  • Fishing for fickle summer slab crappie can be a challenge, but rewarding! After a long summer of heat and fishing pressure, big crappie can lock up or feed more at night. I'm revealing my technique for targeting slabs on artificial lures.

Haven’t finished watching the video yet, but if I could give one piece of advice from one livescoper to another it’s that once you’re on top of the pile like that you can back your forward distance down and everything on your screen will be bigger. I used to always keep mine at 90ft (I’m a bass fisherman mostly) but I started backing my distance down to 20-30 feet this summer fishing brush piles for bream and crappie. Trust me, try it brother👍 it’ll be easier to show us as the viewers what’s going on and way easier for you to see those slabs suck a bait down. Tight lines!

When you start describing your crappie gear as 10 lb test and 1/8th oz jigs it absolutely blows me away! Up north in Pennsylvania we're throwing 1/32nd oz jigs on a max of 4lb test! Man I would loveeeee to crappie fish the south. Some day 😂

Have you ever tried using a thumper when sandbass fishing? It is a great way to keep baitfish, sandbass, and other predatory fish under your boat, even on these hot Texas summer days! A guy in the DFW area made mine and it’s helped catch several sandbass limits this summer.

I've been fishing for bass for years, over the last year I've been doing a lot of White and Hybrid bass fishing but I want to get into Crappie fishing. Id love to see a "Beginners Guide to Crappie Fishing" type video. Like straight to the basics. Say its someone's first time going out to target crappie, what do they need to know. From set up, to knots, to lure, locations, retrieve. Something like that would be great to see. I know their are a lot of videos like this on YT but one from LFG would be cool to see.

Come fish the red river , right below the dam on Greer’s Ferry lake in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Cold water , trout and smallmouth. Beautiful place, guided float trips are available. The little Missouri above and below lake Greeson in Arkansas is a great fishery also, they’re places I go when it’s hot and nasty , waters always cold !bringing a kayak is key .

So my local lake is Lake Success in california. We have had a really tough time fishing it this summer. We have a lot of trees that get submerged underwater. I would love for someone to help me break this lake down to find the crappie as well as the bass. There was a kayak competition recently and out of 45 anglers only 12 caught a fish. It was brutal.

I once left a mywedge on my outboard, I noticed before I left the dock but when I lifted the motor to pull it off it fell into the muck behind the launch, a month later I’m back at the reservoir and find it on the concrete of the launch so I scooped it with the net, haven’t done that one again

You know those dock crappie will bite that you're seeing up under there you just have to grab the jig and bend the rod over and slingshot the jig all the way to the back. It's called dock sniping and it's the only way I crappie fish anymore! Mainly because all i catch now is huge slabs! Honestly you need to go back to the dock and not worry about filming just practice shooting that jig in between the side of a pontoon boat and the side of the slip. Or better yet between the motor and the pontoons! You have to kneel down at the front of the boat and get extremely close to the back of other people's boat's, but as long as you don't bump their boat your good. Once you start dock sniping you'll forget chasing all those pressured crappie out in the lake. Trust me most people ain't messing with those under the dock, unless slip's are completely void of any boat's.
