@@chipsteinberg5046 awesome. A good start would be simple rim inlays. You can buy small quality craft resin and mica powder (I’d recommend pearl mica powders). Just mix and pour, run a flame over the top quickly to pop the bubbles and cure for 24 hours. You can cut resin with traditional tools, just go easy to avoid chip out. If it works out well and you’re enjoying it then investing in a carbide tool with a negative rake cutter is your best friend for resin. If you want to start doing big pours then that’s a little different , and if so reach out and I’ll point you in the right direction. Hope that helps pal 😊👍👍
I love the bowl. Very clever. If you could have given details on all the steps, so we got to learn what each chemical or oil was then that would have helped a little more but still a wonderful piece. Well done.

Thanks Kevin and welcome. It important to seal the wood to avoid resin bleeding into the end grain. I used cellulose standing sealer (diluted 50% with meths) and then a quick spray with any clear lacquer. Hope that helps pal and reach out any time. I’m assuming you’re a woodturner? 😊👍

An absolutely stunning piece of art. I loved how the blue resin acted as a perfect foil to the polished wood.
