- The cool autumn breeze and the sound of insects.
It reminds me of the summer festivals I went to when I was little.
Adults were carrying Mikoshi (portable shrines) with all their hearts for a single purpose.
Like their parents showed them when they were children.
The sight of them taught us more important things than simple words.
We will never forget such things no matter how much time passes.
When the sound of insects and the autumn wind blows,
I realize the greatness of what they have taught me.
And I suddenly feel nostalgic in the wind.
And I believe that we will teach the next generation in the same way.

秋の涼しい風と、虫の声。
小さい頃に行った夏祭りを思い出す。
大人たちが一つの目的のために一心不乱に神輿をかつぐ。
簡単な言葉なんかよりも、大切なことをその姿で教えてくれる。
そういうものは、どれだけ時間が経っても忘れない。
虫の声と、秋の風が吹いたら、教えてくれたことの大きさに気づいて
ふと懐かしい気持ちになる。
そしてまた次の世代へと同じように教えていくんだろうな。

While we sift through our camcorder tapes and yellowing photographs, this precious child will have cinematic memories of his childhood and his beautiful parents.
It was such joy watching Isshin following Koji example of respect and honour at the Shrine. Raising a child can be filled with doubt and anxiety, worry and fear not knowing if we do the right thing in what we teach them or give a good example to learn from. Shiba, Koji what you share in your videos show you have found a good path to walk with Isshin. To show him the strong bonds of family. To know what love and affection is. There is a song from the Sondheim musical Into the woods titled "Children will listen". It speaks to how children listen and look to elders and learn from what we do and say. Peace always.❤🌻❤
I just found the lyric of the song and yeah I think it is true. They listen and watching us what we are doing and more Feeling I guess. So we are taking care what we feel about and talk to my son. Plus I am especially not a perfect person as a parents haha, so If he learns what he wants to choose in his life from my mistakes too. I want to make him to choose own life on knowing shadow and light:) I believe every single way of my own mistakes and failure is power to live now:) Thank you always for letting us know great wisdom!
I call this "achingly beautiful". It is so lovely that it makes my heart ache from the beauty (and I want to cry). The quiet atmosphere, the teaching of cultural traditions, and the love you share with each other and your son. It is all just so sweet and lovely. Thank you for sharing your life with us all. ❤️

This makes makes me miss living in Japan. I lived there in the mid 1970s when my dad was stationed in Misawa Japan. We would travel around Japan when he would have the weekend off. We went to Lake Towada, Hirosaki for the Cherry Blossom and Chrysanthemum Festivals, Akita, and other places. Japan is such a beautiful and magical place.💖💖
