Hey Curtis, you might want to consider backing into driveways when in less than desirable neighbourhoods. In that way those passing by casing out potential victims can’t see what’s inside your van, making it a little less tempting. Anyway, stay safe man.

Love watching you work, I have recently started doing my own HVAC maintenance at my own home, except anything to do with gas and have learnt so much with your daily presentations. Thanks for sharing your daily routine, I always look forward to see what problems you encounter and how you solve them! Great work!
Good repair!! Seems like every where you go somebody is after you with a weed whacker 😅. The Bosch units look pretty good and I’ve heard good reports from them. If you can get em where you can make money and install them affordable you’ll be busy I’ll come down and give you a hand lol. Bout all I could give here lately lol
Good job take the easy with the hard the nasty with the clean part of the job ud b surprised how many times a tech forgets to check the drain plugs and u show up to a motor burnt out full of water few more parts and they will have a new system 😊👍
I've installed about 25 so far they are absolutely worth it. I installed a 3 ton indoor with a 5 ton outdoor with no heat strip. You can safely oversize condensers on these. The customers oil fired combi-boiler didn't need to run heat last winter. Only issues so far is a condenser fan motor screeched to a halt and they tend to run better with dumb thermostats (or at least with cycles per hour set to 1).
1:32 - Sounds like the compressor is in internal bypass? Aha! Condenser fan motor failed. I've been watching too many HVAC videos... Well, if I ever need to make a career change, at least I have some HVAC background! 😆
3:29 it should absolutely be illegal to have dogs chained up. 1st offense $1,000 per dog. 2nd offense $4000 per dog. 3rd offense 6 months in jail. Absolutely disgusting. Like why have on if all you're going to do is leave it outside chained up.
I really really wish they would make it so you could choose a suction pressure / saturation temp. The default 47 degree and the accelerated cooling 37 degree coil target temp are both way too high for good humidity removal in humid climates. It would be absolutely amazing if you could select something lower like 33 or 34 degrees to just keep the coil above freezing but wring out as much moisture from the air as possible.
I have a Bosch 19.5 SEER electric package unit installed a year ago on my Park model home in the Coachella Valley and it has provided incredible comfort in our 120 degree days/90+ nights while keeping my electric bill 25 percent lower than the 14 SEER unit it replaced. I could not be happier with this unit or my service from Blair HVAC.
IMO, they should make 2 cable outlet options. One on the "front" and one on the "side", so installer can have the option to not block the access panel!
I'm a little scared of Bosch.. they look so cheap. But I'm going to have to start selling something else because all my distributors are out of heat pumps USA wide. I'm kinda glad to see you installing them.
Not cheap at all. I've put in a couple and they're built nice. The last Bryant I put in half the screws weren't screwed in all the way and some were missing.

you should have turned the truck around so your not exposed to the street incase you get a DRIVE BY plus have a video camera install 360 on the van running in case you get jumped maybe even borrow one of the fighting pit bulls he raising tie it to the front bumper lol I would not get caught dead in that neighborhood best of luck
There are a couple of pairs of wires coming out of the motor; two orange, two yellow. Connected orange-orange and yellow-yellow, the motor turns in one direction. Connected orange-yellow/orange-yellow, it turns in the other direction. He sets it based on the direction that will have the fan exhaust out the top of the condenser.
id refuse service with no other way to get back there besides walking past that fence that tree is equally as terrifying.. that things just WAITING to fall on someone or their car.
BOSH (which includes Johnson Controls brands), Lennox and Trane have all decided to use R454B. Honestly its a silly decision since 454B is a blend that includes R32 and has a lower capacity.
I don't think those Ruud condenser are big enough. It seems like you replace more of those than any other brand. Maybe having only two blades isn't enough air flow. JAG
maybe this will help.... THE WONDERFULL Rocky Kanaka who sits with humane society dogs in the kennels to help them out of their scared state, uses some sort of AI sound canceller in his phone or cameras? of all the other dogs barking (but not his voice) in his videos. I say this out loud every time but he doesn't listen. He needs some USA made drill headed screws. He's going to stick one through his finger one of these days.
For the new techs: He talks of "plugs", These are typically plastic in what looks a bit like a lubrication hole, but that's not it - it's for water drainage.. Remove the plug that will be facing down.
"Self tapping screw" is a bit of a misnomer. You need a dent in the surface you wish to screw into. If not your "self tapping screw" becomes and " self dancing screw"😅
Being a HVAC trainer for Sears and having my own company for a number of years, my suggestion for you is to treat "every" repair as if it was your own. Those are guard dogs, any where in chains length.
Never understood people who just get a dog just to have them chained in the backyard 24/7.....
Its just to alert to people nearby. Security alert really.
And illegal to keep dogs chained up in your yard in a lot of places.

Yes I think Bosch is the best. One problem china owns them now and I refuse to install one in my house
China has lots of foreign investors since labor costs there are lower!
And now they own York as well.

I e had nothing but problems with those trade pro motors, the condenser motors most of the time but I e had a bad blower motor as well
One problem Bosch is customer service is take forever for answer phone
If I lived there, those dog owners and I would have major problems.
Sorry Curtis, not a fan of the new Bosch units. So far the reliability is just not there. Time will tell I guess....
Hey Curtis have you actually installed a Bosch yet? Curious your thoughts
Not yet

You work in some shady hoods.... I would not be surprised if your van got broken into because they know you got tools and equipment and parts.
Because you were just there you waived the service call? Then charged for the motor and cap parts plus the labor?
Wonder how many times is butt cheeks puckered when he walked by those dogs
Thanks Bosch! Do they make r32 systems?
I don’t think so

do you charge a "lazy bum" surcharge for those with nasty houses?

R454b is a hard pass for me. 410A or R32 all the way!
