    Great way to show off the spalting. I love when you put a lot of things together with resin and then 'grind' off the 'unnecessary' parts.

    May I ask ? Why put a resin pour under pressure ? Vacuum would both degas and force the resin into voids because the gas that was in the voids wouldn't be there anymore.

    • @JackMackWoodturning
      @JackMackWoodturning  5 місяців тому +6

      Pressure shrinks all air bubbles to microscopic size that can’t be seen. Once the resin cures it stays that way. Vacuum removes some of the air but never all of it. And pressure is required to make the remaining air invisible. 👍🏻

    Nice work though 👍

    • @JackMackWoodturning
      @JackMackWoodturning  6 місяців тому +1

      The clear resin was a sealer on the dowels to stop them being dyed by the black resin. The black was then poured in 4 pours (although it looks like 2 on the video) because pouring it all at once would cause too much heat during curing, and it would create cracks throughout the whole piece. 👍🏻
