  • Took the budget baller integra out to its first dirt race! 200 laps at Gravity Park Speedway in some insane muddy, then tacky, then dusty conditions. Our tire choice hurt us a bit. Still fought some over heating issues. Almost 70 cars started, where did we finish? Watch to find out!

    Do you like the long format videos like this? Or would you rather see shorter highlight style videos? Let me know!

    Thanks for the videos on the budget build car I have binge watched them all doing some R&D building my 12 year old daughters car. She’s moving out of sprint cars it’s no longer in the budget I just can’t use the roll cage you did I’ll have to build from scratch because our rules won’t that type have to use seamless tubing other than that great info

    • @thatracinglife

      Thanks for watching! Next cage I'm doing will be custom made. I only did that one so people can see what they can do at home with basic stuff. Good luck with the new car!

      Planning to! Aiming for at least 1 per week if not more. The more subscribers and views we get the easier it is to keep pushing forward and making more! Last year was slow with moving. Should be racing more this year!

    This is awesome iam currently building a race car on a dirt cheap budget I’m 15 and trying to race a race season at my local track thunder road these videos of this cheap car I love gives me inspiration keep it up!

      Thanks man! I was chomping at the bit too when I was 15. Keep pushing yourself to get out there! Just make sure to spend the money on the safety gear. If you cant afford all the proper safety stuff then you cant afford to race! If you ever have any questions about any of that stuff, feel free to message me any time!

      That Racing Life I have already got all the safety gear the only things I need is a cage and a fuel cell I also got a whole parts car so I can’t wait

    SO how do they keep track of all the cars in the track????

  • @ThunderMS34

    Love the white duct tape on the steering whell LMFAO I put some on mine too. Best thing to do is tap the brakss before corner entry and put a donut on left rear on dirt. makes car handle better. I'd never race asphalt track plus the way we beef our cars up they wont allow us to race on asphalt per rulebook. Beefed up bumper, welded plates on sub frame, welded a bar from left to right on front subframe, everything to prevent that frame from bending beefed rad support.

    • @ThunderMS34
      @ThunderMS34 6 років тому

      also if its hot out take a white towel and soak it in water and wrap around your neck or put an ice pack down your shirt

    • @thatracinglife
      @thatracinglife  6 років тому

      Yeah these cars take a beating on the dirt. The suspensions are not built to handle that abuse. Sometimes you just have to beef up parts so they last more than a week or two!

      Last time I was there someone drove my RR quarter panel from turn 2 all the way down the back straight until pit entry where I hit the wall head on with them still pushing me. Not sure how it is now, but I am not a fan of the rolling demo. I like the track. Nice staff. Super smooth surface. Just cant stand getting wrecked for no reason. :/

      That Racing Life I can see that, when was that? I just started this past month and they have been fairly good with not tearing each others cars up honestly.

    • @thatracinglife
      @thatracinglife  6 років тому

      This was towards the end of 2015 I think it was? Thats good to hear! It seemed to be hit or miss. I ran side by side for 15 laps with the guy who wrecked me the week before and we never touched. Then a week goes by and he decides to wreck me for some reason. If the racing has cleaned up then I would for sure go back! Like I said, nice track!

    • @thatracinglife

      Jeff Flynn I will drive anything honestly. But I think if it's my car, I prefer asphalt. Way less abuse on the machine and I think it's cleaner racing too.

    Glad you did not start in a 300+ race enduro like they did at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire. A lot of drivers never finished the first lap. Lol.
    My dad used to race racecars in Idaho and Colorado. He only managed one trophy dash win in stock cars back in the 1970s at State Line Speedway outside of Post Falls. He was known as The Walking Watermelon because he drove a 67 Ford Mustang painted green and black with a watermelon with legs painted on the side of the car spitting seeds. He never won the big race at all.

    as for clogging the radiator, Ive seen guys put a POS (non working radiator) in front and stick the real one in the trunk area, but most tech guys dont like wise guys.

    • @thatracinglife
      @thatracinglife  5 років тому

      I've also seen the "cheater core" done. But I'm pretty sure we figured out why it was over heating after all. Stay tuned to the new build series to see our solution.

      @@thatracinglife when you stick the radiator in the back, at least you wont $%^ in a crash

    • @thatracinglife
      @thatracinglife  5 років тому

      That's true! But the tech guys don't allow any additional radiators or allow you to move the stock one unfortunately.

      @@thatracinglife with all the different class,s of circle track cars, nobody ever explains the rules. back in my day a street stock was a pure factory body, and pure stock motor including the crappy cast iron manifolds, these days the guys are running tube frames, plastic body panels, 4 barrel carbs on a aluminum intake and headers, I like that claimer rule that keeps the cost down for the enduro pavement races.

    • @thatracinglife
