There are 2 sides to humans. The animalistic physical side and the spiritual metaphysical side. I think that the more a person indulges in the 'physical' world, and the more materialistic they and their goals become, the more they become in line with their physical selves. And that mindset is very compatible with liberalism and atheism. What it does is weaken (and when taken to the extremes, turns off) the intuitive part of morality, which comes from the soul. However, the more a person nourishes the soul and focuses on that instead of the physical self, by praying and by reflecting on the creation of Allah, the more they awaken that intuitiveness that allows them to navigate this unseen valley of morality with confidence. In Islam, we call this the Fitrah. Rulings in Islam, the instructions given to us by Allah, are meant to not just pertain to the physical well-being of every individual in the society, but spiritual as well. That is what keeps this 'Fitrah' alive and healthy.
If we have to use our own brain to think about what is moral and what not isn't this actually strengthening the intuitive part of morality since you have to put effort to understand why something would be moral or not and learn from that? And isn't following morals because someone said so actually weakening your moral intuition since you don't have to think very deep about why something is moral or immoral since someone just tells you this or that is moral or not?
Really good discussion, you're wise beyond your years Jan! It's great to see new Muslims from Eastern Europe and the Baltic states where Islam hasn't really had a foothold. At the same time it's not surprising, new age atheism is leading a whole generation of unsuspecting followers into a lifetime of nihilism and misery. As an atheist, I have no problems making moral assessments. Morality is the cognitive process of differentiating between intentions, decisions, and actions that are appropriate from those inappropriate. Each and every individual is the sole arbiter of his/her own morality. Likewise, each and every individual is responsible, accountable, and culpable for those intentions, decisions, and actions based on those assessments.
@Love all typical response :) what about your intuitive morality? Why are you stuck in the box of "harm principle" morality? This is what creates the Brave New World....so just because something is old (it's actually the 6th century but ok) that's why it's wrong? How does that work? Does morality improve with time? Give me evidence for that, please.
@Love all well by the same logic why is democracy used in most countries today as it is more than 2000 years old? I don’t buy the logic that an idea that is old means it is instantly redundant or non applicable to today
@Love all so if no deformities would occur from incestuous relationship, morally speaking you wouldn't have problem with that kind of act? You said Islam morality comes from a sheep herder who didn't know a 10th of what we know today, actually its true, but you also don't know a 10th from what he knows. The prophet didn't know how to read and write, so how would he produce such literature at that time when he didn't have any exposure to any education. Thus we believe him as the messenger and not the god. I think it would be much quicker to claim himself as the god and end it at that and just tried to gain followers only by certain numbers and not spreading them to the neighbouring countries at that time. Why go to such lengths. Why endure such embrassments just for you to laugh at him? Thousand years ago , the exact insults that you made of him were the same kind of insults he received at that time.
To keep my response short I respond to only two spots instead of the dozen I wanted to. Re: 8:40 “Subjectively Gross therefor innately objectively immoral.” This makes no sense to me. There are many gross things that we would both probably call good. (Colon exams?) There are also many studies on moral development and answering moral questions engages the reasoning areas of the brain, not memory or the sense of self. And innate morality in children? It takes a very short look into the various groups of the past to show this is false. Compare what children would have considered moral in tribal societies vs ancient societies vs modern societies. It is always changing as we change. Re: 50:00 None of the 3 people mentioned are Atheist. One is a Jew, two are Christian Creationists. Both are rejected by mathematical consensus. Their figures are easy to show are exaggerated. When the actual figures are run with the latest knowledge of early Earth conditions and rna successfully forming under simulated early earth conditions it is calculated that abiogenesis may have had enough time to occur up to 2.5 times on the planet. No matter. Even if God started life on Earth, abiogenesis is separate from Evolution.

Let's get real. The Islamic, Xian and Jewish gods _are not the same god!_ The Jewish and Islamic gods are unities. The Xian god is a trinity. Jews and Muslims are adamant: their gods _never had a son._ Xians are equally insistent: their god did. And if you think the Islamic and Jewish gods are the same god, you should reread the texts. Any attempt to fuse these gods is to say that you believe in a god who is a trinity _and_ a unity; who did _and did not_ have a son. In that case, atheistic denialism and disbelief prevail.
Sorry, but atheism isn't a religion, a worldview or a belief system. It's an opinion or judgement about a single issue: do any gods exist? Here are the atheist attitudes. Nonbelievers: "Theism and atheism are equally likely." Disbelievers: "I believe there are no gods." Deniers: "I know there are no gods." Naturalists: "I believe there is nothing supernatural." No worldview or religion or belief "system" can be expressed in just six words. So instead say the atheist "opinion," or "position" or "attitude."
But atheist believe in something. If they reject God then they believe in multiverse or big bang right or DMT trips? A person can't believe in nothing. Every person has a beliefs system of some sorts whether secular or religious.
@@jantheslovakmuslim Every person believes in 'something'. Atheism is a position. Not a belief, worldview or ideology. It is the position of suspending the acknowledgement of gods until sufficient credible evidence is presented. It is natural, rational, and prudent to be skeptical of unsubstantiated claims, especially extraordinary ones. Wouldn't you agree?
@@theoskeptomai2535 I agree. But I'm saying that Atheist also believe in something. I'm not talking about God. You believe in science for example. You believe that truth exists. From there you also have a beliefs about existence ,life, meaning etc. And those beliefs are not rational at all.
@@jantheslovakmuslim No. I don't _believe_ in science. I _employ_ scientific methodologies to determine the best explanation for the occurrence of phenomenon. Science is a methodolgy, not an ideology.
@@theoskeptomai2535 Good encapsulation of the nonbelief position. But I'm not a nonbeliever. I'm a disbeliever i.e. I believe there are no gods. Of course, I have a burden to rationally justify my belief. But that's easy. How many gods have arisen in the past and now reside in the graveyard of gods? Easily a thousand. And all apparently inveterate hiders. Is that just a coincidence? Did they all make a concealment pact? I doubt it. Then there's the many physical phenomena once attributed to gods but discovered to have natural explanations e.g. the Earth, Sun, moon, planets and stars, volcanoes, lightning, eclipses, earthquakes, the sky, the rain, the seasons, meteorites, the day/night cycle, the wind, the aurora, tides, droughts, plants and animals, sex & reproduction, mental illnesses etc.. Never has a workable natural explanation ceded to a supernatural one. This justifies the belief that, whatever caused the Big Bang and Biogenesis, gods had nothing to do with it. Also, no "holy" books show any sign of knowledge beyond their socio-historical milieu and all contain primitive cosmogonies. Disbelief justified!

Re: 8:40 “Subjectively Gross therefor innately objectively immoral.”
This makes no sense to me.
Re: 50:00
None of the 3 people mentioned are Atheist.
Thanks Jesse.
What's the basis of right or wrong? Who decides it and how do we have objective morality?

20 ads? Are you sure?

Človek ktorý otvorene vyzýva k vraždeniu ľudí ktorí majú iný názor, alebo sexuálnu orientáciu ako on, nemá čo hovoriť o morálke.
? o com hovorite? :) Nikdy nic take Daniel nepovedal tak si nevymyslajte.
@@jh9190 kde to povedal? :) "na internete"? Ja Daniela poznam osobne a taketo nazory nema. Veci vytrhnute z kontextu. Pravdepodobne hovoril o trestoch Hudud pod Islamskych pravom. To iste s odpadlikami. Nemysli sa bezny moslim ale ten co ide proti vlade a spolci sa s nepriatelom a podobne. Za to je trest smrti aj v USA - "treason of the state". Kedze tam berieme Islam ked uz je v ustave alebo na politickej urovni. Takze neplette si ze to su jeho nazory ale skor islamske pravo. Vas ako nemoslima sa to aj tak netyka takze pohoda. Odporucam precitat a nastudovat si ako tieto tresty v realite fungovali a ci vobec niekedy boli robene kvoli takmer nesplnitelnym poziadavkam :)

@@FaheemMalur yes that's the Brave New World show :) don't worry there's nothing to see in the picture just her face.
