Thank you so much for this video. And sir, you are a genius for writing that way.

What are the 3 quantitative and qualitative expressions of water content?

Hi, Thanks for the video. I just have a question: I have two values of 1.volumetric water content and 2.effective saturation (degree of saturation) of the soil. The volumetric water content was obtained from moisture meter measurements, and the effective saturation values are the results of my water movement model. I want to convert these effective saturations to volumetric water content to be able to compare it with the moisture meter measurements and see how valid my model is. Is there a way to convert the effective saturation (degree of saturation) to volumetric water content?
    Thanks,
    Nasrin

Degree of saturation is typically defined as = (vol water content - residual water content)/(sat Vol water - residual water content), so it spans 0 to 1 as the volumetric water content goes from the driest you will find in the field (residual) to full saturation. So yes, it is pretty straight forward to interchange these representations f water content.

@@selkerandorsoilhydrologyan3426 Yes, thanks. The degree of saturation is volume of water divided by the volume of voids. The problem is I don't know how to convert this to volumetric water content.

@@nasrintaghavi6877 volumetric water content = gravimetric water content /density of dry soil. As always, carefully following the units of measure is a good guide to such conversions.

@@selkerandorsoilhydrologyan3426 Thanks, yes I should be careful about the units.
