Best band from Seattle in the 1990s...or ever for that matter. Jerry Cantrell was superbly talented in song writing and Layne Staley has the voice of an angel.
AIC is not the biggest band of the era, but they are the best. If Layne wouldn’t have lost himself, they could’ve been the greatest ever. I put a lot of blame on the media for how they portrayed layne and AIC. Layne Staley is one of the greatest rock vocalists ever, his range and control are unbelievable and nobody can make you feel the emotion of the song like he could. Freddie Mercury had the greatest voice and was the best performer. Chris Cornell had the most powerful voice in rock. All of them legends, all of them lost far too soon, all of them loved and missed dearly. May the Legends RIP...
AMAZING!! I’ll never forget it was 1990... my older sister had a cassette from the band I never heard of called “Temple of the Dog“. I was 13 years old and I had no idea what to think other than it sounded like nothing else I’d heard before and from there I went to either Sam Goody or Tower Records I’m not exactly sure and I bought the Facelift album... and from that point my life literally changed! Once I heard Laynes voice I felt emotions I’ve never felt...and 28 years later his voice still evokes all kinds of emotions... believe it or not those songs got me through some tough times and continue to do so! I was hooked... And still am! The Temple of the dog cassette opened up a whole new world of music for me and I hate to think what my life would be like without Alice In Chains,Soundgarden, Mad Season, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees... Nirvana... RIP Layne you are missed brother!
I was lucky enough to see Alice in Chains open up for Van Halen and they immediately became my favorite band ever since well Layne Staley my favorite singer of all time just the amazing I just still gives me chills got me through so much good times love love him so much wish I could have seen Mad Season that would have been freaking amazing😮❤❤
I would have loved to have been there right in the front of Layne Staley to make sure I heard every bit of his magical voice. Incredible singer...the best ever..ever.

Miss Layne!! But I'll always love the music that he left us with. The whole group is great . But nobody sounds like Layne. I do really miss his sound
I miss you Layne . So much talent comes with turmoil .
i was 14 when this happened. What a great time to be a teen and have this rock music explosion to grow up to and see live!!!!!!!!
how can this band be so perfect?
Respect for sure
There are no words for this....this is even more than perfect imo.
Isis you couldn’t have said that any better
When I was a teenager at this time this was my teenage selfs favorite band. My ex-girlfriend liked oasis. Chains is still better and she can still go f*ck her self ha ha ha
🤓
Oh my God!!! This is freaking awesome!!! I love Lollapalooza Layne and this is a great, clear video!!!
I think I just died and went somewhere really amazing...
I miss Layne's voice
kevykev38 me too
Layne forever!
the best vocal forever
Adriano Lio Cantrell harmonizing is incredible.
+Marco Cruz perfect
Your description of those 3 unbelievable vocalists is right on. 3 legends
After watching every kind of video about AIC on youtube you gift me with that! thank u man
This was when Layne was at his best. He sounded great and looked very healthy
Compared to unplugged in '96, yes he looks much better. He's still pretty strung out though, looked way better in '91 and before.
He looks pale af.
That's not correct and also it's kinda funny you say that because he's winging a song about his addiction
Get a life! Layne always sounded like it was his prime. His voice never gave up.
I preferred his voice in 92/93 but he was definitely far from "healthy" by this time.
What a voice.....incredible.
RIP Layne.
The alternative vocal melody during the chorus in this live performance is incredible 🔥
God Jerry was so sexy lol. I love this band so much. Man this was 3 years before I was born it kills me! What I would do to be there.
Deanna Pfaltzgraf I was there and 18 years old. It was an amazing time to be alive.
The 90s were the best times to be young...if u can remember half of it!!!! Lol
I got to see them last year but I couldn't imagine getting to see them with Layne.
And from what I've heard about Jerry.... pretty well, um, endowed too. Lol
@@cloudsugar272 I read that too
This is pure gold!! Thank you!
I would have loved to have been there right in the front of Layne Staley to make sure I heard every bit of his magical voice. Incredible singer...the best ever..ever.
When I was 12 I had enough money to buy my first album with my own money. I went to the mall and bought jar of flies. The next day I was walking my dog and listening to it on my WALKMAN lol. I heard nutshell for the first time and it literally changed my life forever.
I saw them a few days after this in Portland Oregon. Lolapalooza 93. RATM was the first band in the bill that day. They killed it too.
I was there too! Whole show was amazing!
Awesome seeing such clear footage! Thank you for this! 🙏
Layne held me and soothed my soul as a teenager and he still does today
Just Wow. Wish I had seen them live along with so many other bands that were just amazing back in the 90s. Best time to be alive for sure.
The fact that he could be crouched down and still hit those notes. Just a natural talent. One of my favorite vocalists of all time. You’re missed Layne 🖤
