My biggest complaint is that we're playing as an established person. Why? That defeats the whole purpose of AC. Should've just had him be a prominent character, not a playable character. Would've fixed 90% of these problems
I would have been happier if they had set an assassin's creed game in the congo with the templars attempting to find something and the black assassin's trying to prevent that while gaining freedom from the colonial government. You'd think that'd be right up the alley of the woke scolds but nope lets piss off the fanbase and japan
As a portuguese I can say the portuguese fit the templar perfectly. Portugal has deep connections to the templars, our first king was considred a templar king.
Something I wanted to bring up. In AC Lore, Nobunaga was actually allied with the Assassins, but the alliance was never fully implemented cause he was well, killed
Yasuke being an ally to increase your reputation with Oda would’ve been a better idea than him being a main character. Plus probably shouldn’t even grab the game since it’s basically dropping a mortgage to play it.
You could had even retconned Kijoro Sasaki like every anime does and made him the second to be fair. It doesn’t fit the timeline for Oda, but I think I’d had been happier with Kojiro
I’m black and Farcry 6 really put a damper on my hope for Ubisoft being able to write modern day politics with any form of tack. I’m sure that Yasuke’s skin color will be handled with all the discretion of a sledgehammer to the pinkie toe but aside from that this game will probably be good
So we're finally getting AC Japan, but it’s after Ubisoft has driven the series into the ground and reached EA-levels of greed. Yeah I think I'll just buy Ghost of Tsushima, the PC release came yesterday.
I don't think you need to be related to an ancestor by blood in order to access their memories anymore. All you need to do is have a person's remains just like what happen to Eivor in AC Valhalla.
Ubisoft waited way too long to make an AC set in feudal Japan. This game will be compared to Ghost of Tsushima. They probably saw the success of Ghost of Tsushima and are now trying to cash in.
Yeah, your point about Yasuke is…correct. Personally, I would’ve him in an Anti-Villain role as Oda’s Dragon; a secondary antagonist who could possibly show the protagonist that Oda is not the clear-cut Demon King that her clan has made him out to be.
I knew you were going to cover this eventually Raven. Between the controversy and Wikipedia editing wars, it was just unavoidable. Yea we don't know if the game will actually be any good, but yea it's a very poor first impression. Not to mention the horrendous price of the game which is arguably even worse than the disingenuous way they implemented Yasuke.

Yeah, Assassin's Creed did die quite a while ago. Its purpose now is solely to act as a lazy cash cow.
Meanwhile in game: "The assassin could be anywhere, stay vigilant, he's a master of disguise"
It's absolutely hilarious that Yasuke said "We are the shadows" even though he's a

The one and only thing that makes me scared, they are already accepting pre-orders, with no gameplay yet
Unreal. I'm so done with ubisoft.

At least we're getting some more Japanese content coming next month for For honor.

Not going to lie, Naoe and Yasuke are just reskins of Evie and Jacob…
