When you’ve been doing it for a while you get used to it. I DJ’d at a club that got a brand new smoke machine but didn’t move it before my set and half the time I was just playing in a cloud of smoke. Felt absolutely badass though.
Its very basic mixing to be honest. Do this shit in my sleep. This guy cant even scratch properly as far as I can see. I watched a video of him recently trying to scratch and it was terrible man. Using a scratch effect controler to make it sound a bit like scratching is a bit cheesy aswell. No hating on this guy. Just my take.
Can someone who is familiar with dj stuff kinda explain what he's doing for the most part? I here scratches and sound effects here and there but im sure theres more to it. just curious.
Preparing his cue for the part. Most of the time he's only using records instead of a laptop where buttons can be pushed to cue. Takes skills to find the correct timeline and beat on the record for a scratch. Sticker does help a lot.
The big rectangle thing in the front centre right of the frame is a Korg Kaoss Pad 3 - he uses it to add live effects and create samples and loops on the fly. The button he keeps hammering at is the align button which ensures the samples he is triggering is matched to the bpm or the bar. The turntable at the far right is obviously what he is scratching with but the Kaoss Pad is adding that delay you can hear.
the small circular thing he puts up to his right ear and then puts back on the right hand side turntable is a headphone he uses to listen to the effects to cue them up before playing them out loud...the knob he keeps flipping with his right hand while his left is scratching is the cross fader which gives the disk scratches the choppy sound effect...and as the other reply has stated the center console is a korg kaos pad that he uses to create the swell begore the last line of the chorus and other transitions...im not sure about the buttons hes tapping but eggsandjam seems to know what hes talking about so ill assume it is the BPM button and the reverb etc button which he uses to create the sound he needs and listens to it before the cue on the headphone so its ready for the cue

Scratch riser with the kaos pad, so he has a white noise type sample and he's running it through the fx chain on his kaos pad, sounds like some kind of room verb and some echos to make it sound wider.
But he doesn’t do nothing, and that’s why he’s in the band. He adds sounds to the music. It would be different without him, and different doesn’t mean better.
Slipknot is a own thang! They are not like the other drums, bass, guitar, vocals startard type bands, was like this since the beginning and is their concept so your comment is as irrelevant as you
Sampling is important part of Slipknot music. All the weird, scary and melodic noises you can hear LIVE in songs like Spit It Out, Eyeless, Unsainted, The Blister Exists, Duality, The Heretic Anthem, (Sic), Wait and Bleed, etc. is Craig's and Sid's work. Btw Craig played guitar before Mick, you need to do research before typing dumb fucking comments
weird comment. Just because this is a song where he does less, doesn't mean he does nothing. Many songs wouldn't work as well as they do without his DJing, same goes for Craig. A bunch of synths, keys and samples make Slipknot what it is.
Shut up, you don't know anything. You don't know how much skill you need to control this DJ table, at the very least you're an obese teenager who stays in your room all day commenting on shit on the Internet
the dance never gets old
"Sid. Number Zero. Deejay"
“Sid, im numBEr zero the ᴰᴱᴱᴱJAY” lol
Sid mumr zehro em th deejay
He's having so much fun I love it
I saw this once somewhere years ago and was looking for it since and I finally found it again ! :D Thank you so much for this dude
No problems
Whered you see it first?
i love sid
One of my favorites to hear live ❤️ 🤘
Good job sid
Wow just amazing
This is actually pretty cool to watch!
That was awesome
He was like fixing the sound system
Lol
*Hits blunt*
What if Sid and Craig were both androids, But Craig is the prototype and that's why he doesn't talk????
WHY WOULD THIS STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG
Remember during live shows he jumps off of his DJ booth goes to the front of the stage and just does what he does best: Dance
@@jaredramirez1593 thats a really good point haha
Now i know what is he doing on stage. 🥰
How does he see through that mask?
He doesn't. He's playing blind

@@humzakhalid7902 very nicely translated - it goes more or less like this
This is how it would be if the band Ghost had a DJ.

Not metal
