    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Your guy looked like he had already beat himself up about it and I think you saw it too and instead of beating him up more you lightened the mood with some jokes and let him know that no one got hurt and a plow can be fixed no biggie. Showing that type of respect and kindness to your guys will pay dividends in return and I'm sure it already has.

      Also you actually work too. I was with a company that would have brand new plows on their truck and never leave the house during storms. They wouldn’t even put them on or take them off themselves, always having someone else do it every storm. It was VERY rare they would plow even a small driveway but when they did would have a crew go there too just to shovel the doorways. Literally 3 year old cutting edges with the shipping label or whatever still on it.

    I had a similar tractor issue on a 2wd industrial farm tractor with ag style tires . I bought a tire Groover / siper and worked on my tires by adding more grooves and a lot of sipes. I can push incredible amounts of snow now without needing the old school tire chains.

    Ran the hinder scoop 9.5 ft hands down best plow i ever had. It holds so much more snow than a v blade in full scoop mode. Only issue i ever had was a 20 plus inch snow on the first pass it pushed hard on the first pass. But no complaints.

    Stan,
    %100 agree with the snow dog plows, if had mine since 2015, electrical issues in the second year 3rd, 4th,
    What we’ve done and has seemed to help is replace the entire harness, wrap electrical tape & Plastic around the controller connection on the inside of the cab, the harness connections on the exterior we grease, ziploc (with the small holes in an X formation for each plug, and electric tape it sealed shut. So far last year and this year, it’s been mint. We prefer our fisher plows though, V blade and extendable Good luck! Eh.

    We got 9 inches here in Saint Michael. The wind made everything horrible...along with the rain before hand. It was horrible here from about 10am until the next day. Was a full on blizzard the entire time. Was one for the books I'd say.

    WE are running "wolf paws" on our skid-steers...make a big difference....most of our sites are high-traffic places like gas stations and small malls...gets packed down before we can get there...big snowfalls here means 10hrs in the machine..3hrs nap and back at it for 3 days...takes another 3 days for the body to recover...I'm an old plumber doing this for 30+yrs.

    Here in Massachusetts we run a lot of Fisher brand plows. Only issue I’ve ever had is if your using them for plowing streets for cities/town the halogen lights blow apart. Up side is a little electrical tape and your on the road again never any other issues

    I had a Boss v plow on my old ram truck and now I have a fisher v plow on my new ram . I like the fisher plow over the Boss plow. 40 inches of snow on December 17, 2020 in central New York. Was glad to the fisher plow and the Cummins diesel that day.

    One of my least favorite snow storms was that storm. Rain turned to snow leaving lots soupy before temps dropped. Fallowed by another storm a day later that was snow turned to rain so back to back soupy snow storms.

    What i have found out in my 20 years of snow plowing most electrical issues i have had are grounding issues!!!!! Put on an extra grounding cables from the plow to the truck. That is why I never went to the easy hook plows. I'm still running an original Boss RT1 with the pump under the hood and an old fisher from 1980's . I plow small lots and they still work fine!!!!

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  3 роки тому +1

      The pumps under the hood help keep your fluid warm. Thats a smart setup- used to run one myself.

    You're third or fourth favorite for me, A.C. and SV Seeker come to mind but of course my channel has to be my favorite 🤣.
    If you have not replaced your plow yet take a look at the Western Wide out, ran one last winter up in Duluth, no big issues at all, thing is perfect for doing big lots. In fact the only issue I had was a bad O ring on one of the hoses. One of my friends is running it this year and says it is much better than the v plow he ran last year.
