I think the manga was really good and really made me feel for Samus. It's worth reading. I kinda dislike that you titled it the way that you did but I guess I understand for clicks. Still, 'Why You Should Read the Metroid Manga' would've worked just as well.
Intro was enough to encourage people to read it for themselves.

I haven't read this manga in years, but I certainly remember really liking it. And now that I'm older and a bit more experienced with Metroid, I can appreciate it all the more; Samus' past, her relationship with Ridley, a look into her relationship with Adam. It all made me appreciate Other M all the more.

If the NCU ever becomes more than just speculation, I think a near direct adaptation of the manga/Metroid 1 would make for a perfect movie. I'm not so sure about most of the other games where it's just Samus wordlessly exploring planets with the occasional fight, but her origin story is a perfect fit. Also, spread the awareness of just what kind of monster Ridley really is.
A movie would help show Ridley’s brutality. He works not because he’s some roaring monster that Samus fights once or twice an adventure, he’s the reason she can’t have nice things.
Chozo not being able to fly, dang Raven Beak is very much an exception 😅
Makes him even more of a badass.
It would seem the ones that lost their flight were the Thoha. It stands to reason warriors like the Mawkin would want to retain the power of flight.

Probably just the Thoah don't have wings, the tribe of Old Bird and Gray Voice.

The manga was never my favorite, but it’s still a worthwhile read. I just prefer the story of the games overall.

And by games, you naturally mean the wikis about the games, that all push this Halo replacement, collective fanfic about Samus as the same Manifest Destiny disgruntled officer stereotype that all American war games need to include for some reason.
Like her sprite standing perfectly still in Super Metroid was masterful environmental storytelling about how plain STOIC Samus is, and actually is super glad she gets to be there to take names and kick ass for The Federation, galaxy's ultimate force for good.

Metroid Content, I love to SEE IT
The manga is great and is the first time we ever got to see what her character is like. I wish they'd localise it and make more manga perhaps one to fill in some of the plot holes of dread.
Also fun fact they made the manga because they wanted to make a movie and almost did until they realised they had no origin story for samus

That's false. Samus has had her origin story a good ten years before the manga came out.

@@novustalks7525 What does that even mean? Not only is there no such thing as an "attempt", but the manga probably isn't even canon anymore. Samus's K2L backstory had been stated numerous times before the manga in mostly Japanese material, though unlike the manga there are English sources as well. Also by your logic, Metroid Fusion is non canon since it depicted K2L a whole year earlier.

You should the Metroid series is amazing
This is pretty much the best way to get into Metroid and I somehow missed it. A bit funny how the Varia suit is a bit deal but it's an average suit in the games. That said I'd love an adaptation for the Prime series if they're this good (especially Prime 2. That'll be godlike)
A Prime manga, you mean? There's already an official Prime 2 manga in case you didn't know, it's called Episode of Aether

So basically Samus has one mom and 3 dads:
Her Human Father, Grey Voice from the Thora Tribe and Raven Beak from the Mawkin Tribe
Don’t forget old bird (who raised Samus but did not give DNA)

@@z.a.y.n-5053 No he's not. Adam was another father figure, never a "lover" for Samus in lore. Ian was Samus' "lover" (although, it was more-so that Ian flirted with Samus and not the other way around though Samus did grow to care for him).

The thumbnail is from another manga. Metroid: Samus & Joey. It's also pretty good, and I think slips in after Other M's opening cutscene but before the distress signal
I read the metroid manga about a decade ago online on metroid database. I remember the website. Theres 1 more metroid manga with blue. Only 30 pages super short in comparison.
I cant seem to find it now. Nothing realy happens. Samus just gets a bearded guy in a blue suit and runs threw killing bugs.
You gotta play metroid prime and metroid prime 2 echoes. I have both of them for the GameCube.:)
I never expected a Nintendo manga to use the f-word multiple times. Metroid is so much more mature than the other franchises it’s connected to. It’s unreal.
This is caused by being a fanmade translation. They tend to take liberties with the translation, and increase cursing when it doesn't belong.
Which reminds me of ProZD "official subs vs fansubs" skit.
This needs a reboot to clean up some inconsistencies with the rest of the series ngl. I take most of it as canon but some points don’t match up as well.

The worst thing about the manga is definitely how inconsistent it is with Zero Mission while being definitely canon. The best thing ever would be a rerelease that fixes that and expands the story by including Raven Beak and Quiet Robe and all the business on SR-388.
It's inconsistent with the entire series. And its entire plot gets pretty trashed on by every game that came out after, not just Zero Mission. It's more "definitely not canon" than it is "definitely canon".
@@JacobNintendoNerd99 I can't think of any example of a game trashing the manga. In fact, Dread directly recognizes and references it, with Samus being stated to have both Thoha and Mawkin genes. We can also see the silhouettes of Old Bird and Grey Voice in one of the flashback images.

@@g.f.martianshipyards9328 You can also see Gray Voice and Old Bird in the little flashback manga panels in Chozodia during ZM's end game as well as that cute doddle of Samus with those two she did as a child, for what it's worth.
I hope you stopped doing drugs in these 2 years, because Zero Mission directly takes over after this manga.
I've read the manga years ago before I came across this video. It was worth a read and it at least give us some answers for what we didn't expect from Metroid

I always cringe when I hear people say "Metroid wouldn't make a good movie/show/comic/etc because it's just samus walking around looking for items"
Just because the games don't show much of the lore and story, doesn't mean they don't exist, this manga is proof of that.
They must not have played later 2d or later prime games.
@@francoperalta5986 Even if you just look at the first 3, the games only seem low on story but when you know all the lore behind everything, they could make a great trilogy just with those and nothing else if they wanted
Alita, or Gunnm, is my favorite manga of all time. And this manga gave very similar vibes. I recommend every one to give it a read. Especially if you're a big fan of Metroid.

as much of a fun read the manga is, I can't call it canon. there are just to many details that don't line up with the rest of the series. Adam is a general as apposed to a commanding officer, Anthony never showing up even though they supposedly worked together, the mental guard is completely disregarded, and the origins of the metroids doesn't line up with how its presented in Samus Returns.
The metroid origin is the exact same
@@novustalks7525 I'm not too sure, dates are difficult to figure out in metroid but a lot of the structures in samus returns have an ancient feel to them, as if they have been there for some time. And in the manga it sounds like the metroids have yet to be released. From this I'm not to sure if the events of the manga are far back enough to be consistent.

Based on what quite robe tells us about the metroid creation it seems like they were created at the time of the manga raven beak probably found out when grey voice summoned that large group of chozo to tell them about metroids. And after that is when he went to sr388 to kill the thoha and destroy what remained of their civilisation
@@novustalks7525 Unfortunately im not convinced. Ive looked over the cut scene again and from the presentation, it sounds like Raven beak found out of the metroids after they have not only been released, but also have mutated out of control. In the manga it sounds like they were waiting for the metroid to grow more before setting it out, which means that these couldn't have been the same event.
@@joshmariotti2844 he knew about the metroids but only intervened when the thoha told him they want to blow up the planet .
The metroids were only recently created when the the manga was happening so the chozo were still learning and hoping to understand their power
