I always use high heat and speed at the start to get those roots dry and to cure my stylers. Lately I have been skipping the pixie part and aiming the diffuser bowl at the mids and ends. Volume is for day 2 and 3.
Thanks for the walkthrough Marisa! There is also a video done by ManesByMell where she talks to a Dyson engineer. He explained that their blow dryer was engineered to be temperature smart, and never reaches a temperature that is hot enough to damage your hair, even on high heat. 🤯
Really helpful Marisa, thank you. I occasionally use moderate to high heat when drying my hair too as the Belissima hair diffuser doesn't have a cold setting...no adverse affects thankfully.
Wish I could use high heat. My Dyson burns my scalp. I have alot of hair. I wouldn't thought it was possible. But I'm a red head so maybe more sensitive.
It is so interesting seeing other people's routines. I use low/medium heat, high speed, and hammock diffusing. Hammock diffusing has changed the game as far as root volume and curling for me.
Really helpful Marisa, thanks!! I'm still very new to my wavy process and it's so good to hear that things don't have to be done a certain way. How long does the diffusing process take in total? What proportion of time would you spend on the original hover to dry the roots vs the rest?
It usually takes me around 20 minutes to diffuse with the dyson 😃 closer to 40 with any other dryer though. I maybe do 1 quarter hover diffusing and then the rest cupping 😃
It’s a brilliant dryer and diffuser but I personally reach more for my dyson or Laifen than the curlsmith one. Laifen is my recommendation as it’s almost identical to the Dyson but less than half the price.
I don’t like anyone that tells me I MUST or I HAVE to do something. I guess maybe some part of me is still a kid, tell me I have to do something is a sure way to get me to question why.
Great video Marisa so so helpful, really good bits of advice. We would love to work with you so you could try out our amazing hair products. DM us if you are interested in working together.😊
I’m learning a lot from you!… I can’t afford the dyson … but I’m going to try the con air infinite pro…. I’m excited!
Oh that’s exciting!

I like the extra shrinkage I get from cupping the diffuser 😃 but I definitely do more hover diffusing than I used to

That’s great!
I absolutely love your color! 🤩
Thank you so much ☺️

Oh that’s so interesting, I hadn’t heard of that before but I just googled it and saw it’s from Wavy Curly Ali, I will definitely have to give it a go
@@MarisasCurls that's where I learned it from! I set down a t-shirt, spiral my hair down into it, and watch UA-cam while I diffuse. 🤭

...I meant to say how long does it take you..
(I realise it can be very different depending on how wet hair is at start, hair thickness etc...)

What are your thoughts on the Curlsmith diffuser vs the Dyson?

@@MarisasCurls Thank you so much!
@PyynkBOB if you do go for the Laifen the code MARISALF gets you a discount too 😃
@@MarisasCurls Wonderful!
So when you reduce your heat do you reduce the power?
Usually not, I tend to use it full power the whole way through unless I’m really trying to reduce frizz as much as possible

Haha yes I get this 🤣
