What if you take your own life? Kill Link as fast as possible
In Majora's Mask, you can actually pass time as the Deku Scrub by talking to the scarecrow at the shop in West Clock Town. I know this, because when I replayed it I had to make dinner, file my taxes, help the Amish build a barn, and take the provisional driving exam before picking my controller back up.
You can also talk to the grandma at the inn.
The fastest way to advance time in MM is use grandma to advance to day 3 and use the scarecrow to advance to the final night
Plus you can get a heart piece by doing the Deku scrub playground and therefore save a little more time by not needing to leave Clock Town.
Along with that you can also give the deed to the Toilet Hand for another peice of heart
Pretty sure it would be faster to beat the first dungeon in Skyward Sword than it is to collect the heart pieces.

It is possible to get a life in Majora’s Mask entirely in the first cycle, before turning back time.
-One heart piece is at the clock tower where you showed it.
-Give the Title Deed to the hand in the toilet for a second one.
-You can get one by beating the Deku Scrub minigame (in a hole next to the Great Fairy’s Fountain) on all three days.
-It’s difficult, but you can get one from the Postman’s game of counting exactly 10 seconds.

damn dude, seeing wind waker in line here just reminds me how insane and timeless the games graphics are. you could release a game today with the exact same look and nobody would bat an eye. game cube was an incredible console

What I like is that every Zelda game uses a different art style so you could easily tell them apart. Wind Waker is no exception.

next important question: how fast can you become cool (touch ice) in each Mario game?
You can get 4 heart pieces, and therefore a life, as a Deku scrub before having to reset to the first day. Deku Scrub mini-game in North clock town, playing the postman's 10 second game, trading the moons tear for the land deed and, finally, giving the land deed to the hand in the toilet of stock pot inn. I do this every time I play the original and 3ds remake.
It's crazy the often considered hardest Zelda game (Adventure of Link) is the fastest to get a heart container.
In Majora's Mask you can actually collect enough pieces of heart during the initial Deku Scrub Cycle to get a life. In addition to the one mentioned you can get the one in the tree in north clock town by running up the slide, the postman timing minigame one, the one for doing the Deku Scrub minigame during all 3 days, giving the Deku Flower Deed to the man in the toilet, and depositing 5000 rupees in the bank.
Getting 5000 Rupees in the first cycle is impossible, though

Skipping all cut scenes and dialog the first time you play a game is called a "blind speedrun" and they can be absolutely mind boggling at times

How to get a life 101
Step 1 grab a sword
Step 2 have at least 1 bomb
Step 3 probably kill something
And then boom you have a life. *unsheaths sword* I guess it's life getting time for me once I learn how to make a bomb
I like how dark these games are when perfectly literally explained.
The Zelda universe is pretty dark when you realize all the main characters are puppets on strings controlled by the Golden Goddesses.

You can get a Container a bit more quickly in MM. Pick the Heart Piece at the entrance to Clock Tower, give the Title Deed to the guy at the underground restroom in Stock Pot Inn, win the Postman's minigame where you have to count to exactly 10, and then win the Deku Scrub minigame in all three days. =)
This might be the most pointless video I've ever seen, but I absolutely love your way of editing these videos. I've had to laugh a good few times on this one. Keep up the great work!

Now I’m imagining someone playing Twilight Princess and going “I don’t need a cutscene to tell me I got my horse back, I’ll just skip I- why the hell am I a wolf?”
But, in most games, a life isn't health, but a 1-UP. The closest thing to a 1-UP in Zelda games, other than the 1-UPs in Zelda II, is a full health potion. It fully restores your health, as if to revive you, and therefore you need to see how fast you can get a full health potion, rather than a heart container, which merely extends your current life.
Alternatively, you could also see how fast you can get a fairy bottle, which also counts as a life.

You'd think that waiting 25 minutes doing stone cold nothing would make Majora's Mask bottom tier for life getting speedruns but man it's not even bottom 4
Little speed running strat for BotW: to run faster for an unlimited amount of time, while running normally, whistle (down on D-Pad) and spam the sprint button (B). This takes no stamina and is pretty fast for when you don't yet have a horse or any transportation, maybe about as fast as a horse trotting

In Majora's Mask, I'm not sure if this is faster but you can actually get a full life in the first cycle as Deku Link.
1. Top of clock tower
2. Trade title deed with toilet hand
3. Win the deku scrub mini-game in North Clock Town on all 3 days.
4. Postman guessing game? I'm not certain if you can do this as Deku Link but if you can that's 4 heart pieces in 1 cycle.
I wonder how fast you can get a life and touch grass/fire/water in Cadence Of Hyrule, and obviously TotK. Awesome video!
I am once again asking for Kirby to touch grass, touch water, and to get a life.
In Majora's Mask, you can get a second piece of heart in the first 3 day cycle. There's a hole in North Clock town you can use Deku Link to fly over a fence and fall into. Completing the Minigame there for all 3 days yields a heart piece
And you can get a third by playing the timing game with the postman and a fourth by trading the deed with the hand in the toilet on the final night. If you aren't opposed to exploits you can also get the one on the tree in the swamp by escaping clock town for a fifth. I always like to start get an extra heart (and the bomb bag and wallet) as deku link before the first cycle ends. Absolutely no reason to waste 25 minutes standing still doing nothing!
@@Radament22 Forgot about the deed one. Knew you could get enough rupees for other items and that you could escape Clock Town early. I didn't realize you could do the postman timer challenge as Deku Link. I always thought you had to be Human Link, though I know it can be done with no masks.
The joke about skipping the cutscenes in twilight princess was literally what happened to my first time playing
You know, I hear people saying all the time to "Get a dog"? I don't know why they would say that, but I took their advice and caught some dogs in my Pokémon games. Maybe so that you'd have something to keep you company while you're playing BOTW2?
Unbelievable how no one comments that theres a hidden heart piece in the starting island of wind waker you can get it right away at the start of the game

It's actually possible to do it faster in Majora's Mask by doing the Deku Scrub minigame inside the wooden fence near the Great Fairy Fountain. You just need to collect all the rupees on all three days(which you have to wait out anyway) and they'll give you a heart piece.
Then collect the slide one.
The Dojo one.
And with the Clock Tower one that's four piece without ever needing to leave town.
"How much can you appreciate the story in every Zelda game" should be a thing. That's a challenge I could actually do lol.

You can actually get a life faster in Majora’s mask by getting more heart pieces during the deku scrub cycle
Give the title deed to the hand in the inn
Do the postman mini game
Do the deku scrub playground
Do a hard trick to get the north clock town playground heart piece
Backwalk escape town and get the heart piece on the tree in the swamp
And then the HP on the clock tower you got. That’s almost enough to get 2 heart containers
In Majora's Mask, you can actually go back to the astral observatory and talk to the scarecrow to fast forward to night and day

man Ocarina was my childhood.
I got hooked on playing it and could not beat it. I was maybe 6. I came back to it as a teenager and beat it. And i can’t explain to you the absolute rush it gave me.
years later in my mid 20s botw came out. and i got to introduce my husband to the Zelda games.
I often have found myself the last two decades humming Zelda songs.
I had my first child last year. and now he gets to hear those songs i’ve been humming for years.
now when he goes down at night for bed, it’s totk time.
i can’t wait to show him all these games.

Majora's mask could've been done way quicker. The piece of heart by the entrance to the tower, another for giving the paper to the toilet hand and a third for doing the Deku playground all three days, then turn into a human and get the one on top of the tree.

Slight correction for the Skyward Sword segment: In Hero Mode (for the PAL version at least), you can skip the intro story cutscenes.

Tears of the Kingdom (with as few spoilers as possible):
Follow Zelda into a dark spooky place where you meet a mummy who destroys your sword and takes 27 of your lives. Zelda falls down a hole and we end up getting saved by a disembodied hand. Then we appear in the sky where we go to not-the-Temple-of-Time to meet a furry ghost who tells us to go to all the shrines on the island. After getting three of them and learning how to make war crime machinee we go in the Temple to find a Tear of the Kingdom and get time travel abilities from Zelda. Then we find a door that requires us to have another life. So we go to the last shrine on the island and complete it before coming back and getting a -Stamina Vessel- life from the goddess statue.
If you were to start Skyward Sword in Hero Mode, available after beating the game once and starting again on the same file, you can skip the cutscenes. This is what the speedrunners use.
It's stunning to me that despite not knowing about the old woman's time-passing feature in Majora's Mask, the results were still pretty much valid because a bunch of games took way longer.
Though I feel almost certain there's a faster route to a Heart in Zelda 1. Might look into it myself.
What about Tri-Force Heroes? That's totally a Zelda game, and you can get a life by wearing the Jack of Hearts.
Right away when I saw this video I was like "Skyward Sword is gonna take a while" and well yeah.
