Take some UV Resin for fly tying, and add a dab around the eye gap. Best way to close up the gap and keep your line from coming through. It seems like anything below 10 lb line can make its way out of little gap. I do it with drop shot hooks and small jig head for bass as well. Luckily its only happened when the fish is in the boat but I want to mitigate that risk as much as possible.
The quality control the hooks has definately gone down the last few years. I pour my own and never had this problem until the last couple of years. I have taken pliers and closed the gap but that puts burrs in the eye. I have actually lost several crappie during the fight that way before I get them in the boat. Thanks for the tip. 👍
What rod are you using? I want to get another spinning rod that I can use for bluegill and crappie but I'm not sure if I should get a light or an ultralight. What rod power and action would you recommend?
I used the No 8 Tackle Company Med Lite 6'6" mostly in this video. I like a little stiffer rod for my crappie fishing. I also use an ACC Crappie Stix in 6' 6" as well. It also is a little stiffer than some like. It is a matter of preference. For Blue Gill I like a limber Ultra Light action rod. Thanks for watching. 👍
Fun 🎉 with the funfetti!!! Good job!!!
That color has been a producer this year for me. Thanks man. 👍

Nice. Man they were feeding this morning on the big G. Me and brother in-law had some fun breaking in his new boat!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND!!
Man I sure hope they are still on when I get back down there. Thanks for the support 👍🎣
Love those black nose in woods reservoir.
The Black nose sure are more aggressive and I think they fight harder as well. Thanks for watching. 🎣

Good job. I was talking to someone about fun fettie today.
I seem to go to that color a lot here lately. Thanks for your support my friend. 🎣
It’s a blast when they turn on like that. They were smashing the Slot Limit Baits. Thanks for sharing.
It sure is. That's why we go. It's not often I actually leave them still biting like they were that day. Thanks for watching. 🎣
