!
Good call. If they could build an attachment or 2 for summer work that would help with the price tag.
@@Dirtmonkey absolutely. Not saying that it bad I personally can’t justify that.
I imagine that this toolset would be really good for Campus type environments with multiple pedestrian paths joining buildings. Those sorts of organisations typically want a groomed appearance as well so the combination of tools that the Snowrator offers the complete solution.
It’d probably be great for that!
Nice! I love the exact drop method...really loath broadcast spreading, even weighting out the time savings on it. This applies to fert as well, just prefer drop over broadcast.
Agreed. Better control.
That drop spreader looks pretty slick but it is pretty dumb that it's Infront of you and looks like it drops salt onto your machine.
@@matthemberry they barely do but sure no more than what a broadcast pegs the rear with. Keeps it off turf areas in confined spaces like a sidewalk or small driveway
Plus you could use it during other seasons with so many attachments that could be made! Such a awesome powerhouse
Exactly 👍
Stump grinder, ruff cut/field mower, brush hog, probably to hard on turf for finish mowing.
Personally, I like them! Videos get better and better.
Good ideas you need to talk with them lol!
