    I love this set. One of my absolute favorite DD iems for the money. Unrelated, but your auto focus is great. What camera/lens are you using? I need an upgrade and am impressed at how good yours is.

      @@URLIRL Elixers are definitely my number one. They have taken the place of my Katos as daily drivers. As far as the planars go I really like the P1 Max Pandas atm. It is less aggressive in the upper mids and treble areas which suits my treble sensitivity better. The crazy thing about the S12is, while the FR shows it to be the most aggressive in the upper mids @nd treble, it is so well controlled it doesn’t fatigue my brain nearly as quick as the Timeless. YMMV

      I own both and they are very different but equally great. They are my two favorites by far. I own the Katos, Timeless, S12s, modded Olinas, Meles, and the Elixers has the most inviting sound signature that makes me want to listen to one song, whether I have the time or not.

      @@fiddlix would you say the katos are sharper (as in has clearer/snappier transients, also by extent brighter) than the elixirs? what about the dynamics? i have the katos right now and they're almost perfect for me except for them being a bit fatiguing for me, was looking at the elixirs and have heard people saying they're more laidback but a bit muted and less exciting than the katos, whats your opinion? I wouldn't want much changed from my katos especially the excitement.

    • @fiddlix
      @fiddlix 2 роки тому +1

      @@haziee3108 That is the exact reason my Katos are #2 and the Elixers are my #1. The Katos, as great as they are, can be fatiguing over long sessions. To me everything seems to be more balanced and realistic. Do use a decent dac. A simple dongle will be fine. Sometimes I feel like our ears are being bombarded with what they like in he Far East, which is extreme V Or U shaped tunings. I am old school and really like IEMs that have an FR similar to the Elixer.

    I prefer a “Dynamic Driver”, style IEM when listening to my music. I’m a musician of 40yrs & xtra high trebles that have wavy, flabby semblance, tinny sounding, or that “Nails on a Chalkboard”, I’ve lost interest in that IEM. I like a good solid mid, good clear but I admit I do tune usually to Negative balances on mid’s as I feel they can push your highs & lows to hard making for a poor listening experience. Yes my EQ does resemble a “V”, or more appropriate to say a “W”, w/the middle peak much lower. Hope that gives anyone out there a sense of what I look for. I’m also going to be listening to my music on a brand new IPad Air, 5th Generation 2022, so I’m dealing w/a USB-C charge port/but use a Hyper++Drive 6 in 1 Hub (to use my 3.5mm plug), w/HDMI 4K 60Hz to help assist in my “new”, set up. I HATE Bluetooth buds. I bought a set of Sony WFXB-700 Extra Bass when they were well over $250 & they didn’t make the cut! I gave em’ to my son to play with. Now, I’ve played electric guitar for years, when younger in Hard/Metal Bands. As I grew older I played a square-neck Resophonic guitar or “Dobro”, in a few Bluegrass bands. Needless to say I like the instrumentation & gravitate to music that focus on the “Musician”, like Bluegrass/Acoustic style and Hard Rock & Heavy Metal. I’m currently into Ghost, 5FDP & going to see Warrant, Def Leopard & Motely Crue in July. I’ve seen Ozzy (in his prime), Tesla, Alice In Chains, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd & Nickelback. I love a Canadian band known as “Big Wreck”, too. I’ve been on stage w/Ricky Skaggs just to provide a sense of my diverse pursuits & my level of knowledge as a working musician. No, I don’t play on the road anymore, I wanted to stay married & crowding 40 & my wife tells me we are expecting our 3rd son it was time to walk away. However my passion for music has never waned since the age of 9 & earlier. I’ve even played in Jazz Bands, had recommendations from the U.S. Naval Band, playing Trombone. I have a superb EAR & this “Bat”, doesn’t miss too much on my musical radar. 😆 When I look at sheet music I just see “letters”, as if I’m reading a novel, but I learned to play the guitar, mandolin, bass, Dobro, “some”, banjo ALL by ear. It took me 2wks to learn to play the trombone & 1 1/2wks to play the Tuba. I can read music & feel it in my bones all at the same time. I want to hear Tommy Lee’s 9-count triplet during the “Wild Side”, hit in my IEM’s with MAJOR authority. I don’t want the sub bass & mid bass humming it’s so hot that it over powers the mid’s & high’s. I want to hear Tony Rice (a once personal friend, sadly passed now), play his low leads & the beautiful high licks & runs on his 1935 D-28 Martin Acoustic guitar. Are you picking up, what I’m putting down? I know I have a very WIDE gap in my favorite styles of music, but I enjoy 80’s Pop, 90’s Alternative, Classic “Honky Tonk”, Country Music along with my acoustic & metal groups & bands I listen to mostly right now. I’m using a set of Campfire Audio “Honeydew”, & I love the BASS. Sometimes I need to hook it up to my FiiO amp to get that FULL bass effect for drums & bass riffs but overall they perform for me. I love my BLON-BL 03’s w/stainless 2-pin body but upgraded chords as factory chord wasn’t sufficient. I also bought Linsoul TIN T2, good but not great, Linsould HiFiI T4’s again, good but not great. I really loved my RHA i20’s but the outer “bendy”, part behind the ears just shredded after a few months of use. I initially loved 1More Triple Driver IEM’s but they lasted about 1yr & they lost their edge & just couldn’t deliver any longer. I had Mackie 220 Studio monitors & they suck! I tried FiiO FV 7’s, & wasn’t impressed either. Mind you I’m someone that also really enjoys Sony’s Studio Monitors both in the recording studio & just listening at home but feel they’ve always lacked that punch I like for my own personal tastes. I DO NOT like BEATS by Dre as the bass is just overwhelming from beginning to end. When I hear Korn’s “Here to Stay”, drummer on the break/turn around bunch his bass drum I want my IEM’s to hit w/bad azz authority but back off when the drummer isn’t showcasing his abilities. I know, I know, I’m picky & probably asking for the impossible but I’d love to find that 1 IEM, weather it’s a “Planner”, “Molded Ear”, or just “Stuck in Your Ears”, and hold a good seal I’m ok w/it. Can anyone out their help this aging musician that loves hard hitting bass, but also get’s lost in melodic flatpicking Bluegrass or Tyler Childers on a lonesome ballad?? I’d be eternally grateful if someone would or could help me. I used to be willing to go north of $1,000k but I feel there are too many good IEM’s that perform or “out-perform”, those $1k-$2k brands that will only set you back maybe under $500.00 bucks! Mostly I’ve found that w/my most recent purchases I’ve been VERY HAPPY w/brands under $150. From what I’ve heard, Campfire Audio “VEGA’s”, could be a possibility? Also Thieaudio Excalibur? Please someone HELP ME. Seriously, I was diagnosed w/a degenerative spinal disease & recently suffered a heart attack (my 2nd), & I’m not able to do things as before, so I have lots of time to lay around listening to music! Thank YOU ALL!!!

Have a great Friday & an even better weekend; and again…Thank YOU!! Post Script: Could you pass along the brand & model of those “Planners”, I’ve heard you reference several times? I’d really like to pick up a set & give them a try. Thanks!
