And this has kept me out of the "dating arena" I thought the beauty of a man is a deal breaker for me! BUT I seem to concentrate on what comes out of his mouth .I wonder why they would spend minutes or hours talking "silly staff", and I always wonder why they are not familiar with things which appears to be obvious to me! Its crazy .
It's only considered "over thinking" by people who don't like to think much at all. This is why introverts prefer to be alone rather than with thoughtless types.
Even though I do like thinking, there is times when you do overthink it, since others don’t think it out so much.

When I was young, i used to hate being an introvert, i wanted to fit in. My parents thought there was something oddly wrong about me as they want me to hang out with people, have fun. I realise many artist, musicians etc. I look up to are all introverts which comfort me deeply haha.

artery I wasn't to introverted as a kid I was shy and observant. But I did have friends in activities sports, music, ect. But my sis is a big extrovert. She has to ALWAYS be out n about , partying ect. Me.shit I'll take a night of chilling with my girl , smoke s bowl, play some music, watch a movie and take a night drive to a view, over a loud venue bumping into ppl I don't know haha

True but many do have the desire to have a partner too. My second brother was like that but deep down he desired a wife so eventually married at 49 which is late.
I don't get lonely. I seek solitude.
I left society years ago to pursue a lifestyle in nature.
I live on the National Scenic Trails and National Forests...Hiking, thinking and exploring.
When I come into hiker towns to resupply, I get my little share of social interactions with others.
Within a day or two I'm good to go for another two weeks of solitude on trail... The other hikers I meet on trail or in town seem to have a lot of my own characteristics...so pleasurable encounters.

Extroverts are energy draining vampires. Out of a staff of 35, I'm 1 of 3 introverts. I have great difficulty trying to keep up with their execessive talking and child like behavior. After a few rounds of group activity,I feel like I ran around the block 100 times.

Hooray, I just found out that I'm an introvert. I am so happy to learn that I'm not stupid 😄 I kind of thought so but was never sure. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. My dad always told me keep my mouth shut and let everyone think I was stupid, better than opening my mouth and removing all doubt. He was such a encouragement to me and my brother ☹️. Now at 76 I know I'm quite bright, have a good mind and think and learn well. I started painting 6 years ago and I am absolutely in love with it. Have many interests and few friends. Ahh, and my husband and I have been married 56 years and we still love each other. Thanks for the opportunity to share, I don't do it often especially to this degree.🤗

Even worse when you have to anticipate the course of the conversation so that you can get appropriate responses ready, only to find that everything goes in an entirely different direction. Then try to improvise when none of your answers match... 😬
I stutter too at times, especially when too many eyes are upon me, I want the attraction (me) to disappoint them, and quickly too not wanting their return.... It's been proven that stuttering is a sign of intelligence too!

The biggest advantage of being an introvert is that we do not rely on other people for our happiness. In today's busy and impersonal world, people are nothing more than short-term, self-serving acquaintances looking for advantages from others rather than real freindship. This proves itself time and time again whether it's the workplace, schools, neighbors and sadly, even in church.
Remember ... you will always learn more about people and life by using your eyes and ears rather than your mouth!

I dunno how to be a socially isolated introvert in countries with high quality of life, but in my country you have to answer the phone, go to work and communicate with people in order to make some money on living, no matter how introverted you are

Quite fulfilling to know what like minded individuals think.
Another thing you forgot to mention is that introverts make amazing parents. As a introvert i have absolutely no shame in apologizing to my child for any wrong thing i did and trying to make it better for them. I am willing to listen to them without being judgy and help them trough their stuff as best i can and i show them unconditional love because with years of introversion has given me a open mind and shown me what truly matters in life.

Extroverted introvert. I start conversations laugh and talk with people I meet everyday but try to pin me down for lunch or call me out of the blue or get too close and you will experience the most introverted person you’ve ever met in life. Lol

Being an introvert isnt as kool as you make it out to be. It can be very hard being an introvert in a society that prizes extroverts. You feel like an outcast many times, and being a pessimistic person it really is depressing. Especially when it comes to making money, because its not what you know, its who you know. In this society, popularity is more valuable than skill or knowledge. Social currency thats what they call it, and introverts are very poor in it. I know many people who were unqualified for a job position and got it anyways solely based on who they knew or popularity, while the hundreds of job applicants who were highly qualified for the position got passed up; same goes for promotions.
I know right Ive been down that street too they always say that you're overqualified or underqualified but the Extroverts can get the job all day long and DONT KNOW SHIT......But the one that actually knows the job gets thrown to the dogs
I had not realized how much our sense of self is affected as a minority class until I understood myself to have been born this way. And I am enjoying an ever expanding sense of self since then.

Actually i benefited from being an introverted person the people at my job all gets in trouble because there always stoping to talk
I remember on several different occasions discovering that I had a nick name that no one let me on to. In my field of employment there exists a true meritocracy the owners really liked me cause I was a cash cow. That allowed me to aquire my last ten years of employment, when finding any job for most machinists in California was very difficult. As you said it is who you know and few of the owners I had worked for had forgotten me.
I absolutely can’t stand dry, superficial, meaningless conversations. Love and Hip Hop is a prime example. If it’s junk food, I immediately reject it.
I have problems dating women, because most women seek to be the center of attention, there’s nothing interesting within their conversations, relationships lack intimacy, and basically there’s nothing attractive beyond physical dexterity.
I have hardly any friends, because I refuse to settle for mediocrity. I refuse to live a life of ordinary means. I refuse to be a sheep, or carbon copied blueprint of whatever the latest trends/fads/word in the streets are.
I refuse to conform.
I’ve never preferred boring places like the club, strip clubs, wild parties, etc.

I'm definitely introverted but i noticed that i get a lot of energy from spending time with fun people but also love being by myself sometimes. I guess we're on a spectrum instead of just one side.
I've found most extroverts to be very "face value". What you see is what you get, and that's usually not much.
Looks at Asia and much of the west today seeing how most of the existing cultures are of face with China and Japan as well the US (different but same) being the obvious examples.
If your cunning you could alternate between both!

Sometimes i go shopping alone and my extrovert friend said that it's weird. Little did she know it's more peaceful for people like me.

The internet is wonderful for sharing things like this. Young people don't have to feel awkward nowadays, if they are more introverted, more sensitive or if they are different in other ways.
I'm quite introverted, yet I volunteered to stand before over 100 people and talk about a certain subject. It only took 2 people to support me through it and I had (and still haven't) done anything like it before. But, being my introverted self with these 8 strengths, I thought over what I had to say and observed others and delivered what I wanted extremely well. STILL introverted though!!

What a fantastic video on this subject. I do sometimes feel lonely, but ultimately I am able to thrive in solitude because the noise is contained within and the noise of others is not present. Although we introverts sometimes struggle to have our voices heard, our words become more valuable when we speak since we likely talk so infrequently to begin with.

I've always thought the positive qualities of being an introvert are also related to me scoring a 124 on my IQ test back in my 20's. I'm also an INTJ based the Briggs personality assessment scale.
I’m not sure whether there are studies or not, but it definitely correlates. INF(J-P) and INT(J-P) are usually smarter than average followed by the ENT (J-P) types

I'm definitely an introvert and I most definitely do not consider myself with higher than average intelligence. I personally don't think introvert means you're higher in intelligence than an extrovert. Your desire for social interaction is just different, but not intelligence. I used to think I was pretty smart but then I lived, witnessed others, and realized I'm nothing special, for sure

Motivating speech, and coherent explanation! I asked a first year psychology professor about introversion, extroversion; and the professor explained that there is a range of either end of a spectrum, a pole of more so, or less so of either type of personality.

It has been to my great benefit that you share stoic wisdom with me. I have always admired Marcus Aurelius and am delving ever deeper into Stoic philosophy. Thanks to your shift in activities, I am much the more informed, and hopefully a bit wiser.
Although I am definitely an extrovert, I have a side to me that is described in this and other videos that you post online. as a deep thinker, serious and enjoying my own company. Thanks to you, I am able to understand the mystery of introverts and am no longer puzzled by their sometimes detached demeanor and appreciate all that these wonderful analytical (beings) bring to the world.

Regarding meetings: "Ironically, I had to do it for my own sanity..." at @7:28. So perfect! Being an introvert myself in high tech, I've found it's also natural for me to create systems that also work well for others. I _have_ to make the systems to keep sane, so I deeply appreciate the irony.
Every one of these except the 8th one (leadership) are true for me, i hate being the one in command i dont feel i like i have the strength to lead other people, and i cant handle the responsibility of a leader, im scared im going to do something wrong, and be the one to be blamed at. leadership isn't really in my blood
But introverts have to think more what they want to say even though they know what to speak. It happens with me I think at least twice or thrice whenever I have to ask something in the class or I want to describe something.

I love being an introvert. Sometimes I am an extroverted introvert. I love laughing and having fun with loved ones, but I will need a lot of alone time to recover and fill my emotional tank. During this quarantine time, I have never been bored because I have many projects to work on. As a Creative, my brain continually invents and innovates and I can't keep up sometimes. I don't really have time for a ton of socialization. I love my own company 😁. I resonate with all of the content you put in this video, thanks!
when i was young i thought something is wrong with me . i just don’t like to spend so much time hanging out but now that i knew i feel much better ! A True Introvert indeed !!
I'm extroverted, but I despise small talk with a passion! I crave social interactions with meaningful people and, being honest, sometimes I get perceived as an introvert or shy because of that. Kinda sucks 😐

everyone I have cut out of my life tended to be an extravert, I cant be bothered with them, waste of my time and we are only here for a short time in this existence to be dealing with nonsense.
Well I mean extroverts are just really outgoing friendly people. I know tons of extroverts and they are cool. I just can't handle them cuz I'm an introvert but they are good people
@@stanfatou2002 with all due respect, i wasnt saying they are all bad people, just yhat its not just coincedence that all the two timers are allways extraverts and that im not walking through that minefield anymore, in hopes tk find the good ones, rather be alone and talk to kther introverts, thats all.
