    Flush, level and sguare.
    I worked on cabins outside of Yosemite California when I was a student on weekends and breaks for my dad.
    Finish carpentry was always filled with minute details. You show the think-ahead detailing that really pays off when the project is completed.
    I miss those days.
    Nice job Susanne.

At this point I ve never done what you did here but seeing I'm confident I could do it. So big thumbs for teaching me something new. Really impressed on your vision for the cabin/office i probally would have never took as far but then again it wouldn't have look nearly as good as this is coming along so Great Taste and Foresight!!!!!!!

    If you like it that is all that matters. As far as a tip we used an 80 tooth blade on the saw when cutting trim and it cut very smooth. I’ve seen windows trimmed out just like that more then once. Most of those houses had square cut nails so they were old.

    • @This1LifeWeLive

    You could use some roller stands for the table saw Suzanne!
    Top & bottom (sill) then sides, yep :) I extend the sill piece out 1/4" farther than the vertical wall trim will be. The verticals sit on the sill with the apron under the sill extending the same distance as the vertical pieces.

    • @This1LifeWeLive
      @This1LifeWeLive  2 роки тому

      Yes, could use roller stands for sure, lol! Honestly I had wanted the bottom sill to extend past the vertical trim pieces, but I was tired when I was measuring and cutting, and before I knew it, I had measured the wrong area :P Not having extra I was stuck with it like that.

    Trim is Bondo for wood workers. To make the Cabin/Office appear much larger, Paint the Ceiling White. Several coats!
    I hope you have placed Patio Stones under the Cabin Stringers. That is so important. Get the FEL Forks under one side, lift as required and then place slabs approx 4 per length under those stringers. Sitting on the Ground, Stringers will soon begin to rot.
    Be sure your electrical feed connection can handle the lift. You will be glad you did. The Sides of the trim will keep the bottom one in place. Nice Job!♥ I have never seen a table saw used with the fence on that side of the blade. You are Right Handed, and I think you should try the fence on the opposite side of the blade.

    • @This1LifeWeLive
      @This1LifeWeLive  2 роки тому

      LOL, I use that quote to the extreme later on in the cabin build! The cabin is on crushed concrete, as recomeneded by the builders (for the same reasons), but in reading on other cabin forums they say best to put a tarp down THEN add concrete, or asphalt or blocks :) Extra moisture barrier ;)
      That table saw is is a funny one. The directions told me to put the fence on that side, so that's why I did it (that's how the numbers are laid out on the table). I'll ahve to double check and see if I CAN switch it . . . there were lots of dumb things we noticed with this saw, such as suggesting a dado blade that they decided to not make :( But thankyou for the tip, I might ike it better the other way :)

    • @gordbaker896
      @gordbaker896 2 роки тому

      @@This1LifeWeLive It may be just an oddball saw. It must be a common shaft size for the blade so other brand Dado blades should work but you may need a new wider plate on the table for them.
      Glad your She Shed is high and dry. Ventilation is needed beneath it too but keep the varmints out.
      You are lookin' good. Hope 2022 is better for everyone but not counting on it!
