I learnt knit mittens from 95 year old Swedish lady who always said to use bright and cheerful Colors for winter because they were your “jewelry “ in winter!
I'm working on the Cyclamen Wrap by Sandra Nesbitt, using the WYS Retreat in Escape (pink). I've never used that type of roving yarn before, sometimes it's thick and fluffy and sometimes it's pretty thin. It's a beautiful pattern. I'm going to make it pretty long so I can wrap it around my shoulders or as a big fluffy scarf.
That looks like such a cozy pattern! I've been thinking about making a shawl so that I can better accommodate the different temperatures throughout the school! I've only knit one fingerless mitt (second mitt syndrome got me) and I live the yarn, but rovings can be a tricky yarn to work with because they can break easily and there can be some inconsistencies. I hope you're wrap is going well!
Thanks, I actually decided to change course and knit a blouse no 1 with the yarn and I'm loving the way it is working up! A levitate wrap is still in my queue, but I was craving some mindless in the round stockinette!
Just came across your podcast and I really like it! If you’re concerned about your camera setup, my only suggestion is to zoom in or out the camera closer. I’m watching on my phone and it’s difficult to see the pretty yarns when you’re so far away! But I do really like how you show the pattern photos, I’ve seen a lot of podcasts that just assume we know what popular patterns look like
Definitely prefer for the grey/ blue colour combination for a Lyon Sweater but the Retreat yarn uses a recommended needle size (6.5mm) much larger than the Lyon Chunky pattern calls for. Although the Lyon pattern name includes the word chunky and the Ravelry pattern thumbnail description refers to bulky weight the actual yarn combination is DK plus lace weight knit using 4mm and 4.5mm. These elements together make it sound more like an aran weight knit to me in which case your brown /cream combination might be a better direct pattern match if it’s aran weight as I think you mentioned in your podcast.
Oooh this is a very good point! I will swatch for both and see, I suppose I could always knit a size or two smaller with the thicker yarn. I've knit off gauge a lot haha
I’m knitting Maeve bolero cardigan for fall. It starts with sleeves and I love it, no sleeve island! I love the fisherman’s rib beanie, just favorited it ❤ thanks!
Very cool! I'm thinking of doing a bottom up sweater so that I can knit sleeves and have the sleeves as a small project to have in my bag to knit in down times and isn't the pattern adorable! I just bought the pattern and hope to cast it on once I finish my mohair tie jacket :)
I just came across your podcast and LOVED this episode, lady!! I love all of your project plans and can’t wait to see them being worked up!💗also super digging the idea of a knit skirt, I’ve never thought about that and I wear a lot of skirts! Thank you for the inspo!
If you can afford the Isager yarn I would suggest splurging. Sunday pills like crazy. I knitted à dress using sunday and it looked awful after one days use.
I'm so excited to see the bright orange Levitate Wrap! I think it's so nice when simple, elegant designs get knit up in a bold color. I also can't wait to see your knit dresses! I have been wanting to knit a dress, but the time and money commitment has thus far been too intimidating.
Thank you! I've started filming my vlog for it, and I may be biased, but there are some really cool shots! The orange will be fun and very fall! I honestly love bright pieces, but I think you need some good solid neutral bottoms to pair with it! Jeans are my go to, but this upcoming job, is business professional and so I'm searching for some good alternatives that are classic and go with everything.
I'm knitting the Novice Cardigan right now. I'm about halfway through the 1st sleeve. Yours looks beautiful! I really like your project choices and colors. Check Holst Garn for an affordable yarn option to knit the dress.
I wouldn't worry about the prices because you cannot get beautiful, timeless, good quality clothing in the stores anymore. Just all crap from china. I make all my own pieces now and get many compliments. Feels good.

Ahh thank you 😊 the nata dress is supposed to come out today and I have my needles and yarn ready to cast on!
Thank you for providing links to the patterns!! Have an awesome day fellow Canadian!
Of course 💕 thanks for the comment and lovely to know I have another Canadian viewer 😊
I vote gray and blue for the Leon.....it would be GORG
Thanks! I hope it meets gauge or I'll modify the pattern to work!

I like the grey and blue 😊👍
Sounds like it's a winner if it meets gauge!
just found you and loved your options for color and style. Am just strting the Kingston Cardigan and have another Tolsta tee on the needles.
Thank you so much! I love the cable details in the kingston cardigan to spice it up!
It's indeed a very nice camera quality! ❤️
Thank you! I'm hoping to get a bit more creative in some videos with the new camera!
I'm excited to see your levitate wrap progress. That orange mohair is STUNNING!
Thanks, I actually decided to change course and knit a blouse no 1 with the yarn and I'm loving the way it is working up! A levitate wrap is still in my queue, but I was craving some mindless in the round stockinette!
❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
A gleamed is a good depiler
Noted!! thanks :)
Love the skirt, I think it’ll be a must have for me as well. Thanks for the tip
No problem! I actually casted on the skirt, I'm not very far, but loving the in the round knitting :)
Love your inspirations!
Thank you so much!
I love seeing you work with colours, colourful knits make me happy too! Right now I'm working on a tanktop/vest for my partner :))
Ahh thank you and what a lucky partner! I just finished a vest for my mom :)

Thanks for the feedback and advice! I have a new setup in my new room and I think I'll be able to get a better angle with a decluttered background!
I love how enthusiastic you are with your plans and how many things you have on the go…I can absolutely relate!
Thank you 😊 ambitious is my middle name 😂
Throughly enjoy your podcasts. Going to knit a dress too but it’s coming into spring here in Melbourne Australia
Thank you! Maybe a summer dress is in order?

Oh my goodness the levitate wrap is gorgeous! Paige you have beautiful pieces selected. 😍
Ahh thank you! I swatched for it this weekend and I can't wait to start knitting it up!
Holst garn also had Titicaca which is a lace weight alpaca yarn I think. Maybe an option for the Mamba dress as it’s not that expensive :)
I will see if I can find some available!

Ahh thank you so much! I am so excited to have a knit skirt in my wardrobe and I’m planning a skirt pattern round up video 😊
The mamba dress😍 I need it!! Tusen takk for all the fall inspo🥰 (and I vote grey and blue for the Lyon)
Thank you and right the mamba dress is so gorgeous!
I have knit 4 skirts in the past...working on a 5th and will probably add this one to my wardrobe
Ahh love that! I am planning a skirt pattern round up video so stay tuned!
I'm working on my second Amy Slipover by Sandnes Garn! its a perfect layering piece
I LOVE THE AMY SLIPOVER! I'm waiting for a local yarn store to notify me for when the pattern book is back in stock so I can knit one!
Knit the Lyon sweater in both color ways 😂😂
It's tempting! I will definitely be knitting two striped sweaters with the yarn t some point!
If you can afford the Isager yarn I would suggest splurging. Sunday pills like crazy. I knitted à dress using sunday and it looked awful after one days use.
Okay noted! I'll keep my eyes out to see if any of the local yarn stores that carry it have a sale...

Thank you and I'm thinking super soft and a lace alpaca could make for a nice combo!
Hi. Wondering about the Topsy yarn, would you say it is a bit scratchy?
I personally don’t find it too scratchy, but I haven’t done a proper test yet. I’ll let you know when I work up something and wash and block it 😊
What’s the cardigan that you are wearing, if it’s knitted?
I’m wearing my novice cardigan by petite knit 😊

This is true! There is something so special about handmade things!
Blue Faced “Lester” is how Leicester is pronounced.
