We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
I own a Tacx Flux S and your review of it is spot on. I have a room dedicated to my setup, so I don't move it at all so its weight isn't an issue. Not interested in Everersting or Indoor racing either. You just validated my purchase. It's a great trainer, I train on it several times a week.
Just did my first ride on the Zwift Hub. Coming from a Tacx Vortex. The Hub is amazing. I don`t like the casette tho. But if swapped it out for my Shimano 105 casette.
Why not talk about the Tacx Flux 2? you can find it at the same price as the Wahoo Kickr Core and all the cons from the Flux should be covered by the Flux 2. So it should be the best of all?
The hardware may be same but is the firmware? I suspect Zwift may be putting their own custom firmware onto it, because apparently according to the first reviews there were slight issues with it compared with the stock Jet Black.
Any options where i wont have to remove the wheel of my bike? Its my only mode of transport, so dont fancy taking it apart and back together everytine o want a ride
The key question is, which one is still working well after 3 years of consistent use? Does ANYONE know? I mean they all work good when you take them out of the box. C’mon man !
I've had my kickr Snap wheel-on since just after they were introduced. Got it at Performance Bike when they were around with stores. Had it do long dont know if it is first or second generation but had it a long time and it still works great. I use it four to five times a week for interval training. Was my favorite training method for my time trial racing since I could work hard for as long as I wanted, no stop lights or signs to slow you down. Don't race any more as my wife's illness requires more of my time but still train hard four to five times a week and it performs flawlessly. Did get a Zwift Hub to try a wheel off trainer to see if there is a noticeable difference. Training now is primarily for fittness and fast fun rides.
@@chrisvanbuggenum871 You are definitely lucky. Had one of those, then it needed to be replaced. Wahoo replaced with a re-furbed one that did annoy me although well within their rights. That broke and then Wahoo, which was nice, replaced it with another refurbed one that is a bit noisey. These things are definitely not cheap!
so.. i'm only now finding out about this. used to ride for many, many years. kept me healthy and happy. Bought a stationary bike but i couldn't even back pedal with it and it was expensive. Plus the big spinning metal wheel did NOT feel like riding. Are these machines similar or closer to an actual ride? Can ANYONE PLEASE direct me to some kind of repository for info specifically about these kinds of years or tell me what it's like? I would definitely buy one of these if I thought it would best simulate a ride inside my house. Living in Toronto, there are only 2 seasons: winter and construction. Need to get back on this. PLEASE HELP! Thank you!! I had bought an iron horse years ago but.. it had suspension which I really found took power out of my stride. I'm accustomed to the old mountain bikes where you just animal it... 21 speed and can go all day. Help, guys. Really need to get back in shape for my own health. Thanks!
How much testing was done on these? Were they tested on several different platforms for comparison or just Zwift? Who actually uses ERG mode for training rides? With the exception of ramp tests it bears no real comparison to real life and its training value is dubious. The Volt and Zwift are the same yet the reaction to both was so different in the review. They are both made by Jetblack. Also the jetblack was 60€ cheaper when I last looked.
Yes the Volt and Hub are exactly the same. Using the same firmware hardware. Interesting on the different reviews! FYI the JetBlack Volt is priced the same as the Hub. @499.99
The Zwift Hub is a rebranded JetBlack Volt V2, from the description here I think the JetBlack review is for a Volt V1 model. Pricing of the Volt V2 and Hub are the same: US$499. Zwift Hub is only available in United States, United Kingdom, and EU.
Regarding the power accuracy for the Tacx Flux S I don't know who to believe honestly - you're telling us that it's at a +/- 3% whilst others are saying it's at +/- 1.5%
You forget an important metric in this test. Wahoo preforms way better then any trainer in terms of going into the supertuck quicker which can win you races.
Got Wiggle's Xplova Noza S last Xmas and it's been tremendous for me. Using Zwift and Fulgaz... I've had no issues with it whatsoever and it can certainly provide some type 2 workout fun! Super price too.
I have a Tacx S and ali-in-all I agree it's a good trainer, BUT!!! The design is fragile - I'm on my 3 with an open case regarding powercontrol. The trainer is not good at reacting to power up/down within 10-20sek when doing traingprograms like doing pyramid and power changes every 10sec. When doing sudden changes like "all out" with 850w (example) in ERGmode it can't provide the resistance. It can provide when not in ERG. Risistance seems also to be a little unstable when hitting 200+w Regarding Jet Black and Zwift hub I think you neglect the fact zwifthub is rebranded Jet Black with zwift firmware.

Got the elite zumo from decathlon at 299 euro and couldn’t be more happy . The best bang for the buck offer

The fact the zwift hub and the jet-black volt V2 being the SAME UNIT with different branding (JetBlack being the OEM) should really be emphasized.
not so, during this test they were assembled with short bars at different spots :)

Got the Zwift Hub yesterday and it was a total mess for 12 gearing. Had to remove the whole cassette and to get smooth shifting was not possible...
Been considering getting one for a long time now. I think 2023 will be the year, thanks for this video! Very helpful
did you get anything? I am thinking about getting one now lo
Very concise and informative, thank you very much for this ✊🏾
Just upgraded to Jetblack from Tacx wheel on smart. Hope it won't overheat as easily, would love to do KOM on zwift without trainer overheat brakes.

I'm just going to get the Neo 2t it's on sale right now and I am not average bicyclist I want something that can handle the extremes I go to.
