Great video, thanks! I got my first little Brachychiton rupestris yesterday from a local nursary here in Cairns, best $15 I ever spent. It is about the size of your larger one at the start of this video. My next move will be to repot so I'm doing research on best potting media, thanks for mentioning this in your video! Love that you had the confidence to trim the root system!
Brachychiton rupestris is very tolerant of being grown in a pot, although it will grow slower as compared to being grown in the ground. In my experience, they aren't too picky on soil, as long as it drains well.
Thanks for the update…!!! I live in Melbourne and got couple of these. One shop bought and one grown from a seed. Both are in pots and growth rate is sooooo slow.
Brachychiton can tolerate pot culture quite well, I suspect that it may be because your climate is cooler than the climate I live in and they are not getting a long enough growing season. Mine usually has 2 flushes of growth, one at around October - November and one at around January, they are quite drought and heat tolerant plants.
Thank you for this video. I have this plant and I didn't know its name. My plant is 160 cm. On my channel, I recorded her appearance and name request. I cordially greet you and your plants
They’re native to Australia and they grow these fat bottle trunks which is why they’re called the Queensland bottle tree. Where you’re located is probably too cold to have them.

I buy this tree in Thailand last year. Now, the height looks like yours and has many leaves. How about it in 2022?
Mine are still growing nicely.
I'm from Indonesia, I want to buy seeds of this plant, how do I order and how much does this plant cost?
I like the hand leaves, don’t think I ever seen that in my area
