Neo 2T. outstanding performance, power and cadence accuracy, rapid power response within 2-3 seconds, which is amazingly useful in Crit racing in Zwift. instant connection to the computer or cell phone through Bluetooth, and have tried Garmin and Wahoo HR monitors with it. has never dropped a signal on zwift or lost the connection with my HR monitors. very accurate cadence data, which I think is because it has magnetic technology and doesn't show slippage on steep climbs like flywheel technology. It has the road feel option but I don't use it so I have turned it off. You never have to calibrate it because of its magnetic technology. I highly recommend it. I used to have Wahoo Kickr, which after using Neo 2T I will never switch to Wahoo again.
Very happy with the new NEO 2T. Trainers have come a long way the last 5-6 years. I am sure less does it - but its a joy to ride and motivating that its so easy to use.

Me too, 40K km in 2 years cca. , perfect trainer ;-)
I switched from Suito to Kickr Core and found the fly wheel difference to be massive. When you approach a hill on the suito, it feels like you are hitting a wall. The bigger flywheel on the core makes gradient changes sooo much smoother. For intervall training, the suito is alright though
I agree with you, my original Kickr 15 died and I switch to a Suito. Thinking about trying the Direto XR with the Rizer when it comes out. Also takes about 20 min of warm up for the Suito to get accurate.
Good reviews all around. The Kickr Core is amazing bang for the buck. Excellent road feel even with the smaller flywheel, accurate power readings compared to my power meter, and 6 months and 3,000 miles later it’s extremely reliable. If your bike has a 12-speed cassette, you’ll need to buy a cassette and adapter no matter which trainer you choose. I also liked the Kickr Core because I wasn’t spending money on a cassette I would replace anyway.

Hey there! I stumbled upon an exciting new project called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike. It sounds like a game-changer, combining indoor fitness and outdoor exploration like never before. One of its standout features is the ability to charge in indoor mode! I'm really impressed by the Morph eBike's brushless 750W motor, delivering an impressive 80Nm torque and reaching speeds of up to 20mph. With its Smart Saddle Detection+ feature, you can effortlessly track your performance and stay motivated during indoor and outdoor rides. And the best part is that it allows you to make a positive impact on the environment by converting your calories burned into CO2-free miles for outdoor adventures. Super cool, right? Can't wait to try it out!
Yep, I'm considering buying the Tacx Flux 2 (the rational choice), but the "NEO" drives me nuts, all the amazing specs and it's foldable, that's a major win for me as I don't have that much space! Nice review of these trainers, thanks!
In the end, I bought the Kick Core. I'm surprised by the silence! The most prominent sound is from the chain, as I have to fine tune it. I terms of responsiveness and power, I'm really happy with it... But It's my first trainer ever, I don't know how to compare it. 😉

You did not mention that the KICKR has to ability to bypass the wireless connection and connect wirelessly to your computer. I think this is a game changer for those who train/race seriously. I upgraded my KICKR just to get this feature. Hopefully Zwift supports this feature soon.
Is the Saris H3 compatible with the Elite Rizer and is the connection responsive enough when not using an Elite trainer? Couldn’t find info anywhere!! Thx
I've grown pretty bitter with Wahoo. Have a kickr that is damaged. Tried to repair it and requested information on it. Someone from their support team basically acted like an 8 year old being incredibly rude to me. Never been treated that disrespectfully by another person before. They have hidden the spec sheets to earlier models, mine is from 2018. Can't find them online without help from their support and since they're intent on dehumanizing me I guess I have to buy a brand new smart trainer. Probably going to buy a Tacx from Garmin.
Love the information in this video. On an unrelated note, I don't know if I'm hearing this wrong, but it sounds like this presenter is saying the letter H then 'free' instead of three.
It's wise to point out that all smart trainers need regular Maintenance. Tacx Neo 2T was billed as a "maintenance free" trainer but bearings need to be regularly replaced as with any smart trainer.
The "-T" in Elite trainers' names means there's no cassette included, so if your Suito-T came with cassette pre-installed, it must have been some tester's version. However, Suito without the "-T" comes with a cassette (as well as about 55 USD higher price tag, which just matches the price of included 105 cassette).
Great video. Some of your viewers, like me, may still be riding vintage steel bikes with 126mm dropouts. I am not aware of any interactive, controllable smart trainer that works with 126 mm dropouts except for the Kinetic Wheel-On Controllable Trainer. You could force spread things to fit the 130mm dropout size several of these trainers support. Or you could go all out and cold set your drop outs to a wider size. But for those who don't want to "mess with" their cherished vintage steel frame bike, the Kinetic Controllable Trainer is a viable option. I have been using one on Zwift for one and a half years. Very sturdy and no complaints.
Hot tip: save yourself from headaches & spend more on a smart direct drive trainer. Don’t buy emotionally and read and watch a lot of user reviews online. Save save save, then make an informed decision!
Hi Trevor, our tester found the Suito matched Garmin Vector 3 pedals well, in terms of power accuracy. You can read the full review here; www.bikeradar.com/reviews/training/indoor-trainers/resistance-trainer/elite-suito-review/
Having owned the Elite Direto XR I found that the change in power when it hits a climb or a drop is way beyond what you feel on the road, and nothing like as smooth as it should be. It feels like it knocks down 3 or 4 gears as soon as it hits a gradient, and that comes straight in. This is not normal and can make using it really annoying. Nowehre near as smooth as the Wahoo.
After trying and owning two: if on a budget and as an extra: flux s (2900s) or elite xr. For the best experience and also for full indoor riding: neo 2t or wahoo kickr v5. Kickr core or flux 2 are best of both worlds but you might up ending thinking about the 200€ that would have led to the gold standard of indoor riding
{{3}} Sounds interesting! I've been looking for a versatile e-bike that I can use both indoors and outdoors. The freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike seems like a game-changer, especially with its indoor recharge feature. The brushless motor, impressive torque, and top speed of 20mph are definitely appealing. The 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires also ensure a smooth ride in any condition. And let's not forget about the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature that helps with fitness goals. Overall, it seems like the Morph e-bike offers a perfect blend of fitness and technology. Can't wait to learn more about this innovative e-bike project!
A BIG factor for me, is how durable and thus how reliable the trainers are. I Really like the Suito for the price and many reviews are great, but from reading on forums many people seem to have issues with it. I'm doubting between the Kickr Core, Elite suito and Directo XR and I can't figure out which is the most durable and what brand has the best customer service and warranty!
Hi Robert, Simon here - I've been using an Elite Direto XR for over a year now and haven't had any issues, so I'd say its long-term durability is absolutely fine. That said, I also know friends with Kickr Core's who have had similar experiences, so there's probably not much in it. Thanks for watching!
I'm on my second Wahoo trainer. I upgraded from a Wahoo Snap to a Kickr. They make great products. My son now has the Snap and it's still going strong.
@@markstone722 i was thinking of getting a flux 2. What kind of issues are you facing with it? Would you recommend I rather go with kickr core or elite instead?
I don’t get it - you claim Elite Suito and Wahoo Kicker Core to be one of the quietest trainers with levels over 70 dB, while Flux S is at 60 dB, so it is 10 times quieter. Even the cheapest Tacx Flow is at 68 dB. Or am I missing something?
What I want to know is how do they rate on the perceived effort compared to riding outside. I currently use an H3 and I have to pedal much harder on it to achieve the same speed that I ride at outside. Is this just the nature of all indoor trainers or am I missing something on the setup of the trainer?
I tried an indoor trainer for a season and found it inhumane... So i picked up a mountain bike w winter tyres and now ride outside year round.. Prob cheaper too
I have the Tacx Flux S. The belt is realy noisey. I got a new trainer under warranty and the new one is noisey too. And its not stabile. If you ride close to 1500w its close to tilting.
1:01 - resistance WILL BOT be easyer, "when rining in a groop"... Your speed in zwift will be faster, so you will have to put less power to the pedals. But resistance as it is in not changing.... Video stars from a mistake on the first minute. "Impressive" pros...
@@xyzxyz7947 The Volt is truly whisper quiet, it's stable (feet arms fixed like the core), very easy to setup, all you need is in the box, and connections to it have been rock solid. Yes, you're also not paying the "I've got a Kickr Core" price. Power numbers are accurate, elevation changes are quick, ride feel is good. Only downside is the Android App, but I only ever use it to do firmware updates and spin calibs. Random plus, it makes to the shade the colour of my Ribble custom paint job.... ;)
@@saintuk70 Thanks for the detailed response man. I agree that the price premium for the core might largely come from the brand aspect. I'm buying this in India where this market is new and there's not much clarity on which company offers the best after sales service. Thanks for your help :)
Elite suito is not repairable, it was indicated by the manufacturer himself, I had such a machine, after 2 thousand km problems began with it, there were some clicks, then it turned out that this machine underestimates watts by 35-38 from the dzero quark
I almost bought a wahoo kickr 5 two days ago until I found that it's not compatible with my giant tcr advanced pro disc 2021, the shop had no through axle adapters in stock..! I suppose I could use my cannondale synapse but I prefer riding my tcr, good informative video though thanks 👍
Hi - did you find a compatible trainer? Have the same bike and shopping around for a direct drive trainer atm. Also need to buy a 12 speed cassette so the trainers that come with cassettes don't make much difference to me
That 105 cassette is a horrendously noisy choice for those super quiet high end trainers and not much of a bonus if you have an incompatible drivetrain. Put a red axs cassette on there with a clean chain and your drivetrain noise on even the quietest trainer will become background again.
Do you mean the cassette that comes with the Suito? The video says it comes with 105 but mine came with a Sunrace cassette, and it was horrible!! I swapped for an Ultegra cassette and it’s pretty good. Ultegra cassettes are the best IMO when you factor in cost. I’m sure the Red AXS cassette is amazing but they cost almost as much as the trainer! haha. Clean drive and wet lube is my go to. Oh and turn the music up.
The Wahoo cassette will not work for everyone. For many it does add to the price of the Neo not having one - but it also pushes you to get the exact same cassette as when you are outdoors. My biggest problem was that its so hard to even buy a cassette today.
@@chrisbayliss3532 It takes me 25mins to dive into the details of just one trainer. 10 trainers in one video is a solid effort. It'd be longer than the Lord of the (chain) Rings trilogy if I did 10 in one video.

Noise will not vary with watts. It varies with cassette and or wheel RPMs. I'd think you would have noticed that if you went in depth with these trainers.
We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
Has anyone tried the Tacx Flux S with a 2021 TCR Disc? I haven’t found a trainer yet that is compatible with this bike. My Suito T rubbed on the frame when mounted.
The law of diminishing returns comment with bike trainers is absolute bo11ocks, true with bikes though...... Let me explain why, from actual experience..... If you buy a mid range trainer, say from elite, it will either be inaccurate, loud, slow to change power in erg mode, have minimal firmware updates, spindowns, junk manufacturer support, made of plastic, or probably all of the above faults in 1 product. Not only that, but you will spend hours and hours of frustration trying to get something to work out of the box, that will always be sub-standard. It becomes a waste of £500, £600, £700 etc. Spend £1k on a Wahoo kickr (places do 36 months interest free on it), and everything is spot on out of the box, it just works and is smooth as butter. Sell it 2 years later for £700, so really 2 years of training has only cost you £300 and saved you from having wasted £700 on a piece of mediocre junk that just causes you endless hassle and frustration. 👍🏿
If You are buying a new one, Don´t buy Suito. Resistance regulation is odd. A slight uphill and You will get tremendous resistance spike. Also does odd resistance spikes on downhill. Not worth the money. Buy something else.
I have one and clocked a few thousand miles on it with no troubles and resistance is extremely smooth, gradual and no discernible spikes . Maybe you had a dud ?
@@ChamucoDS hi, yes I do. Garminin has just taken over the company, so looking forward to future software updates. I'm really enjoying the Tacx Flux 2, the only issue I found is that it needs to be calibrated on the Tacx app prior to each ride to get an accurate simulation. It's just about logging onto the app then pedaling for 10 seconds and you're done. If that's not an issue for you then considering the price and functionality I'd highly recommend it👌🏼
I use the Elite suito and I am very unhappy with it. The Software is terrible! Update don't work. Calibration, don't works. Speed on the bikecomputer around 600km/h. And on top of this, if you don't use Zwift and want to use the Elite software you have to bay for a abo to use standard smart trainer function as power control, gradient control or following a track! I clearly don't recommend this trainer!
Do you have a wahoo bike computer? There seems to be an issue between wahoo and elite... you pay to use zwift. Or you pay to use elite software. Choose... i think its not that weird.
When we shot this video Zwift hadn't made a trainer but we have since featured them on the channel. There will likely be a big smart trainer test again in 2024 so keep a look out for that
Everything is 4+ and everything is great. Well they got their video views but it is a laughable test. Sponsored by Zwift so they are all good to be used with Zwift. Shit journalism.

Wahoo kickr. Pricey, but very happy with it 👍
Hot tip: save yourself from headaches & spend more on a smart direct drive trainer. Don’t buy emotionally and read and watch a lot of user reviews online. Save save save, then make an informed decision!
Plus: after a while you wont remember the price, but will still thinking about the better alternative. Saris h3 is best of both worlds i think
Flux S also works without power and simulates then flat road condition, so Neo isn't first or the only one with such feature.
No comment on power accuracy of the Elite Suito T?
Hi Trevor, our tester found the Suito matched Garmin Vector 3 pedals well, in terms of power accuracy. You can read the full review here; www.bikeradar.com/reviews/training/indoor-trainers/resistance-trainer/elite-suito-review/
I think that in the future, there might be a sound isolation plate that will fit over the rear of the drivetrain
Is there any smart trainer for mini velo(451)?
Indeed the best rated trainers
Having owned the Elite Direto XR I found that the change in power when it hits a climb or a drop is way beyond what you feel on the road, and nothing like as smooth as it should be. It feels like it knocks down 3 or 4 gears as soon as it hits a gradient, and that comes straight in. This is not normal and can make using it really annoying. Nowehre near as smooth as the Wahoo.
This is an unbelievably helpful video. Many thanks
Awesome review
Hello sir, why Tacx Flux 2 not added on nominations?
Do you know if the elite zumo is compatible with a 9 speed cassette?
Hey
I was wondering which home trainer can I choose if I want to regularly swap bikes (my wife bike and mine) ?
Exactly, durability and customer service are factors to consider. Tacx used to be good, now it is Garmin with Garmin service.
Pretty much every trainer has some horror stories, I have a suito for almost a year now and its still great no weird noises.
Wahoo is the no brainer
I'm very much a beginner but pretty happy with the Tacx Flux S. Direct Drive is definitely the best way to go.
Unfortunately they are not very reliable. I had 6 in 18 months. Now on the flux 2. This is now playing up.
@@markstone722 i was thinking of getting a flux 2. What kind of issues are you facing with it? Would you recommend I rather go with kickr core or elite instead?
@@xyzxyz7947 they get noisy and start to squeak as well. Anything above 80 watts. Also they are not very accurate. Sometimes out by 100 watts.
@@markstone722 oh 80W is nothing. So doesn't look like a good buy at that price point.
@@markstone722 thank you very much for the help
where can I buy that bike kit you're wearing?
Hi Da Mu, I'm afraid BikeRadar kit is not for sale, but you can unlock it in Zwift for free; www.bikeradar.com/news/ride-in-bikeradar-kit-on-zwift/
Excellent review! Thanks!
What about the Thinkrider x7?…;-)..
And he even doesn't mention dB levels for all trainers. Strange.
What I want to know is how do they rate on the perceived effort compared to riding outside. I currently use an H3 and I have to pedal much harder on it to achieve the same speed that I ride at outside. Is this just the nature of all indoor trainers or am I missing something on the setup of the trainer?
Thanks, I was thinking of getting the H3. I'm guessing the 9kg flywheel has to do with the slow acceleration.
My Suito-T stopped working after I used it only two times. The motor makes a strange noise and the restance stays at high.
thanks for g8 information.
Wahoo kickr v5 🙌🙌🙌
I tried an indoor trainer for a season and found it inhumane... So i picked up a mountain bike w winter tyres and now ride outside year round.. Prob cheaper too
I have a Tacx T2180. For me, it is at the moment more then enought. For the future who knows.
No Kickr Snap?
It scored 4/5 when we reviewed one a while back www.bikeradar.com/reviews/training/indoor-trainers/resistance-trainer/wahoo-kickr-snap-review/
Hi
I have just bought a specialized creo ebike and was wondering what, if any, trainer could I use with it
Could tell the % of inclination emulated in each one
Elite Suito-T doesn't include cassette.
That last one makes me wonder why any smart trainer should need to be plugged in.
The description of the tacx s is Almost the same as last years video😅
No Jet Black Volt, which having owned both I prefer, by far, to the Elite Zumo - think the Volt should have found its way into this review.
Here I have also a Volt. I’m happy and good price.
Would you prefer the volt to the kickr core? I'm getting volt at a significantly lower price and it seems to have the same functionality.
@@xyzxyz7947 Jetblack is an Australian company, doesn't put me off here in the UK
Lol your shop is full of shit. The Kickr comes with Thru axle adapters. Source I have two Kickr 5's.
I'm borrowing my friends Wahoo Kikr Core and I don't want to give it back now ha!
WHAT?! 1.400$ for the Tacx Neo T2 and you still have to buy a cassette separately???... the Wahoo Kickr seems more worth the money to me
The Wahoo cassette will not work for everyone. For many it does add to the price of the Neo not having one - but it also pushes you to get the exact same cassette as when you are outdoors. My biggest problem was that its so hard to even buy a cassette today.
Sorry what, the Suito-T does not come with a cassette - even Elite themselves say so.
Rating the noise at 200 watts on one trainer and 20 mph on another is not great.
no this really isnt at GP Lamas quality is it?
@@chrisbayliss3532 It takes me 25mins to dive into the details of just one trainer. 10 trainers in one video is a solid effort. It'd be longer than the Lord of the (chain) Rings trilogy if I did 10 in one video.

Noise will not vary with watts. It varies with cassette and or wheel RPMs. I'd think you would have noticed that if you went in depth with these trainers.
Not a single word about elite suito power accuracy :( In my experience it is bad.
What no Wattbike?
Hey Ian, this test focussed on smart trainers. You can see our test of indoor bikes here: www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/indoor-bikes/
I sold my Wattbike to get the Neo T2. Best swap ever for me.
@@Ah_Lee_Sunhow you geeting on with the Neo bike?
Hi did you find one in the end? Have the same issue ...
@@iluvarun Yes. The 2021 Tacx Flux S (the one after Garmin took over Tacx) comes with Thru axle adapters that fit the TCR.
@@Clashing0N thanks very much.!!
The Tacx Flux 2 can simulate gradients of 16% not 10%🙂
Hello Eddy do you have the Tacx Flux 2, whatbis your opinion?
@@ChamucoDS hi, yes I do. Garminin has just taken over the company, so looking forward to future software updates.
I'm really enjoying the Tacx Flux 2, the only issue I found is that it needs to be calibrated on the Tacx app prior to each ride to get an accurate simulation. It's just about logging onto the app then pedaling for 10 seconds and you're done. If that's not an issue for you then considering the price and functionality I'd highly recommend it👌🏼
Why do all the smart trainers need extra power? You could easily use the power you put into it, can't you?
Not all require external power, e.g. the Neo, as mentioned.
Doesn't Zwift make smart trainer. Were they not good enough to make the list?
When we shot this video Zwift hadn't made a trainer but we have since featured them on the channel. There will likely be a big smart trainer test again in 2024 so keep a look out for that

Do not get suito please.
Try to add to it the virtual reality (VR)

Everything is 4+ and everything is great. Well they got their video views but it is a laughable test. Sponsored by Zwift so they are all good to be used with Zwift. Shit journalism.
