I see my boys punished and shamed every year after year at school. Most of their teachers so far just don’t get it. My older son is in year 8, and second day back to school (after the covid start to high school last year!) he’s being screamed at and reported by the so-called “well-being officer “ to the year advisor who contacted me to complain, because my ADHD boy giggled. They seem to think well being equals discipline. It’s so exhausting amd stressful for my boys and also for me. I wish every teacher approached children with compassion. I work in corporate world and I always think, imagine the same workplace policies applied there. Imagine I spoke to my clients or colleagues that way? I’d be fired. But somehow it’s permissible to dehumanise the vulnerable - children. I just don’t get it.
I have moved my son from his previous school and in this new school i was told that he doesn't listen in class and he doesn't finish his work and i must say i am so depressed and loosing hope in him ever becoming a well mannered child. 😢😢😢😢
