This was such a great day on the mountain that I had to split it into 2 videos!
For the first part, I have met up with Gene from the Regular Guy MTB channel so that he can show me around his local DH mountain in Jersey: Mountain Creek.
Now, I'll be the first to admit, I was skeptical about a downhill park in Jersey, but my worries were quickly assuaged as I immediately got a great vibe from this place. Not only were there mountain bikers everywhere stoked to be out riding, I also had the pleasure to meet a whole slew of subscribers from our online YT community!!
Yea.... the riding was great too! Gene, Mike, and I had an awesome first part of the day starting with some warm up laps where I began to realize that I was in dire need of some new brakes!
Too bad so sad! I had gotten there late which meant limited time on the mountain, and there was no time to waste! Brakeless laps incoming...
I had a great experience at Mountain Creek quite some time ago. I was there in 2008, when the park was formerly know as Diablo, aboard a sketchy Kona Scrap dirtjumper. This was my first taste of downhill, and the braking bumps were absolutely killer on the bike. The lift operator named Kevin, known around the mountain as K-Bob, offered to lend me his Kona Scrap Primo for the day, which at the time, was the cats ass of freeride bikes. I couldn't believe the level of kindness I was receiving from this complete stranger, who only wanted me to have a great time mountain biking. actually, the waterpark at mountain creek used to be the infamous "action park" waterpark that had such a high injury level and the original looping waterslide back in the day so it's definitely worth going to just for the merit of going to action park lol

Loved your scream at the end! Thanks to Alex Brian, Jordan and Nate Hills for all the videos you have been putting up. I had a hip replacement on June 12th and won't be back to shredding till Sept. 12th. You guys have kept me stoked all summer while I do my sidewalk rides. Painful, not physically but mentally.
Just got an Intense Uzzi at the end of last season and have to let it sit. Winter Park is calling my name!

Good luck with the Hip dude. I had a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing 3 years ago. I had to stop riding for about 9 months but it was great to be back riding with no pain. The time went pretty fast. The hip still feels good and hasn't negatively affected my riding at all. Good luck stay focused on the rehab!

Right what I don't understand is why people dislike these videos, what is dislikeable about the Singletrack sampler?
I've never been, but it was surprising and cool to recognize a lot of bits from the Raw MTB vid with Richie Rude. You ride that stuff like a champ. Rude ride's that stuff like different laws of physics apply to him.
Davin Dahl I think you're thinking of when rude gaps that rainbow, the one in the video is actually different, that part of the trail where Richie did that is no longer there :(

Nice that the bike park had a bike shop. I dream of opening up a bike park in my home town (we have none and I think we could really use one) I would like to have bike shop on site. Although I don't want to be in competition with our two LBSs in town.

If you are still in the jersey area come cunninghm park in NYC for some good trails and jumps .....its only about an hour and a half drive....real quiet place that doesnt get enough credit

Hey bruh, make a video where you learn something beyond your abilities, something where you step outside your comfort zone. Like big drops and doubles. For us to see what it takes to overcome those mental obstacles. I have only been riding for a little over a month and its insane fun. Cheers.
