    Your excellent tutorial helped me out of a tight spot. Today I had to do a roadside puncture repair for the first time and I fortunately watched your tutorial just the day before otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue. I managed to remove the back wheel and change the innertube successfully, a small triumph, but both are jobs previously done by my husband who died six months ago. It means a lot to me to have managed this by myself, so thank you! Cycling is what keeps me sane.

    Been riding bikes for 55 of my 60 years and I just wanted a refresher on changing out the tubes and related rear wheel removal/install. Now that I'm retired to Florida, I can start riding again near beaches instead of on some of the crazy dangerous roads of where I lived in southeast NY. :) Thanks!

      🐚🦦Nice comment. Love the simplicity of bikes but so many bike people videos say nothing with bad rock music*. Worse, are the obnoxious ones speaking ad nauseam with silly face close ups. A Schwinn is a class act. This video reached that level.

    • @cjhoyle
      @cjhoyle  8 років тому +2

      +Greg S Read my responses to other people who have asked this question. Shifting to the smallest chain ring moves the chain and derailleur out of the way so it's easier to take the wheel off, but if you don't do this, it's still possible, just less convenient.

    Good day, sir. Thank you for the video. I have a question about changing the inner tube of a bike tire. Do I need to lubricate the inner tube with bike oil or something like that before put it inside the tire? Because the guy who sold it to me said that the inner tube can wear out pretty fast without proper lubrication. But, for example, in this video (ua-cam.com/video/ueGfr70TJBQ/v-deo.html) the guy didnt lubricate the inner tube at all.
    So what do you think?
    Thanks.

    I have just gotten back into biking, but have never really done much of my own maintenance so I have been looking at a lot of youtube videos. This is by far the best, most simple, superior, and fantastically done one I have found. Thank you!

    Your video helped me very much. I needed help on an old mountain bike and most tutorials are for modern ones. Thank you.
