I bought the canik mete sfx a while back Just a random impulse buy and I am now a huge fan of canik that thing is super fun easy shooter an as accurate as Any gun twice it's price just can't beat it for the money They are a very good value proposition
I recently got a Canik. I think my other pistols will forever live in my safe now 😆
I have the Canik with the matte gold accents and I love that thing. It's my favorite pistol to shoot over several way more expensive options. I can only imagine how well the all metal one shoots w/ the extra weight. The triggers are awesome.
I think honest outlaw said the impulse was worse with the all metal frame. I'm not sure though.
Note that Canik uses magazine supplied by Mec Gar. The same company that makes magazines for Beretta 92's, Sig 226, Taurus G2 and G3 series, and other companies.

I really want to try out one of the METE MC9, all guns should come with everything you need that's such a nice feature to not have to go spend another $2-300 on accessories.
I would say that the Canik SFX Rival-S seems like an excellent option for those looking to get into competitive shooting without breaking the bank. Century Arms and Canik have a reputation for providing high-quality firearms at an affordable price point, and it's great to see that they've continued this tradition with the SFX Rival-S. The fact that it comes with all the necessary accessories out of the box is a huge bonus, as it can save new shooters both time and money. Overall, it's exciting to see such a well-rounded package available at such a reasonable price.
I have an SFX 5.2in that I like a lot. This one looks really cool! I really like Caniks.
I own a Canik TP9SA. It has a fantastic trigger.

It must have been over ten years ago, but a gun shop in my area had the Caniks from that time. They came with all of the stuff in the case, and only cost $325.
I had no idea what they were. They felt good, and the quality seemed to be there. I was working in a steel factory, killing myself for very little money.
$325 seemed like a lot to take a chance with at the time.😅 Now i feel like an idiot for not getting one.
Caniks are still cheap
$525 plus $20 shipping and FFL fee 10 years later for a Rival that has a much better trigger than what was in Canik handguns 10 years ago is a great deal considering inflation and considering one would need to spend $100+ on the old Canik to put an upgraded trigger in it. The only thing you lost was 10 years of enjoying the use of a Canik.

I really like my Rival Blackout but would probably get the chrome finish of the Rival-S. This is the first of about 5 reviews I watched where the reviewer said they did not like chrome finish and preferred the black version.
The thin front sight post if designed for competitive shooting while a wider front side is designed for self defense. I like the front sight on my Rival Dark Side but changed out the red fiber rod for a different companies rod and different color. The red fiber on mine did not glow at all regardless of lighting conditions. I have other firearms with fiber optic front sights that do glow in the right lighting so know what to expect. It was a small issue. My Rival also shot high by several inches even after I moved the sight as low as it would go. I had to remove the spring under the rear sight to be able to move the rear sight low enough so that POI matches POA.

I own a new Dark Side. It weighs 42.6 oz with an empty mag. Just makes IDPA SSP weight. I replaced the stock recoil spring with a 15 lb Glock spring. Shoots really flat with my 160 gr reloads.

I’ve got a Tp9 V2 that I’ve shot quite a bit. No problems yet and the trigger is phenomenal

I have the canik TP9 DA.......love it
My only handgun is a canik tp9 sfx. A little hard to conceal since it has a 8" barrel and I'm skinny but other than that I love the handling and accuracy about a canik.
The number one reason I don't own a Canik is that i am a Turkish citizen living in Turkey and it takes so damn long to get a gun licence, by that time canik throws out at least 5 newer models.

Good piece of kit I used to work in a gun store sold a lot of them, and most of the people that bought them said they bought them because it came with the holster and all the other goodies

My mags don’t seat with the mag well installed. Other than that the gun is absolutely awesome. I have three Caniks and this thing is easily the GOAT. I’m gonna get a Polymer version too. Maybe the dark side since I have the chrome. Great video!
Check the little "tab" on the mag that holds the base in place. It may be out a little & bind in your magwell. The T.Freelance magbases fit absolutely flush to mag in the back & fit in my Rival S, Tp9sfx & my cousins Rival with no issues at all
Are you using the plus 2 base plate? It says in the manual I believe that those won't fit w/ the magwell. You can do some fitting on the magwell to make them work from what I hear.
@@Toolness1 I'm using the metal baseplates not the plus two. I like the mag well but not enough to start messing with anything. I'm not competing and the mags go in and out just fine for me.

I found two while I was fishing. Them I had a boating accident and lost them 😂😂😢. The rival w/gold accents and the sfx they were fun!
With the sights I'm just the opposite. I love the thin blade red dot. I shoot my Rival S better than any gun I've ever had. Have pretty much the same sights on my Elite SF. I don't see me making any change with the sights on those 2 guns
I love my rival blackout. I'm buy a solid brass kit that gives you a solid brass back strap, mag well flare, and +4 brass base plates. Gives you a bunch more weight. But an all stainless one would be awesome
I love the look and reliability of canik,the reason I don't own 4 or 5,is because they don't have a thumb safety,tell them to bring some of their guns out with thumb safeties and they will get more sellls
If only I could find the chrome in stock somewhere, maybe I should've bought the Darkside version I saw up on Brownells for a minute early Monday.

I have a Rival, and absolutely love it. Great range toy, and very reliable. Not one issue in 1200 rounds.
I was telling people today, a Canik out of the box will destroy the best, most super hi performance Glock any day bullet for bullet. I have a number of Glocks and a number of Caniks and the Caniks are by far much better guns.
I get a bit salty every time I see this gun. I got the Canik Rival as my first pistol and found out 1-2months after that this steel version was coming 🤬, and even worse the slides are interchangeable and even if they were they said they wouldn't sell them separately anyway. Like come on

Cool gun. Serves no practical purpose beyond carry optics uspsa , assuming it meets those guidelines. Admittedly I have no clue.

I just got mine and 1 complain you have to pull the slide all the way back for the ammo to load into the chamber (otherwise, the ammo will get stuck halfway )..... this does not happen with my smith and wesson 2.0
