I'm not from Africa..But ik some of your Delicious Dishes..And MoiMoi is 1...Joloff Rice, Fufu, Egusi, Fish Stew, Peanut Butter Stew etc 😋 Yummy I love spice and I don't mind eating with my hands Egusi is spicy so I eat with a utensil..but here in America my family is from the south. We eat greens with our hands smashed with cornbread and I add hotsauce ❤
In Cameroon, we make this dish with melon seeds, we call it " mets de pistache" but with beans, we add palm oil without eggs, we call it koki. Your recipe is interesting, i'll try it.
@@sameerahwaya4077 just replace beans by melon seeds or egusi then put it in banana's leaves for more flavour or ramequins. We eat it with plantain, yam etc.
@naalga29 There is a similar recipe in Nigeria, where you mix the bean with roasted melon and other moinmoin ingredients. Blend together and steam like this. It is called "Alapa" or "Jogi" in yoruba land.
I don't know what makes me smile more - the delicious moi moi or the parade of all your beautiful cookware and seeing someone else shares my passion for cookware and utensils. I see Staub pan, vitamix, even a Korean spoon. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@jeanleong5161 I'm not sure if you want to see that. I'm obsessed with cooking and cookware. I have everything from old faithful vitamix to niche items like the sourdough home - I call it my hotel for my sourdough starter. 😀
You are a good chef. This is the real moimoi recipe, simple and straightforward that Nigerians can identify with. Not all these over proteinised moimoi that our Nigerian online chefs make...smoked fish, eggs, corn beef, crayfish and what's have you. Who cooks like that. They use so many proteins in their recipes, you wonder where they got it from. That's not how the regular and average Nigerian cooks or eats. They crowd their pots of soup tight with protein like whaaat?!? 😂 Omg! Abeg your head dey there...😃. Keep repping us correctly.
Lol i understand what you’re saying, but what if they mix it up, like some would have egg some corned beef, some fish, just like that? Would that be better?
Even cooked mackrel chunks inside next to the boiled egg. This can cook in cupcake pans, an aluminum pan or cake mold, in glassware steamed or baked and most delicious of all when made inside traditional banana leaves... 🍃🍃🍃 This is a little Nigerian snack, breakfast or appetizer. 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬💋💋💋
I like that you didn't do the mixing in a bowl or mixer. I always wondered why the ingredients cannot be blended with the beans at once. This is Kiki proof it can be done! Thanks!
Depends on what you eat it with, to make it a light or heavy meal. We (Nigerians) don't traditionally have specific foods for different times of the day. But it can be breakfast or dinner if eaten with corn pap or garri. Or eaten with rice as a heavier midday meal. However, that's a personal choice. I'd suggest Googling to see the different combinations and ways that moi moi is eaten. I make a batch, refrigerate and heat up to eat. I find it convenient to take to work too.
Thanks for sharing. I will definitely try this. Whenever I attend a Nigerian gathering, I always ask if there's any moi moi. I will add fish to mind. I'm looking forward to it
I loveeeee this episode! Was just smiling throughout. The Winlos were very funny and insightful and it was so good to see Teemikeeee. Lovely episode fam❤🥳
Thanks for a straightforward, hassle free recipe. Like who has time these days for the time consuming traditional method. And the moi moi still looks good, just goes to show we waste too much time on food prep!
What's the name of the glass bowls you used? I would like to order them. Also, remember the indomie recipe you shared last year, can you share the name of the bottled pepper sauce you used?
Greetings to u from another end of the world. Seriously I don't know their their scientific names but you can use any variety available over there. We have many types like brown or red beans, black eyed beans, white beans which can be big or small seeds and many more. These names may differ in your country. U can also search for 'making moi moi' the Nigerian way, you'll get a lot of videos on the preparation especially the washing to remove the peels, cheers.
