im hoping for a assassin creed in Africa with a white protagonist talking with a chinese accent.
So John Cena? Nobody can see him so he would be perfect for the game.
Hey I’m black in Idgaf if they made a ac in Africa with a white person😂
Will that protagonist also be a nonbinary dwarf and multiple amputee?

There’s 2 protagonists, Yasuke, the samurai, and the female Shinobi / Assassin

@@gabrielmartinez787 You're right, I am saying that specifically BECAUSE he's Black, and I'd say the same if he was White or Hispanic. This is FEUDAL JAPAN, like the ONE Assassin's Creed area set in Asia where they can put an Asian Protagonist. When I think Samurai, I don't think Black guy, or White Guy, I think Asian guy because those are the only people wearing that armor in that time period lol.
You would not have these same feelings if he was white
@@ayewun22 Look at the comment above yours...am I racist for wanting an Asian (not white) Protagonist for the Asian Setting and Feudal Time period?
@@ayewun22 your comment drips with racism. The OP is correct. Japanese character, in Japan, in a historical context of Japan. Clearly, this is hw it should have gone. Race swapping is not cool. Imagine for a moment a white person played Mohammed Ali, or an Indian played the role of queen Victoria. Or well you get the picture.
If they want black historic characters, why not make an Assassin's Creed in, you know.. africa? I have no doubts that there's amazing historic events taken place all around Africa that can be really interesting to play.
EDIT: Other than Origins..
This. Imagine playing a zulu warrior with that classic leaf shaped shield and a spear. A savannah setting would be great. But noooo. Cant have that. Because its not about adding things. Its only about taking it away from others.
That would require too much work. Why take the time to research African folk lore to craft a potentially cool setting, story, characters, etc. for a game when you can just use another culture's more well-known lore and such.
Well Origins was in Africa already and we played as Egyptian,
I don't really think in deep Africa was anything interesting, there was no civilization, no cities and buildings

Got to love how western media insists Yasuke was a Samurai and yet history shows he never really was one just the west making a huge buzz about it. So just a certain group trying to culturally appropriate things.
Yusuke was a commodity and a thing to show for Nobunaga, who loved to show him. Eventually took a liking to him and had him as a retainer of some sort. Once that shield disappeared, Yusuke went back into the slave market and he vanishes from history (as any other minor character). They will surely make another "Woman King" scenario.

There is a very important separation between what actually was and what is presented in Japanese museums.

They don't admit that he was a "true samurai" because he was not Japanese. However any actual functioning Japanese historian that looks outside of the pride will inform you that the only two aspects needed to be considered a samurai in status was this. Seen the advertisement, first thing I thought was that it obviously had been tampered with by some degree for you to pay money to not have an “escape from reality” but to have real life radical politics and people who wish to “educate” you by weaving their “inclusive” but niche extremist values into your games as a way to “inclusively” radicalise the audience for different motives than game quality in many forms: forced minority empowerment (not bad if it’s realistic), forced gay diversity, culture “normalisation” etc. Anyone who couldn’t spot this years ago has either normalised it or doesn’t care. The industry is an absolute joke in recent time.
The head of Sweet Baby Inc is someone with a narcissistic and opinionated defensive mindset and set of political values who by no means is “inclusive” but tries to root out any form of thinking that is normal or acceptable through trying to standardise their abnormal way of thinking with identity politics as a form of trying to make themself seem viable/rational and convert people to a so-called empathetic and “open-minded” set of ideals. Obviously the best way to do this is to set up a company that targets the audience they know will never listen to them in any other form then a game.

Oda the master of Yasuke was a Samurai not Yasuke himself, the Britains just saw a (or heard) about a black dude with a sword and a traditional Japanese armor and call him "Samurai".
If this come up a few month ago I ask why this character must be the playable main protagonist, I mean he can be in the game as a trainer, an ally or a target, but why playable, it would be the same if they make Assassin's Creed in Africa and the main playable protagonist would be Quatermain.
So I commented it and also called Yasuke a Samurai and than I had a nice chat with a Japanese History teacher and he was really mad that anyone called Yasuke a Samurai. They were not called female viking warriors, they were refered to as shield maidens and did partake in battles.
The actual evidence for that is extremely thin and not convincing. The media would make you believe otherwise.
True even in their lore they talk about valkyries
In most groups throughout history, there are very few female warriors simply due to the fact that women were too important to risk. Someone needed to protect the children while the hunters/warriors were away.

The anime was really bad
Team ninja got it right. If you want to play a black samurai you could just make one, but never forced to play one. They need to have a character creator.
As someone who isn't braindead with this whole "woke" argument, I'm very interested in AC Shadows as it seems to be blending in both new and old AC in Shadows depending on the protagonist you choose. This means you can either play a more traditional stealth game or more action adventure. Though I'll be honest, Ubisoft doesn't have the best track record when it comes to their fans- even though Microsoft is taking much of the heat after their shutdowns.
However, personally, I'm more excited on the location of Japan and the history in it. Say all you want about AC games, but they are some excellent teachers when it comes too history. And now that they are doing a game based around the Sengoku Jidai period, there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL to explore. This is also true when it comes to the leads themselves:
-Naoe Nagato, the fictional daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato - lead of the Iga clan and one of the greatest ninja to ever have existed. And yes, women were ninja during that time period, and dare I say probably better ones as well- sometimes even more brutal than their male counterparts. Here is the thing, Fujibayashi Nagato was against Oda Nobunaga, especially after Nobunaga invaded Iga and tried to stamp out the ninja clans for good. That's how we were able to have another famous ninja: Ishikawa Goemon. So I am curious on how that will conflict with Yasuke.
-Yasuke, a REAL LIFE black retainer/samurai of Oda Nobunaga, known as the "Great Unifier" of Japan. Arguably, not much is known in comparison to his retainers, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu; some have even stated he never truly existed and was rather Toyotomi Hidetsugu. Personally, I'm more inclined to believe that he was real as the information him is just too interesting to ignore. Regardless, it will be an interesting as, unlike Oda, the retainers seemed in good terms with the Iga clans. In fact, it was because of this friendly relationship that Tokugawa Ieyasu was able to survive after there was a betrayal within Oda's mist; a ninja byy the name Hattori Hanzo.
Honestly, if anyone wants to learn more about the Sengoku Jidai period, look up Extra History and their series on it. And if you want to see ninja/samurai, check Gajin Goomba as he explores what made good ninja versus bad ones- including female! I try not to ever plug anything in like this, but in this case, it might be needed. That way people can be hyped about this game and its historical potential, but to also put to rest this whole "woke" argument.
Sweet baby cancer... Great.
The woman is a ninja. Not a samurai.
AC in Africa is more interesting than this AC in Japan. Just respect the culture and dont blast the game with woke sh!t and will be a good game.
an ac in africa would be cool as hell. more so if they didn’t already destroy their lore and story. it would make sense that an important isu item/location would be in the birthplace of humanity. but i think ubisoft is realizing this might be their last ac game so this was their last chance to have a black mc.
honestly having the samurai combat oriented character is dumb to me anyways, even if it was a japanese person. it’s ASSASSINS creed. ever since i was 12 i have wanted an assassins creed set in japan, and when i pictured that in my head i saw us playing as a shinobi type character, mainly focused on stealth like the old games. i don’t know why they didn’t just have the shinobi character, let us choose our gender like odyssey/valhalla, and make Yasuke a side character like da Vinci. would’ve made sense if they changed his history like they do for most other notable npcs, instead of pretending like his new history is real to shoehorn him into the mc slot.
I don’t care what nobody say. I’m going to play this game, because I like the art style of it
Im expecting killmonger hair 😂
I really used to be a massive fan of AC, its so sad to see the franchise become yet another piece of woke garbage.
Thanks sweet baby inc! Helping games bomb and hit sales even sooner! Saving us money!
Tbh we all know the story is gonna be dogshit cause u can simply look back at Odyssey&Vallhala. The only thing i hope for is a better gameplay than the previous RPG bullshit we have gotten
Days like this I am glad I don’t have time for gaming anymore
Good, perfect. Assassins creed is dead anyway. Make it a bigger failure, Ubisoft deserves it anyway
Dude
Someone has to say it
The things you are saying are racist
There is no problem with Yasuke being shown in the game
He's a well beloved Japanese/african historical figure
And he has, many times, been portrayed as a samurai
So there is no problem this time as well
It could be the best game and will not buy it out of principle. I have no issues if they would have included a mission where they would interact with these characters, but come on… a game in Japan related to ninja and samurai and will not have a male protagonist? Plus what Ubisoft did with the Crew? I say thank you for saving me money that I will not use to buy your woke game.
Yeah... But AC is Les historical with every edition, Hollywood vikings, whatever :p
HAHA! Oh Ubisoft! DOA!
You lost me at “Ubisoft is…”
Aaand now I want to play Ghost of Tsushima again.
What? I think they stablished that Odin and Sif had gender swapped in their sage incarnation. Ir was weird to see until the revelation they were sages, which make it kind of make sense.
Now the AC in Japan that was dream of payers for years is receiving the MCU Black Widow treatment.
Not sure how they're going to do this exactly, because Ninpo is incompatible with Assassyun tenets. Winning by any means necessary for instance, when taken to extremes, could discard one of the tenets - to stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent. Not refrain from killing the innocent, but stay your blade from their flesh, as in forbear from threatening with use of force.
Assassins, even though they adapt to use environmental blending if necessary, are (people forget this) really bound by their tenets to hide in plain sight, utilizing mainly SOCIAL stealth, to be the 'blade in the crowd', ever watching and yet unseen.
Another problem lies in the fact that Shinobi work for the State, or the Daimyo in their case, whereas Assassins work for the interests of the common people. Don't be fooled. They are not the same, even though they may use parallel methods!
Its the all caps on black and female that crack me up
People have been asking Ubi for a samurai AC game since 3, they kept fiddling around until we got one made by another studio. I doubt that their combat is going to be half as good as GoT's combat. I'd be down for an AC game set in WW1 or the Cold War, the settings are getting stale nowadays.
When they make a female protagonist I want realism, I want a PMS meter and when it gets full you can press a button to unleash a rage attack. This move should be designed to make the male characters capitulate the way modern western men do.
Apparently.... Yasuke was a more likely a bodyguard to a Jesuit missionary whom went with Yasuke to Japan. This means Yasuke PROBABLY have military or combat training from the Portuguese BEFORE he arrived in Japan so if he got any training to be Samurai from Nobunaga, he/ Yasuke would have learnt easier and faster compared to an utterly complete non-combatant noob.
It wasn't OFFICIALIZED because Nobunaga died before he could anoint YASUKE as a Samurai. However...... apparently...., it should be noted that YASUKE fought battles alongside Nobunaga's army of Samurais. 🤷🤷
It wouldn't be much of a stretch to create an entertainment fiction story just a little added on to portray him as a Samurai which is fine with me.
After all my priority is the gameplay, graphics and the plot for entertainment.
The period blood logo 😭
Apparently it seems the video commentator and most of the comments section has NEVER has of HISTORICAL FICTION genre across movies, tv series, games and/or novels etc.
This is fictional narrative interwoven with some real life history like many fictional movies and tv shows set in WW2, Vietnam War and/or Iraq War (real life wars) of fictional stories about Nazis and/or US soldiers in a fictional story that didn't happen.
Many have used historical real life people in fictional narratives across various genres of entertainment.
Short list of some real historical people who have been used MULTIPLE TIMES in Historical fiction entertainment....
......William Shakespeare, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Joan of Arc, King Arthur, Alexander the Great, Anne Frank, Leonardo da Vinci, Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Queen Elizabeth I, Marilyn Monroe, George Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, Queen Victoria, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Marie Antoinette, Genghis Khan and many MANY others.
How come none of you complain about those movies and tv shows that did that? ... Suddenly NOW its a problem i wander?
Fr💀
We've wanted an AC game set in Japan for years. Of all the Samurai or ronin or even shogun they could have used tehy use a character of little cultural or historical impact. I've played all AC on PS up to Valhalla now just because SBI is involved and Ubi says to get used to not owning our games for these two reasons I'm not interested.
had to wait years to see Assassins Creed sets in Japan, what did they give us? black MC who isn't a samurai, he was a slave and retainer
why does the world have to be about them?
Shield maidens were female viking warriors, sort of 🤷
Man fuck they aren't just in Paris at this point
Yal really hurt about some shit that has nothing to do with YT ppl
🍭👶🏿🦑 involved for sure
I don't wish for many development studios to die but Ubisoft is certainly up there.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a fantastic game, people only hate it because they hate everything middle east .
Small correction - in the new Prince of Persia game you are not even playing as the Prince, you are Sargon, who is someone of an elite squad that protects the royalty. The Prince is basically useless in the game.
Like Prince of Persia is probably the best thing they've made in a while
Bayek was the last good assassin everyone after that, 👎
Before bayek it was Edward Kenway
this a "paul mooney the last samurai" moment
Just remake Tenchu. I could get behind Ayame
Ubisoft doesn't own Tenchu or Shinobido titles.
I can't wait to play as a paraplegic assassin in the next one.
🍘🍘🍘
Not buying anything sbi has been involved in , not buying. anything woke at all , wtf black gay vikings and samurais no thanks i pass
The first Assassin's Creed game set in Japan and you don't play as a Japanese man. Cool.
Did anyone complain when we didn't play as a natively Turkish assassin in Revelations?
