In fairness that is how Apple got so huge. when they launched the iPad - the worlds first tablet - the slogan was "you already know how to use it" it was so obvious and simple you could use it with no training
Complexity isn't complicated, even the simplest mathematical expression of fractal design can result in detailed complexity. Your own monkey mind that's now fearful of complexity, is now making your relation with complexity complicated, by yourself virtue signaling simplicity as a reactionary ego defense.

I so agree! No news, no commercials no social media. No drama! If my family or friends want me to know something they contact me directly. I read interesting books and watch UA-cam content like this. I Garden and love my dogs. I’m almost retired and not in debt. I delay gratification. If I can’t pay outright for a want, I don’t buy it! One of the biggest stressors my friends deal with is debt cause things were bought on credit that were desires and not something actually needed. Simple life, best life.
Im so glad i have chosen peace and simplicity for my life. I work as a housekeeper, drive an old car, cook most of our meals at home, have simple and inexpensive hobbies. I dont get my nails done or anything like that...I even cut my own hair! And yet i am somehow seen as less successful when compared to my stressed out peers and siblings who work 50+ hours a week to afford their expensive lifestyles. Such a strange way to live imo.
Good point! But that does not apply a lot of times, many get lucky, they inherit wealth are born in the right place with right parents and networks which makes it much easier to acquire wealth, while others have to struggle just to make ends meet. The country you are born in decides 60% of the income you earn. And what if someone is a beautiful woman who finds some guy to support her and give her a luxurious life with none of the hard work.
I have always lived a simple life. I have always been introverted, and cannot relate to the modern, materialistic world. I retired at age 55, and have had 22 years of peace and contentment with my 3 cats. They make me so happy, and they are thankful just to "have the day" and live in the moment. I had to get off of the hamster wheel because I could not compete with the majority of "successful" people in life. When my father died, I witnessed him going into the retort (oven). The same with my brother. Not to be "gruesome" but to be aware of what we face at the end of this short life. We take nothing with us. Be content to be "alive in the moment". That is all we really have. Thank you for your inspiring videos and insights into Wisdom. Grant Mc Leod
During my more recent bout of depression, my tabby was the primary source of connection and love. He showed me the contentment in each moment, like you mentioned. Happy to be here, with a soft blanket and full tummy.
@@GluteusMax777 I understand, but I do wish I had known before I had a kid. It doesn't feel like I can do what I want, my time hasn't been my own since the kid was born. I know that indirectly, I did choose to keep the kid (even if I thought I was going to have my husband around to help) and so technically I am doing "what I want." But I don't really want to do this with my time. I would like time to wash my hair or see friends. I have had trouble applying this idea with my reality. If I could do what I wanted, I wouldn't be making three meals a day, I wouldn't be picking up toys off the floor, and I wouldn't be fighting a brat about why he has to brush his teeth, only for him to go to his dad who will tell him he doesn't have to listen to me. My time hasn't been my own for years, because I am the only person who cares about whether my kid is okay or not.
Simplicity is not the absence of stuff; it is the presence of absence. A successful life is a judgement of others. A satisfied life is a self judgement. Living with less is living with more. God bless.
I now feel better about myself for not caring about people passing me in my career and life in general because my life has been pretty chill. Thank you!
Many years ago i quit my job and became a manual labourer cause if you are paying for my body and expecting my brains for free then that ain't happening. While doing a "course" for work the teacher got me aside and asked, are you a supervisor or manager or something? I said, nah just a labourer. He paused, smiled and said, well everyone has a story don't they? And over the years of labouring I met some very smart people who just wanted out of the BS and did labouring. Never judge a person by the job they do.
"Đừng bao giờ đánh giá một người qua công việc họ làm." Đúng vậy. Ví dụ: một người làm công việc thông dịch viên cho chính phủ, lương rất cao nhưng lại có đời sống tình dục lằng nhằng, nói năng thì chửi thề liên tục. Một người thì chỉ làm việc vặt trong gia đình, nhìn như thất nghiệp nhưng đời sống tình dục lại thanh khiết, nói năng thì ngôn từ chuẩn mực.
@@adelaova9868 dont judge a person by the job they do in the first place...or... See what happens when you tell people not to judge, while simultaneously judging them? No i don't think you do, else you wouldn't have been hypocritical in the first place. Too concerned with passing some moral judgement on someone.
@@MisterGames in your original comment you say you met 'some very smart people who just did labouring'. What I am asking is: why is that unusual/surprising, as if a labourer was not supposed to be a smart person? I don't understand the indignation and accusation in your reply.
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
This is one of the reasons I became truck driver, it's just me and the road, chat with friends on the phone, travel to different locations all the time, also make a good living, no complaints, Greetings from NC, 🇺🇸!!
I'm about to become an over the road truck driver (again). This video helped me to look at it in a different way. The waiting around can be a time to relax. Though it is NEVER a good time when there are no legal places to park a big truck and the police love writing tickets in the northeastern USA. At least I'll always have a place to sleep as long as I drive the truck.
@@MrMoneyHelper I drive for a regional carrier in the southeast, doing linehaul at night time. That is most of the fun of shopping. Hunting for the best thing. It's not a bad thing if it helps you to get what you want. If you get the right thing and later it isn't as good as expected, sell it at a loss and get a better version. You avoid clutter that way.
The many hours I've spent on UA-cam. How to perform a task, fix a thing, find a great place to live, and to to fill some quiet moments with laughter, or news is never wasted to me. Me. If I look on UA-cam to find a review of something it's because I want to buy something that is good and not waste my time and money on something that others found fault with. But buying something because you need. It, is different because you just want it or other people tell you you should want it. I have a huge problem with advertisements and advertisers. I used to make a big deal about it and my ex-wife used to hate when I did. She liked commercials. What kind of person likes commercials?
@@RobFomenko I am not against advertising. When there is an advertisement that gives me information about something that I need or desire, it helps me to know what exists. I actually prefer advertisements to pushy sales pitches by people. The internet is awesome for testimonials. There might be some fake ones, but real ones exist too. Gadget magazines are essentially big advertisements. Often they have new things about which I would never have thought. I love those. I don't need to buy every gadget out there but it is fun to know they exist. It is true that tv or video ads get annoying when there are ten of them in a row. Ads won't make me buy the product unless I want the product. Ads just inform us. For the weak minds ads probably seem like commands. When I look at cable TV channels devoted to selling things, to me, it is clear that the hosts don't actually love most of the products. Yet they act like they do. Such must be a life sucking job for anybody with the tiniest amount of integrity.

I've commented here before - I own a roll-up mattress, a fold-up table, a chair, clothes, a small box of sentimental items, and my phone/laptop. Two yrs ago, I turned in my car and now walk or uber. I think more clearly with less clutter, and more importantly, my thoughts are focused on life and its experiences rather than "things."
Something I want to share with everyone. I've been working in this particular role at my company for 4 years now and at several times, I've turned down the offer of a promotion (the natural course is to move up the ladder). Of course, it means more money, status etc but I know it also carries alot more stress, pressure and expectation. The reason why in the meantime, I 'choose' to stay in what has become a comfort zone for me is because I am very good at this role, feel valued, people look to me and in truth, there's more security and longevity in this role for me than if I were to move up. I don't care if people think I'm not ambitious because my ambitions lie elsewhere outside of work. American Writer, John Steinback once wrote: "They are all very clever if they want something. They just know the nature of things too well to be caught in that wanting". In principle, do what brings you contentment and don't follow or listen to the crowd. Its' your life to live and not theirs.
The US military won't let officers remain in their same positions or rank forever. If they don't get promoted within a certain amount of time they are forced out. That is why when the movie Top Gun Maverick showed the Tom Cruise character still in active service, I saw the error in the movie. After seeing this video I have a different perspective on my position in this world.
i often think about my friends (in our early 30s) who are constantly striving to obtain houses, nice cars, & ultimately financial freedom, and i see that they are not satisfied with their current situations; sacrificing their time and energy now, to be happy later. i'm not saying that anything is wrong with striving to achieve their goals, but i see myself with an apartment, a cheap car, a girlfriend, a cat, and a simple 9-5 job which pays for those things, and i feel completely relaxed and satisfied with my life as it is. there are of course other things i would like to have, see and experience in life, but my happiness is not dependent on achieving those things. I guess my point is, happiness can only be found here, now, and within; never there, then, and without.
@velourviv2 i agree! a dog chases its tail. if he is unhappy until he gets it, he will always be unhappy. if he is happy regardless of getting it, he will always be happy. or if the pursuit of the tail itself is what makes him happy, thats ok too!

For those of you looking to reduce the burden or choice, you cannot avoid choice entirely, but you can make substitutes such as deciding ahead of time how you will make your decision. Examples: 1. i'll buy the cheapest one that works. 2. If i'm caught between two good choices, i'll pick the one that's closer to my hand at the moment of indecision. 3. At the restaurant, i'll order the first item on the list i enjoy thinking about and not look at the rest of the menu, even if everyone else takes 10+ minutes to order. 4. i'll buy the product with the shortest name. 5. i don't even need to buy anything, so i'll stay home to enjoy the sun and moon for free.
“I’ve made an odd discovery. Every time I talk to a savant, I feel quite sure that happiness is no longer a possibility. Yet when I talk with my gardener, I’m convinced of the opposite.” ― Bertrand Russell This quote is related to the people making a living from just parking cars for rich people.
Anger can be useful when being simple. Hear me out, exercise. I’m a disabled Vet, I like the simple life, but was angry during my younger years, I found exercise, or intense physical therapy as I call it now, helps me focus that anger to something. Balance.
I moved to the US and recently got a job classifying garbage at a festival where I live. It's a simple job and initially I was embarrassed of doing something related with trash. Physical labor was never "my thing" but since it's only a weekend per month I thought I'd take it. It ended up being super interesting. I was helping the planet and getting paid. The team was great and we had free snacks. When we ended our long shift and did our thing, I felt good.

The burden of choice always gets me when I decide to paint. All of those colors and shades are overwhelming and it turns a fun project into anxiety of choice
This is like swimming. A non-swimmer that falls into the water starts to overcomplicate the experience. They struggle and use more of their body than they need to. They try to keep more of their body above water than is necessary. They spend far more energy than needed. They tire themselves out too quickly. Someone like this can tread water for only a few minutes at most before drowning. Whereas a swimmer knows how to conserve energy. Relaxing, steady movements helps you tread water. They do not complicate it by trying to keep more of their body out of the water than is necessary. They sink into the water until almost submerged, and just have enough of their head above water to breath. They slowly and steadily kick their feet and wave their hands, conserving at much energy as possible. Someone like this can tread water for hours if needed.
I agree. It's a great analogy and the one thing that we all have to remember is in the end we all drown. But I would rather drown calm and contented with minimal energy use. Then exhausted and in a panic because I struggled. It is the basis for buddhaism.
I just discovered this channel, and I immediately fell in love. This channel suits me perfectly! It even seems to have a personality like mine! I use this concept primarily in Mathematics. I believe one can learn anything if they take the concept they are trying to learn literally very simple. In my current maths trigonometry class, while they are teaching calculating ratios for different angles, I am always on my rough book pondering on and on for a simple explanation for the entire basics of trigonometry. Like testing whether the edifice I am standing on is strong for me before going to the next layer. I often sit with my best friend, who finds this kind of annoying. And then, one day I decided to give him some new knowledge. You see, the thing is once when you find something so easily understandable, the joy of understanding overwhelms you so much that you desire to tell someone about this. So, when my friend was pondering about radians, I told him the derivation. After some time, I explained to him the derivation of trigonometric ratios from a unit circle graph. His face lit up like a child who has been taken to a heavenly wonderland. He exclaimed, 'Oh! So this is why it is called Tangent and Secant!'. Right now, I am planning to write a notebook dedicated for those who want to learn trigonometry from A to Z and supplying proof everywhere.
It made me laughed when you mentioned about "dating and so many choices". So true that's why I don't date anymore...gave me a headaches...not worth it! Just like going to a restaurant, so many choices of food, so I rather cook at home at least, I know what I am eating and don't have to dress up. The best part of it, very quiet.
Some of my family members ask me how do I always seem less stressful and happier more than them while at home despite not owning a PC or rarely use social media. I told them when you rely less or can do without something, less stress enters your mind. I will direct them to this video as you break it down in better detail than my words.
I think back to the sixties when I was a teenager. A book (or encyclopedia ) was my amusement. Lots of time to stare out the window at the sunshine and foliage. Or as a child, sitting on my grandmother's front steps, watching the ants.
I used to run around and try to keep up and that way got me nowhere. I recently found the way of stoicism and a frugal lifestyle... best things I ever did for myself!
I saw the thumbnail and said: I must watch the video to understand how to be simple ! but I just skipped the video because to be simple is to accept you don't have to understand everything to be simple.
I’m so glad I’ve adopted the minimalist lifestyle years ago whereas I’m grateful and content with what I have than always chasing the next best thing, which helped me be less materialistic. As long as my needs are always being met over my wants, I’ll be fine with whatever life throws at me.
When you were talking about negativity it reminded me of a Dorothy Parker poem. "Four be the things I am wiser to know: Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe".
I would recommend the book "The death of Ivan Ilyich" by Leo Tolstoy. The book is dealing with similar questions - how a wealthy and respected in society person, doing everything that is expected of him by his class, is still not happy, not invincible and ultimately no one truly cares about him. At the end he is alone in his death and burden to his family and "friends".
I think I am very good at dealing with the paradox of choice when I see a myriad of choices I just choose something and don’t look back I try to never second-guess a decision that I’ve made because that is the path to misery.
Have you heard of the shock over solitude study? They got a bunch if people to sit alone in a room for 15 minutes, with nothing to do except listen to their own thoughts, or give themselves a painful electrical shock. 67% of men and 25% of women chose to electrocute themselves, sometimes repeatedly. I feel it gives a really interesting insight into our human nature. We prefer pain over boredom. We will manufacture drama to avoid boredom. That's why healthy relationships make for lousy TV shows. We can't shut down the constant influx of stimuli without freaking out. We're scared of hearing our own internal monologue. I feel like that would make a great video, possibly tying it to Schopenhauer and his pendulum of boredom and suffering. This one was a great one!
Pain was the only option they were presented. We can't really extrapolate that people prefer pain over boredom unless they were given other options to distract from the boredom.
@@WCCXtra oh, I wouldn't want to generalize or oversimplify, I agree with you. I just think these two realities, pain and boredom, are part and parcel of human existence, and it's interesting to reflect which one a person copes better with. The study is a starting point to think about this, the way I see it.
For me, I have a job which pays me good enough. These last few months i have been thinking too much about the next job, improving the skills and attaining international certifcations. I am like, i want all this is to happen at once. But deep inside someone is trying to talk with me in a way that i should stop all this all at once and think carefully about the things i choose to do. I know its just a green light out there i am dreaming, in reality it will get even further away when you get there. So from now on i choose to be simple, calm and let the nature decide. I know its much easier to focus on 1 or 2 things at a time. I don't want to rush things it will ruin the beauty of my day to day life. Instead, i should take one moment at a time and be content for the day and be grateful for it. Slowly i will master my skills.

In order to make complex concepts into simple ones, you've gotta understand how they were never complex to begin with. It's a perspective thing. Our fears make the small seem big and the big seem small. Sometimes you'll meet a person who values simplicity in a way where they've actually made things out to be way more complicated or threatening than they really are. We have a duty to identify these pretentious people and mind the world they live in.
As an ADHD person, simplistic thinking almost is a daily struggle as I could be thinking many different things over the course of a day. Clutter is basically a part of life for me.

The funny thing is it's so much harder to embrace simplicity, because humans' intelligence most of the time is against themselves - thinking more is more. Love this video, keep it up!
Life develops by getting only more complex: from single cells to multi-cellular organisms, which gained conscious and can contemplate life, death and the universe. This is the natural order.
I went from a 3,500 square foot house to a a 320 square foot motorhome and I lived in that for the last 4 years with my German Shepherd dog. Now it's for sale. Got rid of everything I owned. Except for clothes and a few other items. Now I'm heading to Thailand. I don't know that I'll have a simplistic life at first, but that would be my goal. I'll be heading into a small apartment in a condominium. Where I won't own anything. Just the clothes in on my back, and a bank account. Hey, I don't want to get too much more simplistic than that. I always like the movie Jack reacher though where he walks around with nothing and when his clothes get dirty and torn he just goes and gets new old ones. Always good to be reminded.

I lived a simple life, and now I live a busy life, I do what moves me. I didn't care about achievement, and now I do, I just go where life takes me and do what I have to. Sounds simple, but the details rarely are. Cool video.
Great video! I always enjoy each video, particularly the ones focused on simplicity/minimalism. Simplifying my life continually has made drastic improvements for me over the past decade or so.
Thank you brother for such an insight of what life should be. Your video helped me to calm down my mind which always keeps calculating what if this and that, always trying to predict what's next, what I should do next, later I realized I have wasted a good amount of time only on worrying, it has reduced my productivity and mental peace. Now I try to chain my wild mind n keep practicing not to worry much about future. One thing I noticed is mind works faster when I have less thoughts going in mind. But there is another problem though, when I get into chilling mode, I don't even have 0% energy, willingness to learn something or do something, I slowly get into a do nothing zone, and slowly into a zone where I almost ignore all my minimal responsibilities n later I feel like I have wasted my time without doing anything. I am finding it difficult to balance between keeping my mind chilled and running like a porsche.
Everything I own, besides my motor scooter, is in my rented bedroom. The things I use regularly are very few. I've got regular clothes, two pairs of shoes, a lamp, clock, computer, stove, pot, and a bag of vitamins. There are a few other things here that get used, but the rest of my room is full of twenty-three boxes that aren't opened often. Some have not been opened since moving into this place. There are times when I look at the room and want to throw away all of those boxes without looking into them. Yet I know that there are things that I would eventually need or want, especially tools. My mind is attached to all of these things that I don't even use. I have begun using a scanner for photographs, yearbooks, and documents to digitize them. With those images saved, the physical things can be released. It's a start. My fantasy is to be like the fictional character Jack Reacher. He only owns the clothes that he wears as he travels the USA to see the sights. He uses his military pension to pay for motels and food. He doesn't want to own things because they become attachments and would tie him down. Is my desire to be like Reacher just a symptom of wanting to be free of too many things? Would I feel the same if I only owned things that were used regularly? I hope to learn that this year because I'm planning to move again and need to let go of a lot of things before then.
You could try it out on a long trail like the Pacific Crest Trail or the Appalachian Trail, carrying everything you own on your back for a few months. You'll get to see the sights. I've done both. They're a simple way to test out your want, see if it's really or need, or even just a realistic setup for you.
People have to understand that work is an endless cycle aswell as bills and it's up to you to be able to manage that cycle and how to mentally brake it. A job will have u stressed burned out and even depressed. It's important to be able to simplify it and not end up with the mentality of "its never enough" and personally this is why i love this quote. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." - Marcus Aurelius
Absolutely true, simplicity makes our life easier in this complicated highly networked society. A lot about this is all in your head manipulated by media and society. Myself I am a good example. I started a year ago to switch into lower gear from high performance stress job as sr manager in the Silicon Valley to a more relaxed attitude, moved out of the Bay Area and already feel better. That burn out is going to happen over time, seen it many times. A simple life does wonders when it comes to a better balanced mental health.
Resisting the achievement society has been my current struggle. The ego is hard to let go once you have immersed yourself in to the world of making dollars. Finding my balance in nature daily has been quintessential!
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Complexity is my enemy. Any fool can make something complicated. It takes a genius to make it simple.
In fairness that is how Apple got so huge. when they launched the iPad - the worlds first tablet - the slogan was "you already know how to use it"
it was so obvious and simple you could use it with no training
@@piccalillipit9211 I'm sure developing, testing, and manufacturing it was rather complicated.
It starts simple. You're just talking to talk.
Complexity isn't complicated, even the simplest mathematical expression of fractal design can result in detailed complexity. Your own monkey mind that's now fearful of complexity, is now making your relation with complexity complicated, by yourself virtue signaling simplicity as a reactionary ego defense.

If ever jealous of someone's material success, just remember you probably wouldn't want to do everything they did in exchange for it.

Good point!

God bless.

That's why I always refused "leadership" positions in different companies I worked in. There are certain parts of ourselves that just aren't for sale.

Greetings from NC, 🇺🇸!!

The amount of hours I've spent on youtube researching what thing to buy is insane

That's the same way I see it. I already have a life (outside my work/ working hours) which I cherish, enjoy and protect.

I appreciate your choice and am currently striving towards a similar design of life. 😊

Nice analogy
I agree. It's a great analogy and the one thing that we all have to remember is in the end we all drown. But I would rather drown calm and contented with minimal energy use. Then exhausted and in a panic because I struggled. It is the basis for buddhaism.

Life is simple...but we (our thinking), makes it complicated.😊
This channel is a real gem!
It made me laughed when you mentioned about "dating and so many choices". So true that's why I don't date anymore...gave me a headaches...not worth it! As a mathematician i’m told i’m smart. i keep everything so simple that it appears ‘invisible’.
I used to run around and try to keep up and that way got me nowhere. I recently found the way of stoicism and a frugal lifestyle... best things I ever did for myself!
Correct 😊 great comment 😊
I saw the thumbnail and said: I must watch the video to understand how to be simple ! but I just skipped the video because to be simple is to accept you don't have to understand everything to be simple.
I’m so glad I’ve adopted the minimalist lifestyle years ago whereas I’m grateful and content with what I have than always chasing the next best thing, which helped me be less materialistic. As long as my needs are always being met over my wants, I’ll be fine with whatever life throws at me.
Before I started my stoicism journey I always believed I needed to be somewhere but then I learned I didn't have to be anywhere and life was better.
Chính xác. Chúc mừng bạn.
When you were talking about negativity it reminded me of a Dorothy Parker poem. "Four be the things I am wiser to know: Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe".
'Life is simple. We insist on making it complicated.'
*Lao Tzu*
I would recommend the book "The death of Ivan Ilyich" by Leo Tolstoy. The book is dealing with similar questions - how a wealthy and respected in society person, doing everything that is expected of him by his class, is still not happy, not invincible and ultimately no one truly cares about him. At the end he is alone in his death and burden to his family and "friends".
I think I am very good at dealing with the paradox of choice when I see a myriad of choices I just choose something and don’t look back I try to never second-guess a decision that I’ve made because that is the path to misery.
You're in Indonesia?
Lucky you!
I've lived here for 33-yrs. Indonesia is a gem, an absolute gem of a place!!
@@lucpelletier , I see. Thanks for expanding.
Thanks!
Amazing Videos Always helps Me to get back in right direction! Thank you a lot for these gems 💟
Simple living has always been my motto, and even moreso now that I may be forced into a very early retirement. Luckily, I have enough.
*OH MY GOD* yeah I never thought - I used to get a date a week to a date a month when I was like 18 or 20 just going to the clubs, just as a byproduct of going out
it was not the PURPOSE of going out, but you would just get chatting. 90% never went anywhere but that was kinda not the purpose - just meet up for a coffee or a drink, it was just "a social life" Ive just realised that's hardly a thing for young people now.
The internet and smartphone has fuked everything it’ll never be the same in fact it looks like we’re turning to a lifestyle like in the movie the robots
Absolutely agree with your insights on simplicity-reducing noise in our environment and choices not only clears the mind but it can boost our effectiveness. It's a timeless strategy that encourages focus and prioritizes what's truly important. 💡
The funny thing is it's so much harder to embrace simplicity, because humans' intelligence most of the time is against themselves - thinking more is more. Love this video, keep it up!
He always post something whatever is going through my mind at the moment. This is the magic of Einzelgänger.
When I was in the United States Marine Corps all I had was my footlocker and my seabag and I was much happier!
The life lessons i teach my kids, breath, drink, eat healty, shelter, heat, love and family, all the rest is a luxury problem, its ok to have things, but make shure they dont stress you

Simple is better, and better is good.
Freedom from consumerism. I went to Costco to get a few items.. and just look at everyone’s carts over stuffed with unnecessary things.. greed has taken over people’s mentality. The more you have the more clutter!

"It is not a daily increase, but a daily decrease. Hack away at the inessentials."' - Bruce Lee
I'm commuting between my simple life and my desire to take charge and grasp the opportunities that present themselves.
Keep a low profile is my motto. It makes everything so much easier and less expensive. I give no hoot what anyone thinks. I have enough money to go around thank God. But I’d never buy a big expensive car.
As a bona fide simpleton this content resonates with me.
Nothing in my life at the moment giving me peace, maybe simplicity is the way but I won't mind not existing. I won't miss this life
There are a lot of thing to live for. Maybe you won't miss your current life but the life you could have in the future. Think about what needs to change. I know it is hard but since you are here watching the video, you know there is a way, a better, realistic life waiting
I'm sorry to see you are so pessimistic. I can tell you that it's just a phase. It will end with time. Take your time to decide: Change your life or, if you can't, change yourself. You can always change yourself. Good luck and take care of yourself.
I'm a simple person. All I want is food, shelter and a little fun on the side.

*EVERY TIME I STRIP COMPLEXITY* from my life it gets better
I bought a typewriter last month, I literally sleep better the days I write on that V the days I use the computer.
It's the light from the screen :/
@@therichbuddha3277 I dont think so as I have the blue light dimmed by a "natural paper" app on my iMac. I think it is the clutter and the constant mental distraction that I could look at this or do that.
My physiological stress recorded on my Garmin fitness watch goes UP when I work on the computer and DOWN when I work on the Typewriter - I dont have an actual answer as to why this is.
My working hypothesis is the human brian can COPE with a lot more complexity than is good for it. So the fact we CAN work this incredibly complicated system like an iMac, does not mean its good for us.
I think its like exercise - we can do a lot for a short time, but we cant do a lot for a long time.

I miss the analog life, though I love the internet. It brought me here to learn so many great things about spirituality.
I own a motor scooter that has no computers. I own a cell phone only because work requires one. Once I settle into my next job, it will be possible for me to stop using my phone most of the time (if not all of the time). I will connect to the internet using a hot spot and use VOIP for phone calls. I won't be tracked anymore by companies wanting my personal information.
so glad you are now turning back to the light side ... welcome
Simplicity is evolutions highest form.
Always love your content even without watching
What?
I've a simple routine that safeguards and optimizes my recovery quality, which includes my powerlifting and kickboxing trainings in the morning while I'm fasted, so that my body can then rebound from these intense stimulus by upregulating the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system. Simple, not easy.
I own one car, carry no debt except mortgage and will be done with that in a year or two. Let me breathe the air.

Yep…I always wanted to be more than a chimney cleaner, so got educated and managed to get 5 different degrees from fitness to building and even nutrition and mental coaching…made lots of 💰 but also spending it and …along came stress and anxiety ( from my partner and therefore fo me ) from thinking “ did I made the right decisions…”?
Now in my later years (59) i am still chimney cleaning….not because I have to..but because it’s simple and there is a starting point and a finish 😊…wanting less of what is considered “ success “ is more and more coming into the picture…see wat will happen next…
I hope you enjoy your stay in Indonesia 🙏🙏 Thanks so much I have learn alot from your channel.
I am javanese, from Magelang where Borobudur is located. It is the biggest Buddhist Temple in the world and used to be where many people learn about its wisdom. Many local wisdom are derived from it, you could see it in the the locals behaviours and perspectives through life. They understand that in life things come with prices...including their happiness. Many embrace simplicity and minimalist lifestyle as an ❤❤acceptance toward what is llife given to them, Despite growing modernization. . They said it "Nrimo ing pangedum".❤❤

Counter argument: because the man"s wishes were swiftly granted he did not value them.
