That's a cool spin on vintage ruck style packs. I used to really like this style 20 + years ago or so when I didn't care about comfort and organization as much. I dig that color combo however! Wishing you guys well this year!

I like that they used magnets from the top closure while keeping hipsters happy with the old style look. Odd though they didn't put any extra holes out of the factory though haha. The lack of a back panel makes it feel like one of those hybrid totes/packs but without the benefit of the tote look. Also I guess hipsters don't drink water. All in all looks like a perfect hipster backpack. Cheers for a great review and all the hipster examples haha.
I looked around a bit and found that there are other companies selling the exact same bag and implying THEY created it just like Gentcreate. I wonder if ALL these backpacks with similar materials and features (canvas, leather, hidden magnet snaps under traditional buckles) are in fact created by the same unnamed chinese factory to look like premium products and are THEN sold to and stamped by a variety of different western companies pretending to be "salt of the earth" passionate designers who came up with this new elegant design that pays homage to the olden days. Would be quite interesting to see a youtuber actually do a bit of research and do a video about this phenomenon (nudge nudge, hint hint). I cant seem to find anyone covering this beyond commenters who are noticing the same things I am. I suspect all of them are quite similar to the one I bought. Nice, heavy duty materials meant to feel and look premium at first to anyone that buys and/or reviews them. But with corners cut in sewing so that anyone who expects them to last a long time without having to fix them themselves might be a bit dissapointed (my waxed canvas bag has had three places where the stitching has failed after some time).
I suspect those magnets are the smoking gun. Any backpack with those same design magnet clasps will probably share the same original creator and be sold by a number of different "designers" under a variety of names.

Interesting video, with a lot of good points that you made! The one thing that I’m not overly crazy about however is the magnetic snaps. I’m not sold as to how secure they are, especially when walking in the woods.
Seems a lot of effor putting this product together and for price point it is a nice option compared to other rucksacks, also simple but durable and way more expesive options like filson, nutsac, etc... I think with some little changes/improvements this product can improve, most of them in the same production, for ex like Aron said, the laptop compartment or the side pockets. Also as option there is an all black Kanken from with leather accents thatgives that old school vibe with similar pockets disposition and overalll capacity that works with different Fjallraven accesories.
I'm not into vintage backpacks- just here for more indiana jones and good design backpacks. Hey Aaron, I think you should do a review about the Bellroy Apex Backpack

Thats because they probably didnt design OR create it. Just stamped it and passed it of as their own. You can find the same bag under many different companies.
