ps1 graphic renders have a certain creepyness that fits real well.
All ps1 xbox original games have that for me.
It cause your brain to actually think and imagine the world cause it’s just realistic enough.

Models in Fo3 are mostly fine, it's the animations that make the game look old and crappy. Also the game having only 3 colors doesn't help make it look good.

@@palpablehen65 If you have both Fallout 3 GOTY and Fallout NV GOTY you can play it without Games For Windows Live by using the Tale of Two Wastelands mod for NV. It isn't too difficult to figure out, but it pulls all the files from 3 and basically combines them both into one game. I actually did a playthrough carrying over the same character from the Capital Wastely land to the Mojave pretty recently.

This gives me a weird nostalgia. The terrible graphics remind me of when I was a kid and truly happy.

You can really tell the effort that's gone into making this look authentic, like the way the textures stretch, the flickering, and the way you (didn't) handle antialiasing

@@jackarte i think you'd fair better porting it to the PS2 that way you can have bigger cells. But you can keep a similar low poly style to save space and have bigger areas. I'm just guessing lol 😂

This makes T-45 look like T-51, how the hell is that possible
Sharp edges and ridges of T45 don’t show up in lower definitions
If it was the other way around, we’d be thrown off by its edges
Reminder the T-45 was originally supposed to be the T-51 but the designers felt the design change was too radical and made it a new suit.

@@Hsaelt The name existed but the actual armor design in van buren is still the T-51, the '45 in that game is just a unique version used by Armstrong. The '45 in Bethesda's games started as the '51 but the design was too radical a departure for some, hence the name change and the introduction of a proper T-51 design.
This is a absolute masterpiece, this can definitely past for a actually 3d rendered ps1 game. well done mate!

God. I don't want to imagine how many disks you'd have to split this across haha. I found an old RPG called riven and it's split on 5 disks on PS1.
Not as bad as you would think, modern fallout3 is 6.2 gigs, which would be 9 discs, but if we account for the fact of texture compression and decimation of the polys of models ect. My guess for a ps1 fallout3 would be like 3.5? 4 gigs? Would comfortably fit on 6 cd-r.
Might be able to get it down to five with audio, music and voice line compression

I was like “yeah sure this is cool” then it zoomed out and you see the Washington monument backdrop and it’s just magic. Nicely done!
If this becomes a full thing, I think it will be 10x more playable then playing fallout 3 without mods
This makes me want to try and make a downscaled texture mod, like the one those guys did for Skyrim years back.

I would actually play this, I always thought these PS1 graphics are good for horror games because they have some creepy feeling to it. It kind of sucks games with this style are not made often anymore.

this feels like one of those vids that just randomly get recommended to tons of people and i just cant wait, this is amazing

it would be interesting to observe a modern game in an old game's clothing.
what I mean to say is that many throwback games also try replicating the control schemes and are somewhat short. It would be hellishly interesting to see such a visual style being stretched over sizable amount time, whilst being crafted with modern mechanics.

I grew up playing a 2nd gen genesis, ps1, n64 as a kid so these graphics aren't creepy to me, its warm nostalgia, much better times when I didn't have any worries in life.

The attention to detail is out of this world. The PS1 has a unique "dance" to the rendered textures thanks to its architecture, and plenty demakes forget to include it. This, however, felt like an actual PS1 title. Amazing.
