Might want to try out an arroworthy rembrandt angle sash brush if you think picassos are too soft. They tend to get stiffer overtime though, kind of the opposite issue of the picasso.
My favourite for cutting in is the Monarch Advance Sash Cutter 3" , really hard to get hold of over in the UK now though so i'm trying to get some more from Australia , personally i find them better than all types of Wooster , Purdy , Picasso's , Corona , Oldfields ,Arroworthy etc, i've pretty much tried everything and they come out on top for me . Everyone seems to find a brush they prefer though.
There's so many brushes out there to try , usually you find one that works for yourself then don't bother look to see if there is anything else is better. That's another on my hit list im going to have to try. Thanks for watching 👍
On the site I'm on at the moment where using dulux but I do prefer using crown which most of my do use, it sprays so much better than dulux with a finner finish on the walls.
I bought a set of three Sir , I cut in a feature wall on a landing, the edges where uneven I cut it in with the inch and a half and it looked great, great brushes, great video by the way 👍
Pro-form Blaze and semi oval contractor brushes are good too. I'm in U. S. and that's all I use along with the Picasso. I love hearing the Brits talk. Such a cool accent.
Never felt the love for the Picasso. My fav by far is the oldfields. Can’t use anything but long handled, oval shape , angled. Superb in my opinion. Picking up a standard length handle brush feels weird now lol.
I tell you what that extra length on the handle comes in handy where you've got no choice but to stretch when your cutting. I'm gonna try the old fields I've them online from where I buy my brushes from and always wondered how they would compare to a picasso . Is there a certain type ooldfield I should get ?
Just bought myself 2 ovel Oldfield's. Was using the Picasso's but only lasted a few months and the shape just went! Do the Oldields have a good lasting time mate? Hope you reply lol. Cheers
@@TheTillsterandHerWeirdBestie not bad. I did notice the 3inch angled wore down however I used it a lot so,I don’t think I can complain. I am sure you will love them
Can't beat a pic1 straight out of the package for sharpness. The proform blaze and the proform contractor in the rattail handle are monstors for trim work though.
I hear everyone raving about old fields from my paintbrush, might be worth giving them a go too, but if your looking for a good brush for woodwork try the proform blaze, they're spot on 👌
They have a firmer one called a chisel, the hardline is a little softer and definitely the best on the market but if you want it a little firmer get the Picasso chisel
Great vid and lovely cutting in! Got myself one of these a year or two back. Absolutely fantastic brush for trim work, especially with gloss. Something about it really leaves a nice level finish. Where abouts do you usually work, Col? If you're in the S/SE of London I'd love to join you for a day or two.
Hi nice educational video have you seen this new innovated paint brush by Richard called the gooseneck flexible paint brush extension. Reach the unreachable. Cheers.
Yeah its a great brush , in my personal opinion i believe it out performs the purdy in every department even in the cost im pretty sure the picasso is cheaper to buy.
@@darreneves4060 you can get them from decoratingdirect.co.uk , I've never really had a problem spraying waterbase gloss i do thin it down a bit but not to much
How do you like the Corona? I came across them online when I was looking for a new brush but ended up just using my old Purdy. I need a new brush now and keep wanting to try Corona. I found out a local paint store 2 minutes from me carries them I'm just trying to figure out which one to get. I would be using it for interior latex painting only. Looking for a 2.5 angled sash and I want it to be firm enough to cut nice straight lines but not too firm that it will lead brush marks when painting trim.

Thanks Riley 👍
pure bristle wall brush still the best. but have got the proform mammoth 4 inch wall brush from decorating direct got a good thick stock it
Arroworthy classic for me amazing brush 👌
The classic is poverty level spec. Go up one and get the Rembrandts
Only thing, the wear out really fast. Great while they last though.
Pro-form Blaze and semi oval contractor brushes are good too. I'm in U. S. and that's all I use along with the Picasso. I love hearing the Brits talk. Such a cool accent.

It's a proper lame accent, bruv!! You know it, and I know it

Will do mate , I think I'm gonna try out the old fields as well apparently there the number 1 brush in Australia
@Daf have a try of fossa vipers too off decorating direct they're exactly the same and dirt cheap
I like firm brush for exterior or textured walls. My fav is carona.
Never tried that brush , got to buy one and see how it handles
@@camdecorations9779 Corona excaliber Chinex 2 1/2" is my fave for interior cutting
I always look forward to your videos cam (and great music). One question do you finish woodwork or is it undercoated, before you finish the walls?
No It's just in undercoat I have to put the gloss on the old fashioned way by brush and roller.
@@camdecorations9779 Cheers fella
Another good video Colin. What’s your products on this site Colin ?
Got myself one of these
Great for ceiling lines , glide nicely not so clever for filling in , a bit springy for that
They have a firmer one called a chisel, the hardline is a little softer and definitely the best on the market but if you want it a little firmer get the Picasso chisel
Thanks for the info jack 👍
What’s the second song?
Hi Colin Just out of interest what make of brush do you use for gloss work ?
Pro Dec ice fusion brushes,
Just found the minotaur and loving it. Picasso still your favorite?
Yes , loving that brush for cutting in 👍

They're nice brushes 👌
Would this be a good brush for painting door jambs and millwork? Thx
I'm not to sure i was looking for a brush to cut in ceiling lines , so I don't know if it would work on door jambs .
Hi nice educational video have you seen this new innovated paint brush by Richard called the gooseneck flexible paint brush extension. Reach the unreachable. Cheers.
No I haven't, I'll have to look out for that
hay man i love your style of cutting in on the ceiling nice
😂😂 yeah for some reason I prefer to cut in backwards
