Absolutely love the laid back vibe of just approaching people and offering to shoot cool guns. Very wholesome!! Plus, we got to see that most people agreed the rival was heavier shooting

This is probably the funnest channel I've seen in 6 months. It's one thing seeing competitive shooters review a pistol but entirely another doing an impromptu focus group with random average dudes. I am one of said random average dudes that buys pistols. Some pistols I think I'll love in a shop then end up kind of liking and random pistols that I think I'll kind of like end up loving. The two that come to mind were approximately the same time about 3 years ago when I bought a Walther PDP and a Canik Mete whatever combination equals more than 5" and they are both great to shoot.

I lucked out out yesterday. Academy had two TTis in stock yesterday on sale for $899. I got the First Resonders 10% off also. Snagged it at about $810! Awesome pistol.

I was using the tires for a reference line, to me it looked like the TTI had less recoil than the Rival S, but it was close. Letting people you don't know shoot your 500 was cool, but it was a little warm for those two. The power is amazing. Thanks for all of the great videos OB.

yea and they had a large optic on the tti which increases the moving mass and increases muzzle flip so it'd be even better with no optic.

Usually for me, a break in on a pistol would be the mags. Loading and emptying them over and over to get the spring pressure down some. My SFX jammed a few times because of it until I ran it several times (4 or 5) for each mag. Your issue might be the recoil spring being too tense since it's a different problem.

I just stumbled across your video. In answer to your question, the Çanik TTI Combat is the lighter shooting one. I purchased one in the last few days. Got it at MSRP, Military Discount, and taxes (VA) I walked out at $968. Not bad at all. Thank you for doing the comparison for us.

@@lifewithobI'm used to shooting a comped 1911 and when I got the TTI (did manage to get it at MSRP) I was slightly disappointed, due to the weight difference. I was wondering if the steel version would Frankenstein. Now I know, thanks.
When I was sighting mine in it shot great but the gun makes me want to go fast. A little too fast and I'm all over the place on paper. I was a little disappointed. However, my first match was bowling pins and my first table was 4.14 (5 pins off a 2 tiered table). My subsequent tables; 3 in the 4s but 2 in the 8s. So, with a little practice, maybe added weight and maybe a thumb rest (accelerator), I'll be happier.
Got a new subscriber. Thanks for the vid.

  • @johnfriend862
    @johnfriend862 Місяць тому

A comparison I've been wanting to see, I'd like to have heard your input on the difference in triggers. I'm still leaning towards the Rival S, because I'm not a huge fan of polymer duty pistols. A steel frame TTi would be awesome! I've still got time, as nobody makes a duty holster for a Canik with an optic and light. The LE representative I spoke to left something to be desired, she didn't know the products well at all, but LE pricing is good.
BTW, the failure you had was a failure to extract, not a failure to eject. Sometimes a rough chamber will cause that, or extractor issues. I'd chalk it up to new pistol, keep running rounds through it and see how it does. I run at least 300 rounds through any pistol before I'll carry it. As far as last round slide lock back, I've got 2 STIs and 2 Staccatos that have taken about 50 to 100 rounds before the slide locked back reliably. I've really been digging the stuff from Canik, my backup/small off duty pistol is a Mete MC9, I've shot two duty qualifications with it and scored 100 on both. Shockingly accurate, and great trigger. Not as good in either regard as my DVC Carry or C2, but at 15 to 20% of the price it's a really nice pistol, one I'm not scared of scratching.

  • @tonym362

My Rival-S came with an 18 & an 18 with a +2 baseplate, like the older TP9SFX had. I also had 2 extra aluminum baseplates that did not add extra rounds but had a little more depth & easier to grip & rip during a match.

As far as recall or muscle flip, I would think one having the site mounted would affect it. That white set a pound a slide, and would create more of a rotational effect as it comes to a stop I would think I think you would need to have both with open sites are both with the site mounted to really feel the difference.

Did you use Canik screws to mount the optic?

Love the energy. Personally wasn’t a fan of the TTI Canik. Big fan of the rival steel. Gotta get your hands on a Glock 17 with a radian ramjet. Much flatter than the tti Canik 🤙

Wish my mc9 would run like that! They’re sending me a brand new gun! I think I got a lemon out of the first batch that got released.

what was your mc9 doing? i have one, and it eats all fmj rounds, just picky with which hollows i run.

@@derekhuey4979 I had 650 rounds in and I was getting out of battery issues and Jams on the feed ramp. Speer gold dot 124 jammed, federal punch 124and Winchester white box 147 hallow point. I even had a FMJ nose dive so hard on the feed ramp it took a chunk out. I sent that gun to canik once because when I first got it my rounds would even jam on the feed ramp when racking a round. They returned the gun with a polished feed ramp and new spring still had issues. I contacted them and they’re sending me a brand new mc9. Idk what it is with these mc9s but there’s clearly been issues but then there’s other people who run thousands of rounds no prob. Sounds like a quality control issue to me. I tell people all the time go out and shoot 1000 rounds through your carry gun because stuff like this happens.

      What problem were you having

@@lifewithob 650 rounds in I was having out of battery issues and failures to feed. 124 speed gold dot, 124 federal punch, 147 WWB hallow points. I even had a FMJ rounds slam so hard on the feed ramp it took a chunk out. This was after I sent to canik and they polished feed ramp and new recoil spring and had those issues after the fact. Their customer service was great though and I’m getting a new mc9. There’s been issues with certain batches so that tells me there’s a quality control problem. I know guys that’ve shot a few thousand rounds no issues. I’m guessing they’ve worked the issues out with this new one I’ll be getting. Fingers crossed because I like the gun. For now I’m rocking the shield plus which is fantastic.

maybe by shot show 2025 im betting they will have more TTI models
    1. a TTI combat the same as the one thats out now but a darkside ( different cerakote, darker or blacked out version ) like the THE SFX RIVAL and THE SFX RIVAL darkside or the rival S black and chrome or the miami day and night
    2. a steel frame... TTI-S
    3. the flip the script and make the same TTI, but infuse the polymer grip with tungsten like sig TXG grips

Hey big bro, i both of mine week after the release. Due to Illinois laws, but this was my first thought. Can the tti slide mix with the steel frame. I was so sadly disappointed.. but i thought the same thing. They was not gonna allow that mix to happen with a upgrade charge. If you at the inside of the frame it is just a lil different... But nice try
