I bought this in Saltbush and it looks gorgeous! however… I really wish it had more pockets, both inside and out. I don’t mind much the external water bottle pockets as much as a pocket for real quick access to put my wallet or my Phone. The existing quick access one is EXTREMELY limited. Very shallow, as you pointed out barely enough for my sunglasses and Airpods. Maybe some coins. As for the internal pocket with the diagonal zipper, I’m also not a fan of placing my phone AND my keys in the same compartment as the screen might get scratched. The materials and manufacture are of excellent quality and I think this makes an beautiful EDC bag
For me it’s between this and the Bellroy Transit Workpack 20L. Currently leaning toward the Transit Workpack due to the nice hidden side pockets and it comes in my favorite Bronze (which matches with my Bronze Bellroy sling). Will grab one during the holidays 🎉
I'll throw in a recommendation for the Transit Workpack. I'd make a couple minor changes if I could, like I don't think there's any reason to not include a sternum strap on a 20+L bag, and the keyring hardware is cheap, but the bag is otherwise damn near perfect. Clamshell opening, tons of useful space, the separate laptop compartment, etc. Just such thoughtful design for actual usage. The price point is obviously a big factor between these two but in terms of functionality it ain't even close.
I tried this Bellroy at store before pulling trigger on Aer Travel Pack 3 small. Personally I like Aer especially with its rugged shape, thick and super comfy shoulder strap. Make no mistake, I like Bellroy for their sling bag especially the 7L and 9L for casual outgoing enjoyment.
Thanks for the detailed review! As a 5"2 person, this bag ticks a few boxes, but also lacking. Pros: slim silhouette, just right for my height and build. Comes in multiple colors, yey. I dig the front opening, although i agree that they could've zipped it down all the way. Cons: really? not even an internal water bottle holder? Also no luggage passthrough (i've got a 2.5kg laptop and a handy dandy scoliosis, passthrough feature is essential for work travel).
I considered this bag, ended up so far by getting Tokyo Totepack, but this one is still on my list. The ripstop material is so nice, I have already venture ready sling in this material and it's perfect for me, same was as ballistic nylon. I've tested few x-pac backpacks, but still prefer other type of material. Half-zip opening of Via seems also great, once again, I am not a fan of full clamshell opening. What for me this bag is missing is only 2nd sleeve for ipad,. I think price for this bag is ok, 20L capacity seems to handle quite a lot, Rushfaster was able to fit 3 6-packs inside. Basic, minimal yet still functional bag. Thanks for the review Aaron!
I'll definitely give those bags in the video a look. Thanks a bunch for your recommendations! Fryo in Asian size, yes?! The bag you're working on seems super practical and amazing! Thanks again for keeping us in the loop.
Yes, I had mine. I agree there is insufficient interior pocket. I just wish the bellroy logo is not printed n rather embroidered or the using the usual heatprint on leather tag. Overall i gave this bag 8.5/10. Cheers fm Singapore. 😊
Hey aaron, did you experiencre some discomfort with the shoulder straps? Particularly the area near your front armpit. I hae the 20l transit workpack and the sides of the shoulder strap felt sharp against my body
Im looking for a packable backpack and at the moment this is my first choice. I love the look, and find that most other light weight backpacks looks too outdoorsy... you have any other recommendations? I also like the bellroy lite ready pack
I see bellboy and nomads nation in same box, I click will edit and give a proper response when I have watched video LOL Edit: Video watched, I personally thought this bag was a bit out-of-character for bellroy. Just seemed a bit.. odd. Not to its detriment or anything. Also, what do you think of the Herschel backpacks? I've been checking them out and they seem to be popular with students in my area. Best
Thanks for watching! Herschel is a classic brand, very popular with school/uni kids. We did a review of their Little America Backpack - be sure to check it out
Cutsclothing.com. They aren’t cheap and they stain easily, but that aside they are the most comfy and clean/professional looking shirts I’ve ever worn.
Great review. I was originally considering that backpack, but this review made me change my mind. Any recommendations for something similar but with better back ventilation and a sternum strap? I'm completely fine with something smaller since I just need a backpack to wear on my commute to my office on a electric scooter, and the only things I carry are a laptop, overear headphones, a charger and a Ikea lunch box
@@Nomads.Nation maybe that can be a catch phrase or slogan hidden as an Easter egg in the bag somewhere , like the text some brands like bellroy have "I don't know if you know, this bags on Fyro" ... That felt corny typing it, but the games the game
This backpack sort of seems like an afterthought. Like oh shit we forgot to do this kind, eeeee just throw this together! Maybe I'm just having FOMO from never owning a bellroy 😂 Ever heard of Mopak?
The Via was a purchase and immediate return for me. Completely overpriced for what it offers...and only a 3 yr warranty - lame. Designed for the cork sniffers.
Just to clarify, I messaged Bellroy and the black Via is made of polyester (rPET). They refer to it as canva ripstop. So, it’s different to the ripstop nylon like they use in the venture range 😊
I used to want this bag, but then I saw Moment released its new Moment Everything backpack and kind of lean towards that. But I can’t find any reviews on the bag except for Moment’s own. Appreciate if you could do a review on that Moment bag. 🫶

Bellroy's sling game is the best

Hey Aaron, have you heard of the brand Thule? Would be great if you could review backpacks from the brand!
Heard lots of great things about them but haven’t reviewed a bag yet
I’m torn between this one, tokyo totepack and via workpack. So you have a review of the Via workpack?
coming in a few weeks
