What a tastefully modified 964 and you did a great job! At least, you preserve the original spirit of the 964 and doesn't ruin it like Singer and some other companies do. It is a fantastic 911 generation, it doesn't need to be backdated to obtain a false 60's 911.
Lovely, that’s some serious ££££££’s commitment by the owner right there💪🏿, would love similar in future. Lovely setup though sounds slightly different probably to do with the GT3 exhaust system.
Thank you for a great Video, this seems a really well rounded upgrade package for a C2, what changes would you make to the package if you were doing a C4 ?
Thank you for the comment and kind words! The package is similar for the C4, you can even do the Wavetrac upgrade too to improve the rear-end traction and grip.

I love this setup. Is it necessary to drop the engine to install just the ITB’s? Also, would the tuning differ on a c4 that has a lightweight flywheel?
Thanks for the comment! As we were installing the diff too and some other work, it was a better process. Lightweight flywheel will allow the revs to increase and decrease faster when the clutch is disengaged

Fabspeed with heat exchangers in England- good luck with that- I have that same setup- the heat is dismal- doesn't really warm up even the windshiled in rain- very- very poor design. I'm about to pull the entire (expensive) system and replace it with Instant-G' s reworked 993 system with all new pipes so I can finally have heat in my car in the winter again. Trust me- those heat exchangers on the Fabspeed are far too small to produce any reasonable heat to the cabin. The ATP ITB's are bad ass though- and wow- you all much have had that car for a spell- Ash's hair went from trimmed and tight to curls galore from 8:05- 15:55- looked like we time jumped several months!
Thank for watching and the feedback! Ash did go from fresh trim to perm in a matter of minutes, quite impressive! This project was over a few months :) With regards to the heaters, thanks for sharing your experience but we haven't experienced any issues with the heater when they were fitted through the winter (this project was from December - March)
@@gavinc74 Stock Porsche heaters are fantastic... no argument there- I want mine back! The FabSpeed design is what I'm talking about- for me- they don't even defrost the window on a rainy day. I live in Colorado- so I need heat- and the original air-cooled system would start getting noticeably warm in just two blocks of driving- but I "upgraded" for better performance- and now I'm taking them off (and selling them) and replacing them with modified 993 exchangers into a new better flowing header system by Instant-G- the guy that build Jack Olsen's Black Beauty motor. I have just had a terrible experience with the FabSpeed heater setup.

Thanks for the comment and kind words! We certainly could install an RS flywheel or a billet single piece flywheel for the best engine response and rev drop/increase without clutch engagement. Only changes for the engine management would possibly be the idle pull-away which with a flywheel with less mass would require finer tuning.
@@RegalAutosport Thanks! I found the 964 in stock form struggles with a RS flywheel, but its when the throttle drop is sudden, say you are motoring along at 3500rpm and then push in the clutch and do not touch the gas - the DME at times will not do enough to establish idle as the engine is dropping down, and so the rpm dips below where the engine can sustain an idle and it dies. A medium weight flywheel solves the problem. I recently built a 964 engine with 993 SS cams and slightly larger intake valves, and it was even more of a struggle to get the DME to "catch" the idle with a RS flywheel, so we swapped out to a MWF and it's much better.
Thank you! When the customer took it out for a drive he was particularly impressed by the low-mid end response/power, which is illustrated in the graph with the big torque gain in that range. The air filters were also supplied with the vehicle, they are easy to fit should the customer wish to use them.
Great question! There are many reasons to retain the existing twin distributor setup, the main ones being authenticity, arguably adding more points of failure (more parts) and additional cost that comes with completely changing the ignition system. The standard distributor also has a built-in hall sensor which is effectively the cam sync, so removing it would mean re-producing a sync sensor. Completely changing the ignition system is a lot of time and cost for marginal gains, decisions like these are made with the customer according to his goals/requirements of the build and on this occasion, an ignition system change wasn't required.
I got the impression from the video it works as a piggy back ecu only changing fueling, timing etc as required and the factory ecu does all its usual things.
