Thank you, this video helped me a lot! I could't find full HD comparison anywhere else on YT.
👍👍
I love your subtle jokes lmao they keep me laughing throughout the video
🤝🤝🤝
Thank you for this video, not many are talking about that 7k oversampling...u are awesome & great man
🤙🤙
Thanks for this! I would love to hear Phuc Mai Bich's review on the A7IV.
👀
Thank you for your realism! Great videos as always
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the content Vu, also your sardonic sense of humour cracks me up. Have a good one.

Hi, I thank you to share your interesting video. I'd like to as a question but beforse I'd like to know if you have you ever used the Lumix GH5 MarkII. Thanks for your reply.
No. And never will
I’ve actually been looking for a video that showed off the 1080p of the A7iv. For some it is still a very usable resolution and possibly even needed for certain types of work. Thanks!
👍👍
Not finding much but from what I can see the 1080 out of the IV looks better than the iii imo. With a little sharpening and editing I think 1080 is very usable. Especially compared to my canon 80d
@@jjgonza100 That’s the kind of information I am looking for, since I shoot mainly 1080p. Is the fullHD from the IV slightly better than III?
@@herewefly6496 I have not seen it for myself but Gordon Laing talks touches on it in his reviews. I just got the IV and will test it out. Just waiting on some lenses to arrive.
Ive been creating content for social media for about seven years (graphic designer). Its been on my 2014 D750 in HD.
I really need to get with the times 😆😆😆😆
Thank you for this video. It is very helpful!
🤙🤙
It's great to see you and your 'trash videos' back in action!! Great content you've provided on your paying events, but your funny stuff was missed!! Btw, I'm wondering if you had considered buying an A1, or at least rented one to try against the A7SIII; in some ways I feel it is better for video than the A7SIII, plus the fact that you can get outstanding images from it... hope you compare the two in video sometime this year!
I feel like for the a1 for it's price doesn't give me much more than the a7siii for what I do. Plus that not flip screen is a dagger
Hey! Great video! Do you knot if when in 120 fps the face focus still working? In A7III doesn't work, but in a7siii work fine! What about a7iv?
It does
can you tell if the A7IV’s 1080p is at least better than the A7III/A7C’s (and the 6xxx APS-C cameras’) notoriously bad 1080p? thx
Honestly seems similar
That tilta A7siii cage fit A74 like a glove? no modification?
does 1080 p cropped 120fps has active steady Ibis ?
Do u have any videos for the settings ur using on the a7s3?
Not yet
I like that half cage, you recommend it or should I wait for the IRig?
Wait for a7IV specific
i got the A7Siii and am so happy, the low light capabilities i an getting from it, i will not get frm the other newer ones like the a7s4.
🤙
Your video helped me to make a decision to buy the A7s3 after watching 10s of videos on A7Iv and Lumix S5ii. I got the A7s3 for 2850$ new which tipped me over to buy it. My only problem is the noise between the two native ISOs. I have to keep avoiding a large range of iso to avoid noise on A7s3. And 12500 Iso the image is soft. I wish the A7s3 had the same noise performance as A7iv. Thanks
👍
Hey man, you can do 1080 120 (100 in my PAL setting) 10bit 4:2:2 if you go into S&Q at least in my A7iv.
You loose sound but you get something pretty decent
Thanks for the info
@@nVuFilms Does this really work? A comment in Brandon Hibbs' video also asked this but he checked it's only 8 bit. Now I am confused.
@@giovcarrillo4222 Yes, I can confirm this is possible in A7IV. What might be confusing is that the chroma sub sampling setting is grayed out and it is the 4:2:2 option that shows there. However, this simply means this setting can’t be changed, not that it is unavailable. The LCD screen info confirms that the 120fps HD has 4:2:2 chroma sub sampling and 10 bit precision.
Nice and to the point. I have been shooting canon 80d/60p for real estate. Just got my a7iv and ordered the converter for my 11-20 to try 4K60. (Hope it works?) But will also consider a 16mm for 1080/60p. I guess I will make it work and maybe down the road will add an a7siii to my bag. Good vid thanks.
🤙🤙
is there a slight crop in the S3 when shooting 4k120p compared to 4k60p???
Yes
I am interested see the comparison between A74 1080p APSC Mode vs A7S3 1080 footage. May have surprising results.
Hi Vu. Could you tell if there's a difference in colors between A7IV and A7SIII? I've watched many YT videos and it looks like A7SIII has better colors.
I think so too
I rewatch this video again to compare skin tones. And if you pause the video at every side by side. You will see A7IV background has a greenish tint VS A7S3 has more magenta. Looking at his face from brighter side 74 has a very slight yellow and S3 it's warmer. I don't know what's more skin accurate, but if we are pixel peeping Im leaning towards A7SIII for slightly better colors which I'm sure could all be tweaked in post. But I suck at color grading so I'd prefer more accurate and pleasing colors vs having to do more tweaks in post.
Hey man. Apparently if you put the a7iv in crop mode on the 1080p it turns much sharper. Can you try it and see ? Apparently 1080 is almost equivalent to 4K when it’s in crop. Another you tuber tested this out. According to his video it was really amazing.
Lol.
Thanks for the video.
Any input when compare the A7iii 4k 24p (oversampled from 6k) and A7iv 4k 24p ( oversampled from 7k)?
Is there a noticeable different between the two?
Colors better on a7iv
@@nVuFilms color better on A7iv.
How noticeable on the sharpness between the two?
@@marcuschay8962 not really
@@nVuFilms thanks.
Is the A7iv has higher bitrate in S&Q (1080 120p) compare to A7iii? If yes is it sharper?
@@marcuschay8962 I dunno
Thanks for the video💪🏽 I still shoot mostly in 1080p but I may be one of the last dinosaur’s 🙈😂
🤙
Thank for this late yet hilariously informative video comparison

Happy New Year from us Eurotrash. 🍾🍾🍾🍾

let me know your thoughts on the sharpness of these cameras. I used SLOG3 for both and detail is default to -7.
Sharpness difference is really not noticeable unless you blow the shots side-by-side on a 70" television, and even then, ya gotta be looking for it. I'd still take the 7sIII as a dedicated video camera for the rolling shutter and 12,800 ISO s-log usage for night time. The 7IV would be better if you need to do photography work and do talking head shots for video.
@@classicboy97 absolutely
Why would the IV be better for talking head shots? @@classicboy97
Old comment, but, the higher megapixel count @honestnerd
which lens would you recommend for vlogging for Sony a7iv
14mm gm 20mm g Tamron 1728

Yesss…lucky me I got mine on 24th…with the Tamron 28-75 g2….I really wanted T Master the 35- 150 🤣🤣 but nobody knows when it’s going to be available meehhh 😂🤷🏻♂️

good news is you can get 10 bit 120fps on A7iv in S&Q mode, if you really want it. just no sound.
4:10 agree 100%!
💯
If you crop and use clear zoom you can have a very clean 1080 on the a7IV
just to confirm. a7iV doesnt have 30min limit right?
Unlimited
I like your humour 😎!
🤙
Dude your content is never trash. Now my stuff is pure trash lol

Trash content quota met! I actually really appreciate this look at both because i haven’t had the opportunity to do it myself yet. Thank you!

I came here specifically to check the 1080p 24fps comparison but you not only didn't do it but were also weirdly snobbish about not doing it. 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah, a lot of d-bags have made videos about this camera but your opinion still matters and I still enjoyed the video.
💯
Every time I buy an expensive gear I feel like a film-"ache"-r. 😁
😂
Dang. Why'd I get two A1's when I could have gotten five IV's.....agh
Lol
LMAO thanks for keepin it real dude
Lol
I have no crop with XAVC S, only with XAVC HS (60 fps / 4:2:2 / 10 Bit)
No 4k vs 4k comparison?
Common knowledge a7IV is a little sharper 4k
lol....Sweet Hommie....The best!!

😂😂 nice video!

Pixel peep out with my small asian eyes!! 😂😂

Film archers.
Wait A7Siii doesn't have 1080p in 10bit? I literally made this comment in some European UA-camrs channel who gets the Sony cameras first and makes videos before anyone in great quality and I asked Does A7SIII shoot 1080p 10bit? He said yes but the A7IV does not. But now your telling me A7Siii does not shoot 1080p 10bit, now I'm lost.
Doesn't have 1080p 120fps 10 bit
Because sharpness is the most important...for noob subscribers :)
Thanks for your viewership
A7IV 1080 is better in apsc mode.
You aight bro?
Are you ?
A7IV should have kept 24MP so that its 4k60p would have no more than 1.1-1.2x crop.
🤷♂️
Looks like green tone is saturated more α7IV than αIII
🤷♂️
Vu, with all of the snarkiness aside, since you once again advocate for filming everything in slow motion, can you explain it to me why this is the case? Why is filming in regular speed a thing of the past? No, you cannot say that you can always speed up 60fps and bring it to normal speed giving yourself more options. Effects of that are actually visible in one of your wedding video samples: the motion is jittery in some of the regular speed shots (people dancing), I assume that’s because it’s a sped up 60fps or even a 120fps shot so the shutter speed and resulting motion blur is wrong. If you do shoot 60fps with a 360 degree angle shutter (1/60th sec) then it looks good when sped up to 24fps BUT looks smeary when played back as a slow motion. So is it really about the aesthetic of slow motion? Don’t you think that filming everything is slow motion is simply a sign of giving up on finding good shots, compositions and movement that looks attractive in regular motion? That it is basically a cheap, lazy and attempt to make things work? Yes, there is room for slow motion shots, they have its use. But isn’t filming everything in slow motion basically a kitsch?
I don't film in slow motion. I film in 60fps. Most of it is actually rendered to standard speed on a 24fps timeline.
The 60,fps is there if I want to incorporate slowmotion in the film by slowing the footage down 40-50%. Also it makes it possible to do "slider or gimbal" moves without needing to set up a slider or gimbal by moving quickly and slowing it down in post to create a "slider like" shot. It saves a lot of time when filming a wedding.
I mentioned this in my video. In controlled environments it's a different situation. But when you have limited time to get shots you do what you can.
When it comes to filming dance shots in a dark reception, sometimes you want to capture emotion. Such as mother of the bride smiling, if it wasn't captured in 60p with slow mo applied you miss that moment. If it happens to quickly.
Of course if I was filming a planned short film, sure I'll use frame rates according to each scene. But in run and gun filming, you want to use every option available to you for versatility in post production
The effects of the jitteriness may actually been more of the fact that I used an even faster shutter speed than I "should have".
To be honest I really don't care about "jittery" 1 second clip in a fast paced edit. If you care then that is you. My clients don't care either.
@@nVuFilms But these shots look bad when played in normal speed. You don’t see it? Motion is choppy due to inappropriate motion blur. Yes, so plugins might be able to help with that, I just don’t see it as a viable way of giving yourself more options. Also, the slow motion is omni present in your videos ( and in 90% of all wedding videos, let’s call it a “style”). Taking the bride’s mother shot you mentioned as an example - the intention is to make this moment special and accentuate it, yet doesn’t immersing it in a sea of other shots which are also in slow motion take such chance away?
@@deepseadiver8191 bro honestly film the way you want to film. And I'll film the way I want to film. Maybe one day when I snap out of my amateurness and film like you
