Man every time you let them go I’m reaching for them through my phone 😂 But definitely informative. Definitely going to be making some bamboo/cane brush piles with the cinder blocks and quickrete.
also use charlie brewer sliders, they let you work brush without getting hung up. Or make your own weedless lures. plenty of youtube videos by richard gene and others and are easy.
Dude you make it look easy, I’m going to try the real-pause. I’m a bass fisherman but going to start going for crappie. I just bought some of those jigs.
Great video. Can't wait to use your methods! Don't have side image, "Never will" as long as I see fish on Garmin, and be surprised what I catch. "I'll be Happy"! Thank You.
I'm impressed. A fisherman fishing brush getting hung up. How novel. You can mitigate the downtime of being hung in brush by fishing with a 1/32 oz gig head. But you will have to slow down your retrieve.
So you threw a buoy out just as you marked the brush pile.. need to explain then how you set up on that buoy. I seen it in the background but didn’t appear you were fishing where the buoy was at. It appeared it was behind you. Thanks
Ralph, I threw out multiple buoys in that spot. When I turned around off camera I seen another pile and marked it. That is the buoy you seen behind me. I did explain in the video that I drive past the pile turn around and set up generally on the down wind or down current side of the buoy to start fishing it.
Nice video. I have a question, what size weight were you using on your countdown? Do you typically use the same weight when fishing a brush pile? Thanks again for the video, very informative.
How deep are you getting on the 10 count, assuming you are you using your 4 lb mono and a 1/16? Appreciate the old school, I'm a few years off from dropping the kind of cash required for a Live Scope setup.
Tres, sorry. I had this in the video but the race boat gassed it right in the middle of my sentence and I didn’t want to use the audio on it because of that. I was pitching a 1/16 oz jig with 12 lb BoneHead braid, which has a 4 lb diameter. Around 1 ft per count. So I was achieving about 10 ft.
Hey Matt I’m going to Watts Barr with my uncle Oct 5-7. I have fished the lake a lot back in the late 90’s-2000. My uncle has terminal cancer. We had a trip planned to florida in Jan. I don’t think he will make it. So I’m taking him to watts Barr. Any pointers on locating fish there in earlyOct? He loves to spider rig. But I know you fish single pole. If you have any pointers feel free to private message me. Just trying to make his last fishing trip a good one. Thanks James Compton Ky
Matt, cool videos! So if I’m new to crappie fishing and I don’t already know where brush piles are, do you just have to spend some of your fishing time scoping for them? What if you don’t have any electronics?
That is correct. If you don't have electronics, you can do what they did in the old days and troll around with a treble hook until you get hung in one. You can also fish visible structure such as lay downs or docks.
Don't like Livescope. Like watching TV. Not watching your line. Kids are not thinking now with all the technology. Everybody's staring down at their graph, not paying attention. There's no challenge trying to figure it out on your own which is part of the fun..
For all of us that do not use a live scope for what ever reason do appreciate this video.
Thanks Dan! Glad to do it. Hope it helps
I don't use live scope for cost and ethical reasons.
Finally a video that really explains how to find a mark and fish brush piles thank you good sir
I like your style
Good Video!!!... I really love the videos on Crappie Fishing without Live Scope. Thanks for sharing this video with us.

I'm just guessing that he spun the boat around in a u-turn

1/16 is mostly what I use
Does a 1/16 fall a foot per 1 second? Great video msn
@@SoutheastCrappieFishing 1/32 is the one that falls , 1ft. per second. 1/16 falls faster per second, for deeper water.
