THIS IS SUCH A PHENOMENAL TUTORIAL!!!! I have hair this length but a good bit curlier, I had someone else follow all the steps on me and it came out amazing! If you’re a wavy/curly-haired person looking for the right wolf cut tutorial vid, THIS IS IT!
I love it ! Sadly i dont have this hair texture , my hair are curlier than this , i would really appreciate it if u did a mullet / shaggy and a wolf cut on really curly hair ! Awesome video btw
Hi guys 😌 You could check out Manes by Mell, she's got very curly hair and she's a hairdresser I think. I watched her video called: MY EASY/UPDATED DIY CURLY HAIR CUT (the pigtails cut) It's a slightly different cut, but it's a similar overal look in terms of where the volume is. So you can get an idea of what a really curly version of this shape looks like, and how to cut it whilst not cutting away your curls too much. You might find her videos helpful if her hair is similar to you coz she explains a lot 😌
Me too! I have like Shirley temple curls which is so hard to manage, so I just wear wigs all the time. So I would LOVE a good cut so I can just rock my natural hair again
Just found this tutorial aaand I know you said not to cut it myself buuut I did...and I'm soo happy with the result! Best hairstyle for me like, ever. I've never gotten what I asked for at the hairdresser's, and due to my curly texture, they cut it too short every time. Thank you for the tutorial! 😍👌
Changed my mind about which cut is best for me, and I really like the results you've got here. Gotta watch this thoroughly to make sure I 21:22 section the top correctly. You have a knack for educating others, well done Paul, as always!
I've just tried it. I have a very thick 2b/2c hair, medium lenght, which already had a wolf cut. I decided to try this because my hair had lost all the natural texture when the hairdresser cut it in a regular way. This video really helped me and my waves are starting to show off again. But if you want to try this, just be aware that this twisting technic will cut a lot of hair off and it's almost impossible to do without a good pair of scissors. I mean I do have a small pair of professional scissors and it almost couldn't do the job.
I feel like the wolf cut is BEST on a hair texture like this! I wish my hair had this kind of texture. But I’ve found that bath robe curls+ a living proof volume spray (I don’t remember the official name) & it gives enough texture& movement for my updo hairs for work.
Now this is exactly my hair texture, I’m growing mine and starting to wear it natural. I use a razor and cut my sisters hair in a very similar way with the twisting. Works well x thanks for the video
I like you. Nothing negative to say what so ever. I followed your original tutorial and it looks great. I did my daughter the same way and she looks great too and we’re both curly girls. The mannequin loos a bit sad and/or angry though 😆
NOW THAT'S A WOLF CUT! 🎉🎉 If only I saw this last week! I have wavy, curly hair. This what I wanted, but what I got was a basic, layered bob! I wanted to have the rocker look. Instead I left looking like a Sunday school teacher! 😭 This video is awesome!
I can listen to his adorable-ass all day, he's easy on the eye's to right y'all! He is also a brilliant stylist and articulates his technique so well I think I just might give it a try!
Wow wow wow 🤩 stunning results ……. As usual, simple and efficient…… love it. Thank you for sharing Paul. I’m sorry not to be always able for the moment to follow your live with James…… but I’m trying to catch it after 😉 Hope you are doing well and your back good 👍🏻 Take care 😉
This was fantastic! I need to try that disconnected diamond. My hair is much tighter curl than the dummy so I don't think I can back cut without the ends loooking too thin but I'm definitely going to try the diamond
THIS HAIRCUT WAS SO EASY AND LOOKS SO PRETTY!!! I have really thick hair that is a little curlier than the mannequin but lacking volume from the cut I had at the salon. I followed this tutorial and now my hair has so much volume and shape, I cannot believe I cut it myself and it looks so good!! The only difficult step was the diamond part, make sure you have someone to help you. If you have curly hair, save this video!! Thank you Paul!
I saw an article that older people aren't wearing "older" styles like previous generations and wearing longer and trendier cuts! Go for it you'll look amazing ❣
Could you do this same technique but add a curtain fringe? Would it still look good? My client has this texture but slightly more curly around the face.
Hi Paul, if I was doing this cut on someone that wanted to lose 4/5 inches of perimeter length at the back, would I elevate lower to remove that? Or cut the length first? Or something else? Great tutorial as always. Thank you!
Do you need to do this method on curly hair? Or could the reguksr wolf cut tutorial you have done work on wavy/soft curly hair? I want to do one but not sure which to use 😊
How does back cutting it cause split ends? My hair used to have multiple splits up the strand, my individual strands are quite thick. Just curious. This cut really is beautiful. The nice thing about this cut on 4c hair is it allows one to keep volume, but have less hair to deal with.
I’m curious, have you tried this cut on your hair? Did it cause split ends? I’m a professional hairstylist experienced in cutting curly hair textures and slide cutting or razor cutting only worked for straight-wavy textures and not super curly hair. Back-cutting back and forth really roughs up the cuticle; it creates lots of “texture” in the hair, but roughing up the hair that way will weaken it, causing it to break or split sooner; and you’ll have lots more frizz. If your hair is coarse and very curly I think this technique would create more frizz for you. BUT! It all depends on the look you want. 🙂 If you want mega volume and don’t mind frizz I’d say go for it. There’s another wolf cut video Paul did on his yellow-haired mannequin that he did without back-cutting. You might give that a look just to widen your horizons and give you more options. 👌❤️
@@kristenlandon1538 you answered my question. I thought this might rough up the cuticle. I haven’t tried a cut like this. I just remembered those splits up my hair when it was relaxed. I think I meant this would work on 4c hair because of the parting technique, and the twist and cut. Maybe using thinning shears or linking shears (year I know they are for dress making 😆) to get more pieces without the frizz. I’m so not a hairdresser. I just love the art form.
My hair is frizzy and it's shoulder length, it's only curly when i air dry it but it goes away when i comb it, my curls are unnatural but will this still look good if comb it?
It looks great and soft like an angel from the eighties!! Once again I do recommend a darker background for blondes. However, that scissor technique on natural curly hair,,,may force them to cut off 2 inches the next visit. I know this vid was a long time But give me some feedback or tell me to ..hush woman!! Haaaaa
i've always wanted a wolf cut but my hair isn't this curly, it's curlier and thicker, and frizzy, i'm not sure if i will look good in this hair cut because of my hair, hope u will make this vid again but with thick frizzy hair
How about spread the ends then deep tip cutting instead of the fraying???? I'm no expert but I do know what happens When hair gets Special scissor treatment..lol
Mmmmh looks very nice, but I have naturally curly and frizzy hair and will never let hairdressers use razors or any back cutting like this on my hair again: done it multiple times in the past and the result has invariably been crazy dry split ends and massive frizz. Big no for me unfortunately...
I love the cut, but that mannequin hair is NOT frizzy! If you backcut frizzy hair it's going to frizz even more. I'd love to see you do this cut on an actual person with frizzy hair.
My hair is frizzy and poofy and I tried to cut it shorter like above my shoulders but it always ends up even more poofy like a clowns wig and I hated it so much. Yes, my hair has volume that many people dont have but many poeple also have never seen too much poof on a hair like mine. I read on google that frizzy and poofy hair is best cut into a wolf cut with many layers to thin out some of the hair but I'm a bit skeptical. I have always loved the look of a wolf cut but my mom is a bit worried that it might frizz my hair up even more and I don't was my hair to look like pubic hair on top of my head. I dont know what to do XD
Have you tried hair plopping? I recently started doing that and it helped. Lots of girls on UA-cam talk about techniques for eliminating frizz. I find it works well to apply leave-in conditioner to sopping wet hair, then apply a hair gel. Squeeze out and crunch up all the curls up into the hair, while draining the extra water out, and then get your hair into a microfiber plop for at least 30 min. Never ever use terry cloth towels on your hair. Also, swap to satin or silk pillowcase, and consider protective hairstyles to sleep in. There are so many things you can do to protect your hair from frizz. It's really just a matter of finding products that work with your hair type and oiliness. But curly hair is naturally much more dry than straight hair, so it needs a lot of moisturizing.
Oh, and don't brush it. I went through middle school brushing my curls out like a poodle. Don't mess with your curls unless it's wet and you're getting it ready to style.
I really think when working on a blonde model, The background and your shirt should be a darker color and when working on a brunette, your background and shirt should be a lighter color.
Would appreciate you list the items so I can go straight to the product. As it is it’s on your page and I haven’t a clue what section it’s in so not bought. ☛ⁱ ᵉ lustre lock. I’ll just put that in Amazon. Luck if it’s on your list. Would like to support you tho
Oh man how heartbreaking. You're gonna fray the ends with the razor scissor technique. Oh mannnn, Looks like a nice finish style tho, super nice look. But i've had too many bad experiences. Tell me how that scissor technique does not create frayed frizzed split ends ? I guess this is more for ppl who go to the stylist often. And now you're saying you're working curly hair. Curly hair is fragile. It's texture is caused by the turning of ( what many people believe) weak points in each of the curl arounds.
This must be a joke right.......that is not curly hair AT ALL . It's at its best a shabby wavy unbrushed hair!!! Calling it curly is borderline offensive.
Agreed, it is barely wavy. Calling it curly is the old Eurocentric scale where Shirley Temple's were considered extreme, and anything beyond that was ignored or permanently straightened -- even though half the world is beyond that. Mr. Watts, for inclusivity, please update your criteria for describing hair as wavy vs. curly.

I'm trying to figure out how to cut the back too. I don't care about preserving length.

Thank you for posting! I just made a video following your method on my hair (3A/3b curls). Really happy with how it came out!

Great cut!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! i’ve just been denying to do it for a while cuz i thought my hair was too curly or wavy, but i’m gonna try it today MAYBE 😭
Love this because of the longer fringe, or bangs as we call them here in the US. This resembles my hair type better! Thank you so much!!
Thank you, welcome to my hair channel, great to have you as a subscriber.
kindly more haircuts videos about frizzy hairs /curly hairs ..
Any other good haircuts for this hair texture? I am looking into cutting my hair soon and looking for a change :)
