Measuring Air Filled Porosity in Compost

Understanding and measuring air-filled porosity in compost helps us make really good compost efficiently. This video describes a simple procedure for measuring air-filled porosity. Air-filled porosity is important for the microbes who are making the compost for us, and for our neighbours who have to live beside us! Microbes live in a water layer around compost particles, and rely on oxygen transfer through the air space between the particles. Its one more tool we have to produce great compost!
