    Fabulous! I have had a curly girl routine for 12 years and I still learn more all the time. Sometimes a product changes formula, then hair changes (hello gray hair). The Noughty and UG are new to me and I am checking them out. Thanks!

    Such a wonderful & helpful video! I was curious what you would say the main difference is between the Noughty To The Rescue and the Wave Hello shampoo and conditioner?

      I’m so glad you found it helpful!
      The Wave Hello ones are thicker and richer but protein free, I find the To The Rescues to be lighter and they contain protein 😄

    After I apply products to my damp hair and let it air dry it takes my hair 2 and a half days to completely dry.... This is the main reason that I damp style my hair then diffuse it or use the nozzle attachment to finish drying my hair.... And because of that my favorite hair style to do is pin curls after I have washed my hair and applied my curly hair products then I use the nozzle attachment to help my pin curls dry faster I will do that about 6 times throughout the day..... I take out the pin curls after 8 to 12 hrs use spray gel and hair oil then fluff my curls and my hair stays until my next wash day

    Hi!! Thanks for your video it's super helpful, all my life my hair had been pin straight from the ages of 5 till about 17 and now at 20 years old I'm noticing that my hair is in fact curly! However one side of my hair seems to curl more than the other and it's super annoying and I have no idea what to do. What can you suggest please? Thanks again! You've gained a subscriber 😊❤

    Very nice video, full of great advice I wish I had when starting out (even though I know I would have gone to look for more but oh well, hindsight)
    I agree so much with what you said ! Some stuff still happens to me.
    I tried a really nice cowash recently and almost gave up on it. I shampoo twice usually because my hair is porous and very oily, but didn't think to cowash twice and had oil left on my roots that wouldn't dry. I had to rewash my hair and immediately blamed the cowash, even though it was my fault. I did scrub way more than I typically do, but I didn't think to do it twice, even though I have to even with shampoo ! Trial and error doesn't end when you know your hair, it happens with every new product and technique combination.
    Also, the products you recommended, I really like that they are budget friendly, but sticking to one line, especially in the beginning also gets a lot of guess work out of the equation. Those products are from the same line and are designed to work greatly together, you don't have to ask yourself if they are "fighting" against each other IN your hair and thus creating a result that you don't like or excess frizz.

    Marisa, I’d love some advice I used the Umberto Giannini Banana Butter shampoo, conditioner plus the leave in Banana conditioner, then the styling products I used were the Crème de Curl control cream and ended with the scalp and Hair superfood Vit oil. It’s feeling less frizzy, softer and less tangly. But it looks greasy. What am I doing wrong. Can send you a photo if that helps. Would love your advice please. Thanks.

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  Рік тому

      I would say that using the leave in, plus a curl cream and an oil is why it’s greasy. I would only use a leave in or a cream and then if I use oil I would only use a drip or two.

    • @gilliangoodman9078
      @gilliangoodman9078 Рік тому

      @MarisasCurls OK, so .maybe leave out the normal conditioner and just use leave in one. I love the smell of them, they smell like those banana sweets you can buy.
      The Creme de Curl.
      And less oil maybe. Thank you
      Could show you a photo, but i can't on here.. Thanks again

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  Рік тому +1

      I would use the regular conditioner and either the banana butter leave in or the curl cream. And I would also try a gel to lock it in

    I have a question - I have used the Umberto curly products in the pink tubes and have never tried the banana butter. What would you say is the main difference in the two? I'm not super thrilled with the ones I have tried - I would say they are just OK. Having used the curlsmith products - there is no comparison! What are your thoughts?

    Do you recommend doing a final wash with baby shampoo to strip the hair before beginning or should you just jump straight into it? Thanks!

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 роки тому +1

      It’s up to you, I would say it’s worth doing one last sulphate shampoo. Not necessarily baby shampoo as a lot of baby shampoo don’t have strong enough surfactants in them. Some do but you would be best to use a sulphate shampoo (that doesn’t have silicones if you will be avoiding them)

    Hmmm, I was using the Noughty Wave Hello styler as a leave in conditioner because it's so creamy. However I'm not loving the results. Is there a different way I should try use this product?

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 роки тому

      I like it as a single styler on drier then soaking wet hair. I don’t use a huge amount. I actually have a video on here showing it from 2020 I think it was. If you type budget friendly Noughty Washday into UA-cam search then it should come up

    My problem is figuring out my hair identity. Things like curl type, porosity level, elasticity. I’ve watch so many tricks and tips but i still can’t figure out! My hair gets wet quickly and at the same time it gets dry quickly, so much frizz going on

      @@MarisasCurls Doesn’t it affect what kind iod products suits my hair best? Most of what i seem to have used weighs my hair down instead of letting it be fluffy and voluminous 🥺

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 роки тому

      The fact that your hair is easily weighed down is a good bit of info to help you choose products. Look for lightweight products, not overly heavy with lots of heavy oils and butters. Eg curlsmith scalp line or shine line would be good, Noughty to the rescue line and their curl jelly too, also umberto giannini curl products. They are all lightweight

    I really wish the umberto gianini mousse didnt have dimethicone. I want to try it but worried itll build up

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 роки тому +1

      It’s a PEG dimethicone which means that the dimethicone is water soluble so will wash right out with water next wash and won’t build up. I have always used PEG silicones even though I dont use regular ones for this very reason 😁 even if you cowash a PEG silicone will come right out

    I found you because of your interview on Swavy Curly Courtney. I am one year in and stopped bleaching my hair after 20 years. Lately I have been feeling bad about my natural color. Commonly referred to as “mousy dishwater blonde” I was very close to buckling under and having highlights done. Then I saw your hair and I thought oh she has beautiful shiny hair with beautiful natural highlights. Then I realized that your hair is EXACTLY the color of my hair. Why it took seeing someone else with my color in order for me to see that beauty is beyond me, but I’m so grateful!!!

      @@MarisasCurls my curl pattern is a bit looser than yours but the color, texture, even the parting and gray streak in front is the same. I even get that same flat spot in back that sometimes looks like I laid on it all day. I have been watching a lot of your channel the past few days. My hair also tends to get over moisturized and likes protein. I’m just so happy I found your channel.
