for people who are asking about how she’s using retinol and vitamin c: she mentioned it in her previous videos how her skin can tolerate them both. most people can’t and shouldn’t try because it cause irritation and can lead to chemical burn.
also, the moisturizer uses a derivative form of vitamin c which tend to be extremely well tolerated. my skin is very sensitive and i can handle a derivative c serum and adapalene 0.1% in the same night. i don't think most people need to worry about using a retinoid and a derivative of vit c together!
Her skin seems quite resilient to tolerate mandelic acid, kojic acid, alpha arbutin, retinol and vitamin c all in one routine. But please be cautious. It's better to be safe than sorry. 😅
@@twiceforever83 nobody said she didnt he legit just recomended people to test and be careful because not all people can tolerate this much and hes right lmao..i like how u can read a comment without understanding it at all
She frequently talks about things like percentages of ingredients, what forms they're in and beginners vs people who have been using ingredients for a while. It's not that her skin is particularly unique or anything. It's that she's built up to this point. It would be irresponsible and reckless for anyone to only watch a couple of shorts and just decide "oh I'm going to do exactly that because she looks amazing" without educating themselves a bit more. Personal responsibility is still important.
I’m so scared of mixing my trentinoin with ANYTHING! My neck literally has marks now. My ac went out and I was sweating in my sleep. I look like someone cut my throat. 😅but my face looks great 🫠

@@hollywood9414 honestly I wouldn’t even if it’s low exfoliation. Unless you’re a veteran with tretinoin and exfoliating. But on days I exfoliate, I skip tret.

She also has at least one video discussing various in office treatments in general.

If you'd onto where make up do you need to double cleanse? I always see people use 2 cleansers but the first one seem to remove make up and I can't find a reason for if you don't where make up?
I thought exfoliating and using a retinoid in the same night wasn’t good? Am I completely misinterpreting this? Should I be very hazardous if I use both same day?
So you don't put retinol on the bottom half of your face basically? Or only a little bit? Maybe I could tolerate tretinoin if I did that. I end up getting literally 100 tiny skin colored bumps on my chin even when I gradually work up tretinoin frequency and focus on moisture.
I didn't think mandelic acid could be used together retinol (layered), I use it on alternative night. I have my acne under control now 🤞 got light rosacea. I use niacinamide, mandelic acid, hyaluronic acid, retinol, ascorbic acid, azelaic acid. anot all together of course 😊 So the question is - is it Okey for me to use mandelic acid & retinol on same night? Also what else should I incorporate in my skincare routine. I am 39.
Of course you know your skin the best, but I wouldn't use it together retinol and any chemical exfoliants or vitamin c. Dermatologist don't recommend it. What i found in my research is that if you want to use it in the same routine you have to wait about 30 min between using AHA or BHA and retinol, but best to use on next day.
Speaking of allergy pills, I take allergy pills everyday because I'm literally allergic to everything. I still have these red bumps on my arm, that don't go away. I went to an allergy specialist and he says these red bumps on my arms is because of allergies. They look like chicken skin and acne but they're not getting any better by salicylic acid. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm gonna order the hyperpigmentation set as soon as I have the money. I have had hyperpigmentation above my lip for a few years now and it's messed with my confidence so much as I look like I have a mustache 😢 I really am hoping this product will work because I am going to have to save up for it. As a single mom it's hard but hey qe make it work. Anyone use her products for hyperpigmentation? Results? Comments?
Dr shereene often mentions that it depends on your skin. If you can tolerate them together its good. Dont instantly use them together, it gradually adds in and your skin will become capable.
It depends on the type of vitamin C. Her moisturizer contains tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate which is a non irritating form of vit C and is safe to use with retinol. (source: i binged her tiktoks and she mentioned it lol)
SHE used SOOO MANY ACIDS. My sensitive skin COULD NEVER and I need my barrier in tact so I resist the urge. So many non professionals do this and BURN THERE SKIN
Do you think retinol or retinal are truly worth it? I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time with the Youth to the People retinal and if I should just start tretinoin. I have the same question but for vitamin c. Given how unstable it could be and how the formulation and delivery method makes or breaks it, I don't know if my Vichy vitamin C is doing anything for me.
Whether it's worth it or not really depends on your skin. Retinol and retinal definitely work, I've seen too many derms talk about them for them not to work; BUT your results will almost always be better with tret because it's stronger, so if you can go with tret, that's the way to go. When retinal and retinol are better than tret is when your skin can't handle tret, or tret is holding you back in some way with your routine. If tret is too irritating for you, then you're doing more damage then help for one. Now, onto one way it could hold you back: Personally I can use tret, but I can't use any other actives with it, even if it's on different nights/not in the same skincare routine as the tret. The problem with this for me is that I use it for acne, but tret on its own isn't enough to keep my acne at bay. (Salicylic acid and sulphur is a must for me.) I switched to adapalene for a while, which worked well, but then I moved to Retinal, which is even better for me. Less irritation and I have the fewest breakouts I've had in my life. (Fun Fact as well for acne prone people: Retinal has shown in some studies to have anti bacterial properties, while the other retinoids have not. That might be another reason why it works so well for me.)
for people who are asking about how she’s using retinol and vitamin c:

I wish this were in the caption as to avoid any potential irritation that could result from any confusion. Not to mention the Mandelic acid as well.
I thought I heard her say one destabilize the other
@@sherryseegobin1938 there’s many brands that combine vitamin c and retinol into one. Also, a vitamin c moisturizer is more gentle than a serum.
