    Anyone know how this canon 2 compares to the new dunu x gizaudio da vinci?

      @@PassionforSoundThat's ok! Honestly, I think your review did wonders on painting a picture of how one might perceive these IEMs! I was looking at getting a pair to upgrade from the moondrop Katos, and the canon 2 may be it. They are on my radar along with the Softears Studio 4 and the Da Vinci. Thank you for the reply!

    this was a great four part series, Lachlan. You regular format is awesome as well. i'm good with whatever format you take on and mixing it up like this is nice. I have the TOP as well and love it, hard to beat it for under $1k

    Hello sir, do you know if there’s a manual for how to use the dip switches on canon 2? I just got mine but i honestly dont know how it works. I was told 1 down 2 up is ideal for gaming, but when i got it out of the box it was 1 up 2 down and when i swapped around, I couldn’t really notice any difference in sounds. Sorry I just got into iems and what not so I can’t tell much. But coming from headphones they’re amazing and so comfortable for long sessions

      I can understand the confusion. Based on my listening and measurements, there are really only 3 tunings to choose from:
      1) no switches on = least bass
      2) either switch on = medium bass
      3) both switches on = maximum bass
      In other words, don't worry which switch is up - they both do the same.

    This is the review I was looking for. I ordered the Xenns Top after deciding my Simgot EM6L were too clinical and lacked bass. I was worried they weren't worth the extra money over the Canon ii.
    Mainly going to be using them for FPS gaming and light music/shows but I am worried that they may be fatiguing and bite as you mentioned in your review of them.
    Between the xenns Top and Canon ii which do you think is the all around better choice for everyday listening, shows, games, EDM, Phonk, Rock, Alt Rock, and light classical?

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  10 місяців тому +1

      It's a very tough call because of the tuneability of the Canon II, but I do think I'd reach for the Top more often if that's helpful.

    I'm trying to remember what your previous reviews were like but I think this is a promising format. I like knowing what iems will be featured throughout the week. And the reviews themselves should be brief enough for those researching a specific model and might be watching a lot of videos.
    It's always helpful to have an iem put into context regarding its tuning and price. Knowing options, both cheaper and more expensive is also very helpful in determining your own budget sometimes.
    Question on the switches. If you have different settings in each shell, can you potentially damage the amplifier or cause harm in some way?
    The reason why I ask is I wanted to compare two separate iems quicker by alternating which one was in my ear (and maybe listening in mono?)

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback!
      No issues using the different impedances on each ear. Amps can handle the different impedances on each channel because this happens all the time when an IEM or headphone has variable impedances at different frequencies (this is very common).
      As for trying IEMs in mono, I wouldn't recommend making any decisions this way because our brains perceive the sound very differently when we have just one IEM in and you can easily do damage with the loudness of a single IEM without realising. Obviously feel free to give it a try, just be careful. 🙂

    Great review! I agree on the sphere part, have really been enjoying the canon 2s, came from the aful performer 5 which has been praised to punch way above its price point but the canon 2s blow em out of the water from what i can hear

      @@PassionforSound Thanks Lachlan for your answer, Im really satisfied with the TOPs, I would like maby a little bit less midbass (but not midbass-free like by Variations😀) and more details, but Im not shure if it is even possible😀 because there is never details enough by any IEMs.. anyway, I am really curious to your review of Monarch 3, great work, I really like your reviews👍👍👍.

      Considering you love top signature & wanna stick to it the upgrade would definitely be fatfreq maestro se. Everything else is alittle bit better in some tiny regard. But fatfreq will truly be an upgrade better stop wasting money in buying 5 iems & just get one endgame one.
      Monarch won't have that bass though.

    Which one would be better for rock genre? Canon II or Top?

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  10 місяців тому +1

      It depends on what you value when listening to rock. For more attack, the Top. For a smoother sound that might be easier to enjoy at higher volumes (but please be safe), the Canon II. The Tops are still better overall though from a technical perspective.
